Cativation - Chapter 12
He slept for one whole day after his soul returned to his body. The first thing he does when he woke up was to bite his tail. He bit it hard and immediately let’s out a scream of pain, however his eyes are filled with joy. He is alive and kicking.
It takes him a few minutes to calm himself down. He remembers what happened when he was hit by the energy balls. When his conscious was about to dissipated, a transparent box appeared in his brain and forcefully contained his conscious, prevent any lost. However, his conscious was still breaking down at a rapid rate, there are cracks everywhere.
Bluetail didn’t have time to think about why that box appeared, the only thing in his head is regret.
He isn’t that desperate to take on such a risky adventure yet he still did. He didn’t back off when that mythical green paw symbol is such a big red flag. He felt himself so small, so helpless, so powerless in front of Bastet and he hated that. He does not know what else can he do in that situation but he doesn’t want to be in that situation again. He needs to become strong, he needs to become someone who can crush everyone in his part, simply to protect himself. But he is dying and Bastet is going to erase his soul. Even if she doesn’t do so, this is already his last life, there won’t be any next.
“If I can live one more time, I swear I will become the strongest!” Swore Bluetail as his conscious is about to break down completely.
Suddenly a voice talked to Bastet and it comes from his conscious. He only feels his conscious is cracking but he isn’t strong enough to actually see his own conscious, there must be something else inside it. His ears are ringing and he can’t hear their voice clearly. Bastet’s eyes are filled with terror though, so it must be a good thing, maybe she will be down with him somehow. However, he lost hope when saw four energy balls flying to him.
Then he saw his own tail, gleaming with blue light, slashed open and absorbed every energy ball, it continued and slashed Bastet in half. He wanted to say nice out loud but he fainted. He thought he died.
What he didn’t see is energy absorbed go through his tail and straight to his brain where his consciousness is breaking down. The stream of energy passed through the transparent box and merged with his consciousness. It started to mend itself using Bastet energy, any useless part in his consciousness was discarded in the process as if his consciousness was purified and cleaned.
The voice sounded out again: “With your consciousness cleaned and purified, the neuron in your brain will connect better and information will pass faster thus your intelligent and thinking speed will take an incredible leap. Be grateful, even the elite warriors of our race won’t receive this treatment. Farewell.” The transparent box disappeared and Bluetail soul was transported back to his physical body.
——
“Aye, what should I do today?” Wondering Bluetail while stretching himself.
It has been three days since that terrible day and Bluetail just finished his breakfast. It was tasty even though it’s just some dry foods.
He felt a bit sad though as Stone died, Old Ginger was just a zombie all along and Cloud actually suicided when he was away. She jumped from a tall building and the image of her corpse is filled with gore and so graphic that it makes it into the internet and the owner was looking at it. That’s how he knew she suicided. She probably wanted to be reincarnate into another world to save some time, killing her self is the fastest way to do. This girl is so cold blooded.
He still feels his spine chilled when he thinks back about that day, but despite that, he still has some harvests. He feels his mind is a lot clearer and he thinks faster now, he also has some of Bastet memory since he spent most of his time looking for a way out and did not watch the memory video entirely. In the end he won more than he lost so it’s all good. Bluetail grinned.
He frowned again when he thought about his swear that day.
“How can I be the strongest? Cats at our level usually don’t have any combat power. One step at a time, I need to reach Immortail Realm first.”
“How can I reach Immortail Realm? Soul energy concentration on Earth is so thin I won’t make it even if I live for another thousand years here. What should I do?”
“Maybe Bastet memory can help.” Thought Bluetail.
He started to go through Bastet memory in his head. Bastet memory is separated from Bluetail memory in his conscious. He can only access it by imaging himself watching a video called Bastet’s life and he automatically see it through the imagined screen.
Bastet is a cat from a Blue Moon linage, their power consists of creating pocket world and they are proficient in the art of illusion. She broke through Immortail Realm at the end of her ninth life. Bluetail didn’t continue to watch after that so he missed out her life after Immortail Realm, however he remembers that she isn’t powerful and is not an important member of her family. She felt indignant of her family treatment to her so she left. She wanted people to fear and reverent her so she traded everything she has for a way to go to mortal world.
She ended up on Earth. After that her life filled with wars and killing, she slain all people who bad mouth her or disobeyed. She manipulated cats of that era to become her underling and monitor the human. People called her goddess of warfare and started to build temples under her name, cults were formed and the world on Earth drowned in chaos as she manipulated human to fight against each other for entertainment. However, a human expert noticed her evil deeds and her insanity, she slain her but failed to prevent her soul from escaping.
Bastet regained her sanity after she locked herself up and calmed down. She bided her time until she found Old Ginger corpse. Bluetail already knows what happened after that.
Although her story doesn’t help Bluetail and it was quite sad and tragic, but he still watches through it. He sneered at the end: “Served you right, b*tch.”
“Since she has a soul transfer spell, she must have a memory of it and other spells, let’s check that out.”
He then imagined a video called Bastet’s Spell. Just as he guessed, a video popped up much to his delight.
Since I write 1 chapter a week and publish as i write (shitty way to do I know), the disconnection is so real. I pretty much has to reread the previous chapter and reopened old chapters to check for loop hole every time xD
Anyway I probably need to do another hand surgery again in July.
