Capture The Blue-Eyed CEO - Chapter 296
“Lucille, please do one thing at a time,” Noah gently scolded his daughter who was eating and at the same time playing with Aadir.
When Aadir heard the reprimanding tone in Noah’s voice, he went rigid again.
“Miss Lucille, I’ll show you my magic tricks later because we must finish eating first.”
“Lucille, listen to Aadir,” he said when Lucille pouted. “You already have your request to have our meal here instead of going to the restaurant where Little Miss Jessie had a reservation. She has to cancel her reservation in favor of your wanting to stay here at the pool area for the whole day.”
“I’m sorry, Little Miss Jessie,” she leaned towards her and rested her chin on her shoulder. She fluttered her long lashes at her.
She chuckled. She has no plan to join the banter between father and daughter. She just ruffled her silky hair and whispered, “listen to your dad.”
Lucille stuck her tongue at Noah and did what was asked of her. She eats her food quietly and finishes everything on her plate. However, the moment she was done eating, she turned to Aadir who finished eating a long time ago since he ate quickly and too little because he’s still wary of Noah.
Noah knew that Aadir was uncomfortable around him but he didn’t do anything about it.
“Why are you making things difficult for Aadir?” Jess asked when Aadir, Soraya, and Lucille went back to the edge of the pool after the server cleared their table. She and Noah were the only ones left for they were having coffee after their sumptuous meal.
“What do you mean?” He asked as if he didn’t know what she was asking about.
“You know what I’m saying, Noah.” She said with a frown.
Noah held her hand and pressed a kiss inside her palm, and said nothing.
Jess gazed at Noah’s face, trying to get a read of what he was thinking but he had his poker face on. The one that he wears inside the boardroom. She clicked her tongue in annoyance. “You know that the incident wasn’t Aadir’s fault. The man did nothing but take good care of me,” she muttered under her breath. She pulled her hand away from Noah’s grip but he didn’t let her hand go.
“I’m not stupid to blame the poor man for what happened to you.” He said to stop her from pulling her hand away from his.
“Then, why?”
He sighed. “He’s been taking good care of you and I don’t like that.”
Jess’s jaw slacked and gawked at Noah for a while. She stared at his serious face, waiting for an indication that he was just kidding with what he said. When Noah’s expression didn’t change, she tilted her head to the side, furrowing her brows. “I don’t understand. What’s wrong with him doing his job?”
“Baby, it is my job to take good care of you. I want to be the one to be there for you. I hate that I can’t.” He said with an intense look in his eyes.
Jess blinked her eyes in disbelief. Her mouth agape as they stared at each other. No one uttered a word and after staring at each other a long time, she threw her head, laughing.
The mighty Tiefenbacher was simply jealous of his own employee! She couldn’t stop herself from laughing even when Noah squeezed her hand, and his eyebrows knitted tightly in between his eyes.
When Jess won’t stop laughing, he shook his head and turned his gaze to the pool where Lucille was back in the water, splashing. She was giggling with whatever Aadir was telling her.
“Baby, can you put on some rashguard over your swimsuit if you are conscious of the marks I put on your skin?” He asked with his eyes glued on what’s happening in the pool.
“Yeah, I could.” She followed Noah’s gaze and she choked on her own saliva, trying to control the laughter that was about to erupt from her throat. She was thinking if Noah was also jealous that Lucille and Aadir became instant friends. “I’ll go change,” she pulled her hand as she stood up.
Noah looked up at her. “You brought your swimsuit with you?”
“Yeah,” she glanced over her shoulder, scanning the far end of the pool area where the bathroom stall was. “I’ll just go change.”
Noah nodded and released her hand. He also stood up from his chair and pulled his shirt off over his head.
Jess stared at Noah and saw that his back had long red scratches. She bit her lower lip and cleared her throat. “Noah, I think you should put your shirt back on.”
He crocked his brow at her in silent questions.
“Your back –”
“Oh,” he exclaimed as if he just remembered. “You were such a tigress in bed, minx.” He grinned and his eyes danced in mischief. Jess realized that he knew that he had those scratches and was just teasing her.
“Jerk!” She turned around and marched to the changing room with Noah’s laughter behind her. She scoffed, laughing softly. Noah sometimes can be such a child and he’s damn adorable with it.
She never thought that a grown man – a powerful one at that, acting like a naughty kid can be as sexy as hell. She wondered if all men are like that or if it was just Noah.
When she got out of the changing stall, the sight that welcomed her was Lucille, standing on her father’s shoulder then jumping on the water. Seeing Noah enjoying himself with his daughter brought a smile to her lips, and her heart warmed.
Lucille noticed her when she was climbing back to her father’s shoulder and shouted, “Little Miss Jessie, hurry up!”
Jess dropped her straw tote bag and tied her hair up in a ponytail as she walked to the pool. She grinned when Noah whistled.
Even when his own daughter was watching, Noah displayed no shame in admiring her when she was just wearing a decent cut bikini bottom pair with a rashguard, showing no evidence of Noah’s marking on her skin.
