Celestial Star Sect On Earth - Chapter 5 The Fores
Day 05 June 2043 (the fifth day after the huge phenomenon).
In the army camp, Africa.
“Lieutenant Kwame Zeechi, please state the latest reports.”
Inside a huge tent, higher-ups from the armies were present. All countries in Africa deployed their forces to investigate the strange forest despite their relations. Also other countries like USA, Russia, China, France were sending their best to prevent anything bad from happening.
More than forty people were seated in a roundtable. Different ethnics could easily be seen. They were all looking anxiously to the man called Kwame Zeechi.
“Yes, sir.”
Black scrapped hair as per army rules and a thin, masculine face. Sparkling eyes, set a-symmetrically within their sockets. A scar reaching from just under the right eyebrow and ending on his left nostril left a strong first impression on the man. He was standing upright with respect to his superiors.
” I don’t have good news to report sir. All men from our squad never returned, and we didn’t get any intel from them. It appears that somehow, the connection was blocked the moment they entered the forest. And so, we couldn’t maintain contact. But we could still hear the shots from outside. That’s why I suppose there is no good thing in this forest ”
The room exploded.
The Generals got frantic. What did that mean? Their best squad was annihilated. Whatever’s inside there, should not be weak. Maybe not even from Earth!
“Silence! Everybody calm down!” said one cold-blooded general.
When the room quieted, he continued.
“Just now, I got a message from the Robotics Alliance. They are sending the best equipment they currently have. Even thirteen armor suit they have just developed. This is sufficient to get a squad inside that shitty forest and understand what is happening.”
The room exploded again.
That was a piece of big good news!
When the room quieted once again he continued.
“Lieutenant Kwame Zeechi, you will be responsible to gather the twelve of the best and enter together with them. If we reach an agreement?”
“I do.”
“Agreed.”
“I’m okay with it.”
“Why not?”
.
Once all have spoken, the general noded.
“So it’s concluded. Tomorrow you’ll be responsible for the success of this mission. Dismissed.”

In another tent, much smaller than the reunion that just happened. Two men were lying in their improvised mattresses. One of them was cleaning his gun while the other was reading an old book. On its cover read [Bull Body Cultivation Technic].
“Oh c’mon Zander, why are you still ready this book? I didn’t think you’d be so stupid to believe what people are saying about it.”
“Why do you need to be so cynic Schalk? I really can feel this book is making me stronger…”
“Stronger.. puff. It’s making you more of a retard I’d say.”
“Don’t believe? I’ll show you then.”
Zander got up from his bed and prepared himself to punch the ground. Closing his fist he concentrated his energy.
The tent flapped.
“Zander, Schalk. You’ve been selected to a mission tomorrow.”
“Yes, sir!” They quickly saluted the lieutenant who entered their tent.
“I’ll be the entrusted leader of a squad to enter the forest. From now one, you’ll answer only to me. Understood?”
“Yes, sir!”
“Okay. Now, I got some presents for you. The newest Armor Suit from Robotics Alliance, the Project Alfa. Take it.”
He threw one bag at each of them.
Took by surprise, they almost fell on their butts by the weight. Turning around the lieutenant Zeechi went out, leaving them with their eyes opened wide.

One day later.
The sun was rising in the east, but the sunlight was blocked by the enormous trees casting huge shadows in the army camp. It was a gloomy day.
All men sent had never returned. Five hundred men, probably dead.
But there was still hope.
On the east side of the camp, a new squad had been formed.
Zander and Schalk were there. Equipped with their newest armor suit. A black metal that covered all the body, making humans as strong as machines. The armor was easy to master, it acted more like a shell but didn’t restrain their movements.
In the front, lieutenant Zeechi was explaining the mission and their main objective.
“From now one you are all under my command. This is an order from all the generals, so say no more.”
He stopped a bit to look each of them in their eyes and then continued.
“Five hundred men have probably died in this damn forest right now. Our mission is to scout the forest and understand what is happening. Anything different that you see, report it. Even if it’s an ant, understood?”
“Yes, sir!” they spoke in unison.
“Now turn on the camera in your helmets. We’ll be calling this Operation Enigma. I must warn that apparently radio waves couldn’t penetrate the forest and we’ll be alone inside. But, you are the best men we have and you should feel proud about it, Earth is counting on us. Let’s go.”
“Yes, sir.”
They’ve trained hard to a moment where they could put their name in history. And so, they went inside the mysterious forest with nothing but hope in their eyes. And their machine guns of course.
Entering the forest, they were met with silence. It seemed that animal life inside it was inexistent. But the vegetation around was marvelous. Plants from every color could be seen, different from anything they had seen.
Maintain their formation was pretty easy as the trees were sparse. But the only person that could feel the difference in natural energy here was Zander.
[It seems the Qi here is ten times stronger than outside. When I put my foot inside I could feel my martial art circulating through my body. If I could cultivate more here would be nice. But. that’s why the animals came here? Could it be that they can feel the Natural Energy as well? If so, could they cultivate?]
As Zander was coming to a really bad conclusion and closely related to the truth. The squad stopped.
The ground in front was covered in blood, but no corpse could be seen.
“Stay alert everybody. I don’t know if the last squad was attacked here, but we need to keep going and look for tracks.”
“Sir. I found some shells!”
“Then they fired at something or someone. Make a circle now! Shot at anything that moves!”
“Yes, sir!”
Making a circle quickly, Schalk went beside Zander.
“Don’t matter what happens, I’ll cover your back Bro.”
“Same here man.”
“Sir. Look at that small tree.” another man spoke pointing with his finger.
Everyone turned their heads to his direction. A little tree about two meters tall with purple leaves. A deep black fruit was sprouting from its lowest branch.
When they momentarily stunned by the fruit. One man went ahead to get it.
“Noooo! Come back right now!”
Lieutenant Zander tried to warn him, but it was too late.
A black shadow fell from the tree on top of him.
“Shoot it now!”
They knew the armor could protect from bullets, so they fired without remorse.
Blood splashed it the air.
The armor could protect from the bullets but didn’t stop the shadow from taking the man’s head.
It moved again. This time, coming directly to the squad.
It was fast.
They couldn’t even distinguish what it was. Less than three it appeared in front of them. The bullets didn’t seem to make any effect. This time the target was the one in comand.
“Careful commander!”
Kwame Zeechi raised his machine gun in front of his body as protection.
“Clank”
His gun was destroyed in one hit! He could feel his hands numb from the impact. The shadow threw its weitght on him. He fell on the floor, even with the armor suit he couldn’t stand.
He died even before he could distinguish what killed him.
“Damn shit, shoot that down!”
The squad went in disarray. They screamed and fired, trying to stay away from the shadow.
There was only one man that could see what the shadow was. Zander clearly saw what had attacked the lieutenant. It was an animal as weird as the forest itself.
It looked like a black panter but, instead of four limbs, it had eight. And in its back, it had two limbs similar to whips with spikes. Its fur was as back as the fruit they saw. And a pair of with teeth could be seen on its mouth.
While he was looking stunned two more people had died. He needed to do something.
“Every one! Behind me now!”
The line of command was already broken. Amidst shouts and shots, the man could barely rearrange themselves. The beast stopped and waited as if playing with them.
Only now the man could see the beast.
Zander positioned in the front. He threw his gun to the side, preparing himself to give a punch. Circulating his Qi as stated in the book, he looked in the eyes of the creature.
“Come at me now your beast!”
“Are you trying to punch that thing!? Are you crazy man!? screamed Schalk.
As if listing to him, the creature advanced. To the eyes of the squad, it became a shadow again.
When the beast was in front of him, its mouth opened showing bloody sharp teeth.
He punched! Right in the face!
Boom.
There was a huge explosion, followed by a thud.
Zander went a step back. The armor protecting his right arm had broken. Looking ahead he saw the beast. It had been thrown to the nearest tree. That was fifty meteres!
Its face was covered in its own blood. The beast was hurt, but it was still alive! It stood up, looking directly to the man that hit her. And when every one was holding their breath, it turned its tail and fled away!
“You can breath now guys. Let’s get the corpses and get away from here!”
Zander wasn’t elated by that feat. If the creature had attacked again he would be dead. This only hit had consumed all of his Qi. Now, he only wanted to get away from the forest.
He turned around to look to Schalk. Patting his friend’s shoulder he said.
“See I told you I got stronger.”
