“It’s been so long, Mister!” Leifen said looking at Tian Lee. Hearing her voice Tian Lee smiled back and said sorry to Yu Ling. He started walking away without any delay. Yu Ling really felt anger rushing out. What did she do to deserve such treatment, to think he didn’t even ask about her.

“You stop right there!” Yu Ling yelled out. The sound even startled the crowd as they all turned to her direction. Her heartbeat was raising as she looked at Tian Lee who in turn saw her. She wanted to shout out, but only tears flowed through her eyes.

“I am really weak!” she mumbled as she ran away. The three of them who came with her stood there without knowing what to do. When they tried to look at Tian Lee, who was the reason for all this, he wasn’t there. It looked like he disappeared from the place.

Yu Ling was seen sitting under a tree in a isolated place as she held her knees. Tears were flowing out. Many things happened in the past months, she got rejected by her fiance, but she was just trying to help him out.

The life was cruel to her. She lost her grandfather in front of her eyes at a young age. So she distanced herself from others, so it won’t hurt badly when losing a loved person. She practiced hard just to become strong and protect others, but she was weak even now.

Just as she was sitting under the tree. A familiar memory started flowing in her mind. Which she forgot after her trauma.

“Look Yu Ling! That boy is your fiance!” Yu Ling grandpa said as he pointed out a seven-year-old boy. It was a gathering of the powerful clans that day. Hearing it she peeked at the young boy with common feature standing along with an old man.

He was eating the foods without worry. Just as she was looking at him, old Lee came to greet her grandfather. “Little Yu! Go and talk to Tian, grandfather will be chatting with Old Lee” her grandfather said.

Hearing it, she went near Tian Lee. But he did not notice her, as he continued eating. “Hey you! Don’t you know proper manners? When people come beside you, you must greet them” she said looking at Tian Lee to respond. But he ignored her as he continued to eat.

“Are you ignore me?” Yu Ling shouted. But only to see Tian Lee already left to fill his plate. Yu Ling found it funny as she giggled. Again she went near him. As she expected he wasn’t even putting her in his eyes.

But Yu Ling did not say anything. “Hey is that food really good?” she asked as she tried to take a piece of meat from Tian Lee’s plate. Only to see him hiding his plate as if it was a treasure. “It’s my food” Tian Lee said staring at her. But Yu Ling found his actions funny.

As she tried to take a piece of meat from his plate. Tian Lee kept on dodging her. And finally he started running away with his plate. Yu Ling started chasing after him.

Tian Lee stopped outside near a tree, as he stared at Yu Ling. “Who are you and what do you want? I won’t give you my food!” he stated looking at her. Yu Ling hugged her stomach as she started laughing at her fiance’s antics.

“Me? I am your friend” Yu Ling declared. Hearing this Tian Lee frowned, “I don’t have any friends! And I don’t know who you are!” he said as he continued staring at the food thief, who was trying to steal his food.

“Then let’s be friends!” Yu Ling said as she extended her arms. Tian Lee was cautious, it was the first time his grandfather has brought him to such a crowded place. He always stayed within the Lee clan. He never had any contact with outsiders.

Seeing the girls extended arm, Tian Lee too extended his hand. Yu Ling shook hands with him. “We are friends from now!” she exclaimed as she giggled.

Time passed, as they two were sitting under the tree.Tian Lee was still munching his food, while Yu Ling stared at him.

“Why do you look so weak?” she asked looking at him. She was already practicing martial arts at her age. The people in her clan called her genius. But she heard from her grandfather, that Tian Lee never practices martial arts. Whereas she started practicing from five years.

And from her view he looked weak. “How will you protect me in the future like this?” she asked puzzling Tian Lee. “Why would I protect you?” he replied.

“Hmm! We will be living together! We would be sharing everything in future and you need to protect me” she explained. But looking at Tian Lee puzzles look, Yu Ling laughed.

“Don’t worry then! I will protect you, because I am strong ” she commented.

Just as she was talking, she saw Tian Lee giving away a piece of meat to her. “You can have it now!” this made her puzzled. “Why?” she questioned him. “Because you are my first friend!” he said as he gave away the food.

They both talked and played until their respective grandfather took them back. But fate was not good towards her, after some months she saw the death of her grandfather in front of her eyes. The shock caused her trauma as she forgot many of her past memories along with Tian Lee.

She started practicing hard, becoming a young genius in cultivation. She left her clan at the age of eight along with her master . she stayed there without returning to Ling clan. When she finally arrived back home after ten years, she found out about her fiance situation.

She was so shocked, when she heard about the Crown Prince bastard trying to challenge her mortal fiance. But then she went on to rescue her fiance and it turned out the way now.

Yu Ling slowly opened her eyes as she remembered the past event. “I really forgot about him”Yu Ling said in an squeaking voice. “Yes! You really forgot!” the voice startled her. As she looked around, she saw Tian Lee sitting on the branch of the tree.

He then hopped down and sat beside her. It made her remember the past event as kids, it was just like this that day too.

“You know! I was really angry when I first met you after ten years, you were so cold towards me ; seeing the first friend I made acting like that made me mad, so I too acted a bit cold towards you” Tian Lee said. But he felt bad after knowing the reason for her action was due to the shock of her grandfather death through his grandmother recently.

“Then why did you say such mean words?” she asked in squeaking voice. “Haha! You mean about abandoning me right?, well you were the one who said you will protect me when we grow up and suddenly you popped out saying you are going to abandon me; What do you expect from me? Smile and accept it, I just wanted to make you suffer a bit for forgetting about me, you food thief!”

Hearing this Yu Ling giggled. “Here! Do you want a piece of meat” he said as he gave away the meat. “I am really sorry! Yu Ling!” Tian Lee whispered.

“It-It’s alright! There was my fault too” Yu Ling replied with a smile on her face.

“Hey! Hey! Beautiful girl! Would you like to give company to this old men rather than that mortal young man” a group of drunken old guys came before them.
