Capture The Blue-Eyed CEO - Chapter 305
“Don’t forget to send me a message.”
Jess rolled her eyes because he had reminded her for the nth time. “I’ll just pick Lucille later. Nothing major. You don’t have to worry too much.” She offered her left cheek for him to kiss her goodbye but Noah cupped her face and kissed her on the mouth in such a carnal kiss that curled her toes and made her wish that she does not have to go to work today.
“Have fun with your new team!” He said when he released her lips and chuckled, Jess still had her eyes closed as if she was still waiting for more kisses.
“It’s just Luke!” She clicked her tongue as she unclipped her seatbelt. “I heard about his research from him too many times already. I feel like I don’t need an introduction to his team.”
Noah laughed as he watched Jess get out of the passenger seat. He didn’t open the door for her because she was paranoid to be seen with him. Hence, he’s using the car that Lucille uses. Jin drove his car to work and he had to drive the SUV back to Lucille’s school. But then, Jess will pick up Lucille. For sure, she would use her own car. He has a feeling that Jin would just follow the three girls later.
He wished he could join them but the thought of Lucille calling Jess, aunt Jessie, and the fact that Jess was trying her best to build a relationship with Lucille was enough to put a smile on his face and made him whistle on the way to his office.
Jess on the other hand was welcomed by Dr. Sison’s team while she shared with them some gifts from Mumbai. They were glad and surprised that Jess got them a travel present. When thanks were said, everyone returned to their respective task for the day.
Luke dragged Jess to their lab to be introduced to their team. When they entered the lab, Oliver held up above his head the piece of paper that has scrambled that a kindergarten can do better. The words ‘Welcome to the team’ was written using a black marker. Alongside the border of the paper, what seemed to be flowers were drawn using the same black marker. Jess grimaced and gave Oliver a forced smile.
“Hello. Thank you for the warm welcome.”
“Don’t be a stranger!”
Luke slapped her shoulder that earned an angry glare from her. “It’s just the three of us?”
“Don’t be surprised. They told me that a research study such as mine would only get a senior researcher if it already showed potential. Oliver was actually a part-timer in our team so basically, it was just the two of us, Little Miss Jessie, that got promoted to aunt Jessie…” He bowed down deeply in front of her, “please take good care of me.”
It was her turn to slap Luke’s shoulder. She made sure that she used enough force that made him wince but didn’t complain.
“Don’t you think they are being too much? Why can’t we get a senior researcher in our team?”
“I asked about it but according to them, everyone was busy working on different projects. Don’t worry about not having a senior researcher in our team. Even though it was just three, there will be someone that will supervise our work here. So, having a senior researcher in the team would be redundant.”
“If that’s the case, you’re the only one that would be a full-time researcher in your team then.” She smirked. “I’m still Dr. Sison’s assistant. I still have to report to her.”
“Well then,” Luke looked at them and declared, “this is team Luke. And I promised to work hard and expect the same from the two of you.”
Oliver chuckled and reached for Luke’s hair, ruffling it as though Luke was a kid.
Jess’s eyebrow shot up and she glared at Luke with wide-eyed full of silent questions, but Luke just grinned at her, ignoring her questioning eyes, and proceeded to explain what her designated task was. It took him about twenty minutes to explain everything as he walked around the small lab. She and Oliver followed him behind.
When he was done explaining, he turned around and asked, “Any questions?”
She raised her arm high in the air. “I have a question.”
Luke shifted his gaze to Oliver. “What is your question?”
Oliver smiled apologetically at Luke. “Sorry, I have to go now. My other team just buzzed me,” he said, holding his phone up, showing them that he got a message from his other team. “I’ll be back later. Welcome, Jess. Let’s work hard together.”
“I have a question. For the two of you.” She said, clenching her jaws.
Oliver laughed. “I’m sure the lead researcher can answer all of your questions. See ya!” He turned around, ignoring her fully.
When she turned her attention to Luke, he was already standing behind a microscope. She crossed her arms over her chest. “You can ignore me now but you can’t hide from me forever. Especially if it would be just the two of us most of the time. And just to remind you, pissing me should never be in your plan.” She said loudly before heading to her own working station.
Luke just laughed. “You can threaten me all you want. Just remember that I know a lot of your secrets and I can spill them all to Noah…accidentally of course.”
“Huh?! You are going that way. Fine!” She mumbled while fixing her workstation, waiting for Luke to speak, but her saliva just pooled inside her mouth, but he did not speak.
She put down her clipboard on the steel table but Luke was totally ignoring her. She crossed her arms across her chest and heaved a deep sigh. “I got poison in Mumbai and almost died.”
Luke snapped his head around and stared at her. “I’m glad that you are well and healthy now.” He said with a deadpan expression then turned his back on her.
“Luke!” She yelled in frustration.
