Catch A Tiger By The Tail - 402 The King of Shadows and Goddess Reaper
The door slammed open and a man stood there, his eyes blazing black orbs as they moved over the room of people most whose faces were wet with tears. They came to rest on the head of white hair held in a man’s embrace, blood dripping down from the blade in his hand. He knew instinctively this was why Keric had rushed to call him here, to this hall. If he had been moments later… he couldn’t bare the thought.
The Shadow King moved forward and gently removed his daughter from the frozen man’s embrace. He removed his hand from the knife, sweeping her into his arms and carrying her to the bed, laying her down gently. The wound in her side was deep, and the blade was still buried in her flesh. He gently pet her hair and looked up at the sky.
“Sister I demand your aid. I beseech you, come to me.” He spoke aloud, the room still frozen in a realm between life and death. Within moments he saw the ravens gather at the window and with a flick of his wrist, the shadows opened the glass. The murder flew into the room and began to fly in the slowest of circles, slowly blurring into a shadow of their own. Within moments they picked up speed till they blurred away and dispersed. A woman suddenly stood quietly where they had once spun.
Breathless and suspended in this moment of time, she stood her deep black hair floating gently around her similarly to his own long hair. There were shadows on her pale skin where the moonlight cast fair light over her. Warm SIlver eyes were rimmed by long dark lashes that swept up and gave her eyes the appearance of the moon’s with wings. Her long silver dress was carefully embroidered with feathers and skulls that danced in a unknown wind that seemed to swirl around her.
“The blade cut deep into her ribs. With where it was situated… is there anything you can do? Has her heart been ruined?” He asked, unable to hide his terror from his voice. The Reaper looked concerned as she concentrated on the place where the blade had sunk the deepest. She surveyed the damage critically, knowing there was little she could do if it had even nicked her heart.
“Her heart is intact, though it is broken. Your ex has done so much damage to this little kitten, so has the one known as Verone. Both their names are carved into the walls of her heart. However, that should not be enough to stop me from healing her.” Reaper replied as she gently extracted the blade from her chest. “You will have to release the room, or my powers will have no effect.” She pointed out gently. They met each other’s eyes and he nodded.
There was a soft sound of swirling winds as the shadows released the room. Instantly blood began to flow from the wound again, as the Reaper removed the blade and began chanting, the words that wich no human had ever heard before. The glow from her hands seeming to pour into the wound while confusion took the people in the room.
The King of Shadows turned to face Kyera’s family, only the knowledge that she loved them staying his hand from staining this floor with their lives. “Someone had best explain to me why my only living daughter’s life blood stains these floors or prepare for your own to join the pool.” He spoke softly, anger in his eyes.
