Celestial Peak - Chapter 586: Genesis II
Bow God, one of the Five Gods who stand at the peak of their crafts.
Her arrows were condensed qi as one would associate to any notable Spirit Bow users. Because of this, they could control its speed, trajectory and even power. However, what separates a good bow user from those at the peak, was the distance their arrows could travel. Or so those with a narrow mind would think.
The bow uses a lot of qi to even fire an arrow that could travel for thousands of meters meant to kill a man in seconds. The layers of complexity of such a technique was enough to activate formations that could overturn a war’s situation.
Of course distance was important. After all, the farther one was, the more effective a spirit bow user was. Yet, this was the very reason why there were so few bow users at the peak.
To fire an arrow that could travel for kilometers would exhaust a lot from a practitioner. It was impractical to even entertain the idea.
The more distance, the more qi exhaustion. But the less distance apart between enemies could endanger the user. It was a weapon of nuance and often needed constant repositioning and a large pool of qi.
It was a weapon of Noble as others would call it.
Luckily, Wang Yue was one who stood above every other Emperor.
“Divine Frost Bow!” a black bow world treasure appeared in her hands. It glowed an ethereal dark blue and
Twelve Haloes appeared on the back of her head. Each one being bigger than the last. Its beautiful light expunged the terrible feelings of those around, and gave Wang Yue a boost of power.
The mysterious being desired to match Wang Yue’s intensity. It grasped the murky haze and brought forth a sword but it could not move ahead to match its enemy’s movement. It tried to, but the ice it was stepping on had already trapped it.
The once blue ice now became darker, purer, and stronger. Even the mysterious being could not easily escape. It exploded with strength and broke the ice, but at that point, Wang Yue had appeared right above the mysterious creature with her bow strings fully stretched.
The weapon in her hands was a World Treasure by the name of Divine Frost Bow.
In the hands of someone like Wang Ling, a World Treasure was but a temporary channel to unleash his strength. A World Treasure was once a fraction of the Ruler of Chaos’ powers, hence, they break after being used once before returning to Wang Ling as a part of himself.
However, the World Treasure was a cornerstone of the Universe in the efforts to win against the Abyss. The now deceased Fist God ascended to his ranks and used such a weapon to climb the ranks over other Fists Masters.
Though the Fist God was now dead, his legacy remains. That legacy was proof of the World Treasure’s true strength.
That it was not a mere disposable item, they were treasures that would make anyone froth in the mouth. Their appearance in a world would leave an ocean of blood that would flow for kilometers. Those who could sunder the heaven and earth would fight until there was nothing left, and the abyss would be called down upon and poison the holder of the World Treasure.
Many would fall, but to anyone who could claim the treasure, even if their lives were to be shortened by the devious poison of the Abyss, they would be able to leave their names in the annals of history.
And now, Wang Yue held a weapon of such a caliber. A bow made from the core of a planet that embodied the tundra. Its ice was dark blue, its potency incalculable to even herself. Wang Yue claimed this bow not too long ago, and she had tamed it to the best of her ability.
She pulled the bowstring a meter away from her enemy’s face. The qi inside hers welled and gathered at her fingertips creating an arrow of ice. It was dark, glistening under the light of the abyss.
The mysterious being looked at Wang Yue’s eyes with no emotion. She could see the clear intent behind the eyes of the one the Universe called the Absolute Frost Empress.
Wang Yue wanted her death to erase her from existence.
“Divine Frost Arrow.”
A whisper escaped her rosy lips and for kilometers the temperature dropped. With Wang Yue as its center, everything froze over and the light from Wang Yue’s bow pierced the body of the mysterious being.
At point blank range, Wang Yue fired an arrow that could snipe a cultivator for thousands of kilometers in a single second. It was as fast as light, no, it was faster than light could process.
It was a simple technique that required no fancy movement.
When the fletch of the arrow was released from her fingers, only so few could calculate the time the arrow needed to enter the mysterious being’s power.
The arrow was made by pure qi from her lineage and was powered by the Divine Frost Bow. It was compressed to create an arrow and let go at point blank range.
It entered the body of the mysterious being and the arrow made entirely of frost did its job. From its chest, the arrow froze the being’s heart, then it halted its veins and crumpled its meridians, and then its limbs and when the arrow had passed through the body of the mysterious being, its entire body was already encased in ice.
BOOM!
The echoes of the arrow piercing the land of the abyss finally reached Wang Yue’s ears as she landed right before the mysterious being.
She who had only done a single attack was slightly out of breath.
Her shoulder had yet healed.
[The shape of my soul is not manifesting in reality.] Most, if not all God Realm cultivators and beyond heals their wounds by manifesting the true form of their souls.
This consumes a lot of qi, but they gather the amount they use fast enough that it was inconsequential. But in the Abyss, not only was qi scarce, any damage they suffer left the soul vulnerable for the Abyss’ attributes to latch onto and corrupt it.
She was someone who had broken through the ranks of the Gods and reached the realm of the Ancestors who started cultivation.
Being a perpetual heretic member of the Origin Race, she was supposed to have boundless qi. Afterall, with their level of cultivation the date and information of their souls registered their peak therefore they would be perpetually returning to said peak of power.
If anyone below the realm of Gods was to be injured inside the Abyss, Wang Yue was unsure what would happen to them.
Just being in the Abyss was already a disadvantage.
[This place is still a mystery to us. But, we don’t need to find out any more. We just need to destroy this place as fast as possible. That thing… no… that homunculus was powerful. If it had not tried to assassinate me and kept its qi in check, I would not have been able to kill it in one hit. From how it fought it should’ve been mainly a Devil Homunculus. I don’t even want to know what kind of element it had.]
Wang Yue was lucky it had suppressed itself to try and kill Wang Yue in a single blow. The Mysterious being, or rather the Homunculus had also entered Wang Yue’s preferred territory, making it an even more preferable match up.
Standing before the Homunculus, Wang Yue was slowly healing herself with her innate regenerative capability. She watched its body crumble and then with a powerful kick, Wang Yue crushed the Homunculus into dust.
“What’s this?”
From the dust was a marble. Wang Yue caught the marble and looked at it with great intensity and immediately crushed it after realizing what it was.
With horror in her eyes Wang Yue creased her brows, “…that wasn’t a Homunculus Heart or even Core. It was too pure to be one… no, don’t tell me… was that an imperfect Genesis Core?”
At that moment, after Wang Yue had a thought.
The barrier around Wang Hong shattered.
With a heavy expression, Wang Hong looked at his sister.
“I think I know what’s been bothering… and if I’m right, we need to get Older Brother and his Family out of this place.”
