Catch A Tiger By The Tail - 380 Dissolved into Moonligh
Kyera didn’t seem ready to step in, but she was holding the shield up. He wondered why until he saw it. Her energy was all over him, he glowed with it in a way only the Shadow King could say, no wonder Kyera had blocked his oppression from the boy. That would have been a dangerous mix.
“Father in law, I am Clovis of the Dancing Winds. It is a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for rescuing Kyera. I will have to be more attentive in the future.” Clovis spoke with a smooth and apologetic tone. His words were honest and his eyes hid nothing. The Shadow King slowly walked closer to Clovis, till he stood directly in front of him.
His face was serious, the sudden pick up of wind gently lifted and toyed with his hair. The aura around him grew slightly darker, it was enough to make Ramsey pull Myra behind him. Clovis stood his ground ready for anything his father in law could throw at him, or almost anything. What he wasn’t prepared for was a powerful hand to land on his shoulder patting it hard before gripping it, at the same time that serious expression broke and gave way to a hearty laugh.
“You have courage. That’s good to see, refreshing even. However it seems you have a lot to learn about your newly wed bride.” The Shadow King replied breaking the tension and letting his aura retreat back to him. The clearing seemed much more relaxed now as the tension drained away.
“I will do my best to learn, if you wish to teach.” Clovis replied formula, but the Shadow King just chuckled lightly.
“I simply mean that you married a woman who is not one a father can just explain. Kyera is as pretty as a Moon fire but as wild and unpredictable as each individual flame. If you think you could do anything to stop what just happened, no matter how attentive you are, your wrong.” The Shadow King smiled with pride at his daughter. He was very proud of the woman his cub had become, but also aware of who she was at heart. “Kyera doesn’t need tending. Occasionally she will need rescuing but she’s a strong woman. All you need to do is learn your side of the dance.”
“Either way we are in this together.” he replies looking back at his father in law. “No matter if it helps or not, trying at least shows I care.” he replies smoothly. The Shadow King grinned.
“Ky, I like this one. Now go on. All of you. It’s getting dark and I must return home. I hope to see you all again soon.” He replied nodding at the group, and preparing to leave.
“Wait, what about the Matriarch!” Myla cried out in panic, she was terrified she wouldn’t get another chance. Kyera was startled by her cousin’s sudden outburst. Her eyes flicked between her father and Myla.
“I know. The festival is in just a few days. The Matriarch Mother will survive till then.” he replied, unruffled by the girl’s shout. He dissolved into the shadows as the moon’s first beams caressed the land.
