Celestial Peak - Chapter 589: Genesis V
“Don’t you run away from me! Tell me what happened to me!?”
“Dammit, Qinyang! Open your eyes! I am not a revenant!”
Chang Ping was trying her best to run away. She was the Sword that protected the lives of billions yet now she was doing her best to flee from Qinyang, a chick that had not even grown to be able to spread her wings.
[Dammit, she’s not listening to whatever I said. This is the third time this thing happened. She’s treating me like she knows me and then transforms into a fucking menace that tries to kill me each time! Dammit, what is happening to Qinyang?]
Worry was now in her heart. The pure sense of fear knowing what would happen if Wang Ling and Bai Xue was to learn about their daughter haunted Chang Ping. Seeing Qinyang in this monstrous form, away from Wang Ling’s and even Bai Xue’s true self, she could see why Qinyang was despairing.
The pressure that was on Qinyang’s shoulder was not light. In the light of things, being the daughter of the two most powerful beings must have been enough to make anyone conceited and full of empty pride. But, Qinyang was the opposite.
She was prideful, yet she knew her place. She never once stepped out of her lane and did everything with the pride of knowing who she was. Never had she relied on who she was to survive, it was as if she was trying to carve out her own image.
[She was trying to create her own form… she reminds of Wang Yue and Wang Hong. Their desperation to live up to the name of their brother and parents. The namesake that almost buried them on the ground.] Chang Ping journeyed the Universe with Wang Yue multiple times and fought with Wang Hong several times.
They had exchanged more than enough sentiments to understand one another. Now, Chang Ping could see the ominous reflection that was waiting to eat away at Qinyang.
She wanted to awaken her own power. She was afraid of using the powers that came not from her own hard work, to be deemed as a cheat in life… to drag down the names of her parents. Qinyang was afraid, and now that she had achieved what she had sought to become, when the result was not as pleasant as she had wished to be, Qinyang despaired.
The ugly poison of self expectation and failure was devouring Qinyang’s heart from the inside. That alone was enough to be a headache, but… there was another thing that was stopping Chang Ping from knowing what to do.
“Ha…hahaha… hahahahah! Why are you running?”
Chang Ping turned around and saw Qinyang’s tear stained face fronting a big smile.
[There it is again… she’s starting to see things in a morphed way once again. Whenever she breaks free from it she once again reverts to being blood crazed. Then, when she wakes up she doesn’t even remember that we already met.]
Whenever she remembers, she would then go back to her blood crazed self and when Qinyang breaks free from the mist clouding her mind, she would revert into going crazy after realizing what she had become.
Then, while fighting, more and more Revenant would try to kill Qinyang and she would kill them every single time. She was getting more and more efficient in dispatching them, her usage of her wings was even more impeccable than they have ever been.
At some point she became so sharp that she managed to injure Chang Ping, [Not only is it a never ending cycle, she’s also getting stronger each time. Tsk, I don’t have a clue what to do with this. Currently, she’s weak in terms of skills. She’s emulating the twilight sword that Master taught her, but it is sloppy at best. She is merely killing the Revenants through sheer speed blitzes of the techniques. But, even her movements are losing wasted movements. Just now she killed three without wasting a single breath.]
Chang Ping was clearly on the ropes.
“Ha…hahahahaha! Come on! Don’t run! FIGHT ME!”
“Qinyang! I don’t want to hurt you! Open your eyes and—”
Chang Ping shouted back and the moment she turned to answer, when her speed lessened even a single bit, Qinyang’s figure blurred behind her. Her wings flapped and razor sharp wings carried Qinyang right above Chang Ping.
With slitted eyes, Qinyang faced Chang Ping with a raised sword and a maniacal smile, “Got you!”
Chang Ping could tell what was about to happen, [If I don’t take this seriously… I will die.]
Her sloppy movements were all bait. Qinyang was clearly much faster than she had let on. The improvement that she had been showing was insane, but, it was also all an act, Qinyang had been holding back.
Why? Did she notice that the “Revenant” was different? It did not matter, all that did was that Chang Ping was now cornered.
Qinyang swung her sword. A strike that could level several mountain ranges with one swing. It was a devastating slash and Chang Ping, in this instance, decided to take things up a notch as well.
“Devil’s Disciple… Activate.”
She whispered and on her back, two wings growing on the right side of her black unfurled. Her eyes changed, granting her a circular layer around her pupils. The sword to Chang Ping suddenly became slower.
Chang Ping did not use a sword, instead, she moved her body with absolute fluidity that she caught Chang Ping’s arm before its destination could be realized and pulled her right shoulder off its socket.
The hand holding the sword went limb.
Chang Ping was about to grab Qinyang’s face and drag her to the ground. Qinyang, however, reacted first and moved her head. While Chang Ping’s hands were preoccupied, Qinyang sank her teeth on Chang Ping’s neck.
BAM!
Chang Ping struck Qinyang in the abdomen, releasing the air inside. She opened her mouth before she could tear off Chang Ping’s neck. With a twist of her body Chang Ping kicked Qinyang in the face and sent her flying for hundreds of meters.
The young lady of the Deities quickly recovered. Her eyes widened as she looked at the “Revenant” before her.
The two wings growing on one side and the unique movements, completely foreign from the others.
“It appears Aether finally started showing his hand.” Qinyang commented before spitting out the blood in her mouth.
“Aether? I don’t know who that is. But, one thing is sure… I’ve been looking down on you, Qinyang. Starting from now on, that goes out the window… I no longer care if you’re Master’s daughter. You’re clearly strong enough for me to make an excuse for my life.”
Chang Ping decided to fight.
