Celestial Peak - Chapter 582
Black and White merged to become gray. Life and Destruction mingled, giving birth to Creation, thus, the flames of chaos appeared. In the Furnace of Chaos, the light of the gray flames blazed. With but a touch, the Mortal that made up the Blood Seeker melted, the killing intent within, however, fought back.
The killing intent attempted to take over the flames but Wang Ling suppressed its existence and melted everything. Without missing a beat the rest of the materials were melted and placed in the furnace.
“The Flames of Chaos brought everything int this world, however, everything was molded with your hands.”
Bai Xue said and Wang Ling coated his hands with the black mark. His eyes glowed red and then plunged his hand on the furnace. The flames surged and enveloped the entire space. The Flames could not be easily contained, it rampaged and attacked everything that wasn’t Wang Ling, even space was not safe.
Bai Xue dominated the flames with her presence and kept it around Wang Ling. Her nine flames appeared from behind and used them to direct the flames back, [Concentrate, if I slip up for a second, then the Deity Paradise would fall… tsk, I guess we should’ve moved the people inside to the “Last Bastion” so I don’t have to worry.]
If this was the past, outside of her daughter, the Wang Family, Deities, and some peons that Wang Ling took in, Bai Xue wouldn’t bother caring for others. Alas, she was given the responsibilities of the All-Mother.
Bai Xue sighed, [I can’t even fight back against those in the living. I hesitate when it’s not against the Revenants or the Demons, and I somehow feel hesitant when I think of killing that bastard.]
Bai Xue literally has the power on the tip of her fingers. She controls everything yet she cannot even use it to dominate through force, [The stronger I get the more I lose. Now, only Ling can have all the fun.] It was starting to get boring for Bai Xue.
She remained in her thoughts as Wang Ling continued forging his sword. He continued molding the sword, changing its form, perfecting it in every way. The feel of the handle, the sharpness of the blade, the inside, the reaction, its core.
Everything was being analyzed by Wang Ling’s mind at a different dimension altogether. Wang Ling never had training in forging swords, he just picks up everything and use different swords to strengthen his natal weapon.
However, right now, he carefully took off anything that was unneeded. Any shrapnel that found its way to his sword, any substance, anything that could be a detriment. The World Treasures were even picked apart for scraps, his own flesh, even.
Wang Ling did not spare any effort to forge the sword that could kill the Emperor of Death.
Thus, four days after he and Bai Xue retreated to a different dimension Wang Ling stopped any and every movement. His flames retreated; his qi subsided and with a smile, he announced, “I’m done.”
He smiled as the blade glowed crimson, Wang Ling touched its handle and whispered, “Howl.”
Slash!
Thus, space was split in half.
The two returned to reality.
On a hill split in the middle, Wang Ling and Bai Xue’s fox form reappeared. The sword was nowhere to be found as it was already kept away. It was too dangerous to be left in a reality where it could cut react and cut indiscriminately.
Wang Ling kept it in a safe place.
“Should we kill the Gray Bastard now Xu—ack!”
Pah!
“What do you mean fight!? We’re killing the emperor later, let’s check on Qinyang first!” Bai Xue hit Wang Ling with her paws, “You bastard took way too long. What if my little Qinyang misses her dear mother?”
“…Well, I thought I’d meet her again when we solve everything and everything is peaceful—”
Pah!
Bai Xue pulled on Wang Ling’s white hair “You useless parent. Qinyang is a jealous kid; she wants to be pampered and must be the first person that comes to mind.”
Bai Xue wrapped Wang Ling with her tail before dragging him in front of Qinyang’s house, “You two really need to spend a lot of time together. You don’t even know something so… simple.”
Wang Ling smirked, “Oh, I know about her jealous side. Do you know how she reacted when I was treating Chang Ping, she pouted, and looked like she was fuming. I didn’t know why she was acting like that at the time, but it appears, she wanted to spend time with me.”
Bai Xue laughed at Wang Ling’s little story, “Shishishi, that’s just the tip of the ice… berg….”
Bai Xue stopped her; her smile transformed into a frown. Her eyes glowed with joy and excitement to that of a lifeless shade of crimson.
“Hmm? Xue? What’s wro—” Wang Ling peeked from underneath Bai Xue’s fluffy tail when he felt that the atmosphere had changed and like her, he too changed from calm to insanity.
The two parents looked at what remained in the fight….
Their eyes were soon mired in an intense will to kill.
===
More than seventeen thousand years ago, there was a creature trapped in a fracture of reality. The space where she was kept was small, and in it time did not flow, thus, she did not age.
She was never aware of anything, only that she was alive. Her mind did not think, it was incapable of doing so… as her creator once said, she was but a prototype never meant to live. She was kept aside, and was never showed anything.
She never grows up, she never matured, she never existed. She never would’ve desired anything if not a sudden change that opened the world where she was kept. The laws loosened and so did the space where she was kept.
She did not know exactly how long it took, but eventually, she found a light and had a thought. She crawled out of the darkness and into the light, after a long time, she appeared in the middle of a forest.
She could not properly walk, stumbling about at her clumsy attempts; her body was malnourished and hunger-stricken. Often, she would fall, often, she would be hurt.
She cried, but no one came to help her. This remained to be the case for days to no end, and at the end of her days, when life was about to disappear, the girl was found by a man.
He was shocked at the sight of the girl. She was far too young to be alone, and far too weak to even walk. He was amazed but at the same time felt heartbroken seeing her, thus, out of compassion, he brought her back with him.
He asked her where she came from, but she could not answer. It was understandable, and he only laughed. But the girl did not know that. She soon grew afraid if she would be abandoned, and be left alone to survive on her own, but instead, the man took her in as his own. He bathed her, fed her for the first time.
His wife accepted her as well. She smiled at the sight of the child, hugged her, and for the first time felt the warm embrace of a mother. The girl wept at such kindness and vowed to be of service to them.
The young girl, though clumsy helped around the house as soon as she could, and then… she met him… an empty husk, same as her. It was the couple’s oldest son. She showed him the same compassion the couple showed her and the girl decided that she would take care of him. She did not know but by his side, she felt at ease.
Surely, it must have been because he was mute and without a mind of his own. She did not k0now… but, over time… even though she didn’t want to, she understood. She understood it all, why she appeared there, why she was attracted to him.
It was because Wang Ling… was the answer to everything. He was the key to Wang Yue’s existence, and that answer was simple, “Nurture him.”
“Nurture him? Not kill him?” Chang Ping was confused by her friend’s words, “Why haven’t you told anyone of this before?”
The two of them stood outside of the Cosmic Road
“Oh, she did though. More specifically, she told me.” Wang Hong stated as he appeared from above, “It took a long time of research and then, the appearance of the Revenants caused a rupture. Our parents were attacked, and little Yue left to get stronger while uncovering her truth after learning the Emperor of Death has begun his move.”
Chang Ping gave her a glance and asked, “Then why didn’t you tell it to me?”
“Also injured, the Revenant took an arm of mine… and also couldn’t be bothered to share information that hasn’t been confirmed. It might only result in confusion.” Wang Hong argued.
Chang Ping sighed at his words, “Anyway, we can talk about this later. How is the barrier to the Abyss looking? Are we anywhere near to opening a portal?”
Wang Hong shook his head, “We are currently gathering what remains of the Formation Tower to see if we can use space and Runes to tear apart a big enough rift for us to use. But it’s taking a long time for us to find a fracture. The Emperor of Death has made sure to isolate the Abyss. We cannot enter. The GodKings are still recovering from using their Blood Essence, but they are already willing to try again and that brings me to why I came here. We need you two to help us puncture a hole on the Abyss space. Are the two of you good?”
“Yes, I already prepared my bow. Let us hurry or else Qinyang will—” Wang Yue couldn’t finish her words as she began trembling and felt her knees shake.
BOOM!
Wang Yue, Wang Hong, Chang Ping, and the experts on the Cosmic Road all froze at the descent of boundless savagery.
From behind Wang Yue a portal opened and came out two people.
A man and a nine-tailed fox woman.
The man opened his mouth, “Yue… what was that about Qinyang?”
