Celestial Peak - Chapter 580
Hong!
The Abyss shook with a giant explosion. With Everfrost holding the flames of the Norther Origin, Qinyang destroyed the northern castle in its entirety, “Ge-get, away from me!”
She shouted holding the elemental sword against Aether’s neck. Wearing Wang Ling’s face, with his original long black hair, and garbed in dark purple robes, Aether laughed as he raised both hands, “Okay, okay, I’m not doing anything, see. Look, you must be confused, but you have got to breath, my sister. For a 17,000 years old you’re really uncoordinated.”
But, as she shook her head, Qinyang gathered from her wits to make sense of her situation. The skies, and the atmosphere told her the one thing she didn’t want to believe, “I-is this the Abyss?”
“Yes, this is the Abyss.”
“I was in the Deity Paradise before I collapsed… did you abduct! Wait, if I am here, then, Father, Mother… you bastard, what did you do to my parents!?!”
Aether raised his hand and sighed, “All dead.”
Slash!
Frost, Wind, Fire, and even Lightning rendered the very atmosphere of the Abyss. Qinyang’s white hair flowed, on her back were black wings and a multi-colored halo that emanated all sorts of elements, “I’ll kill you….”
She oozed killing intent.
Her sword, however, was stopped by a smiling Aether just before his neck. He held it close to his neck, not moving it, showing her it was futile, “How scary, that single slash contained almost all Primal Elements. I can feel my hands numbing… how admirable. But, you can call that back, I was only joking. Your parents are fine.”
[A… joke?] Qinyang could not understand the man before him. The one who stole his father’s face, the slaughterer of the Universe, and the personification of death was right before her making jokes, trying to lighten up the mood… in the middle of the Abyss.
“Don’t be too worried, your parents are fine. I confirmed they were both in a different dimension before sneaking in through the hidden Death Aura I left in the Revenants I sent to be slaughtered earlier today. Also, think about it, if I could kill your parents, I would’ve done so long ago. Don’t worry, your father is most probably reforging the Blood Seeker, and your mother is helping him… they’re making preparations to end it all… though it’s all going to be futile — I’m going to end it as soon as I can, after all… I don’t want to fight him.” A grim and lonely light appeared in Aether’s eyes.
He prepared for this for the longest time, and he planned on ending it before Wang Ling’s reincarnation. Sadly, Wang Ling was sent to the world far too soon, and only now was Aether getting another chance, “It wasn’t easy leading him to reforge the Blood Seeker, but that invasion surely gave me a lot of advantage.”
While Aether rambled, Qinayang’s eyes darted around. She was quickly growing more and more worried about her situation. “Wha-what am I doing in the Abyss? Tha-that vision earlier, what did you do to me? Those people… elves, dwarves, beastmen… they were real… what were they? What the hell did you do to me.”
“What are you talking about? I did nothing. That’s just you. I’m only helping you open your true nature.” Aether tilted his head to the side and looked at Qinyang interestedly, “Though, it is pretty weird for sure. For me, it millions of years to develop… but your awakening is happening already initiated. I know mine took longer because my time took a long time to introduce mortality, but this is fascinating. Just seventy-seven hours in the Abyss, surrounded by Death Qi and it’s already enough to make you hear them. Though a little unstable, you even communed to the Demons, it’s actually quite fascinating.”
“Awakening? A million years? What are you talking about….” Qinyang couldn’t grasp what Aether was talking about, however, she knows that he wants something from her. She picked up the nuances and gripped her sword tightly.
Such change did not slip Aether, “How precautious. You may not have been raised by Wang Ling, but, you did indeed inherit his decisiveness of killing who sees as enemy. Sadly, however, you didn’t inherit his strength and composure.”
Aether walked straight and allowed the sword to pierce his throat. There was no blood, it slit to his supposedly impenetrable hide. Qinyang’s eyes widened and immediately, activated the sword. With a twist, Ice encased Aether and the fire cooked him, or so it should’ve.
But in horror, Qinyang watched as Aether shrugged everything off with utter nonchalance. He grabbed her hand and destroyed the sword, “I am the personification of Death. You cannot kill me by destroying my vessel. Because if you could, then, our parents’ first incarnation would’ve eradicated me already. Maybe, Chang Ping’s kitchen would actually be able to do something. Gahaha! Don’t tell Qinyang I said that, she already hates me after killing most of her adopted children and 70 percent of who remain.”
Aether laughed and Qinyang was terrified by his morbid sense of humor. She tried to get away, but his hold was too strong. He didn’t want her to leave so quickly, “Please, this is the Abyss, it’s my domain, you can’t leave without my permission. Let’s just talk for the time bei—what are you doing, Qinyang?”
Qinyang didn’t bother listening to the person who just announced he slaughtered more than half of the living. She ripped her arm off and blinded him using her blood before dashing to get away from him.
Qinyang escaped while her arm recovered almost instantly. She flapped her Devilish Beast Wings and left a trail of sonic booms. She was moving quickly and Aether watched her leave with silence.
He wiped the blood off his face and watched her from where he stood, “The tip of her wings is already showing changes. She’s still undergoing awakening? Hmm, how interesting… is it because she’s being pressured to release an output she never has before? I wonder if I can use this to my advantage… they are already knocking on my doors, I need Primordial Blood to move forward, I need to awaken her as soon as possible.”
Aether waved his hand and a dozen Emperor-Class Revenants appeared before him, “Kill her.”
He ordered for her death.
