Ceo And His Empress.. - Volume 2 Chapter 203 200. Interview..2
Qin was an existence that was held in the same place as the country’s Government, but they were always neutral.
Still, with their wealth and security details, the Government was also scared of the empire and even though they staged a beautiful facade of a healthy relationship, for better or for worse, they didn’t give up on any chance to get the Empire under them… these reporters were just a scapegoat.
But if these newborn calves were not afraid of the tiger, it was all the more same for her.
Meilin was also not scared of offending them and it was not based upon someone else as your backbone, she herself was enough to stand up for this… to her, this was a give and take relation, they didn’t want to suppress the impact of the current Government has, but they also won’t be suppressed.
In the end, this was the correct equation for equilibrium and both sides will continue to follow it till the end… no one can let their guard down or, they will be swallowed in the other’s momentum.
“The Chairman is in good health and is just recovering at home. Secretary Feng has indeed left us, but considering the time, we would like to ask you to not ask any such questions about his demise going on and respect the dead and let his soul rest in peace…. and as far as the news of CEO Qin is concerned, he will be back soon”, it was the unfeeling voice of Qian Cheng that answered all the questions in a matter of fact tone, these answers were prepared from the start.
“Is it true that the Qin is facing a state of deflation and it will be hard to get up?”, came another question, well, in this sort of conference, it was absurd to think that, they could ask unrelated and bogus questions, just because they were in a vulnerable state didn’t mean that they had stopped being a giant, plus after the stock exchange was reviewed this morning and their loss was very low from the expected loss and didn’t even reach a billion, asking otherwise would be same as harming oneself with the rock they picked up.
“We have taken enough measure for it to not fall beyond this morning’s rate and just the upcoming project that was finalised with the WPJ group is enough to raise our stocks”, Qian Cheng’s tone held a hint of amus.e.m.e.nt which was, of course, sarcastic towards the end as he continued in the same manner, “I wonder where you got this news? I wonder if your ‘source‘ is trying to pick a fight with us”, his eyes held a cold glint, he has been following Qin ZiXuan from the start and held Qin Mo and Qin Meilin with absolute faith and respect, during the start Secretary Feng was also his mentor so, what happened yesterday had indeed put him in a sombre mood… he couldn’t stand these people at all, it may be their job but these so-called ‘news‘ that they gathered was just a jab from some people at the top and he couldn’t bear with it.
This Empire was the saving grace for many youngsters like him who had potential but were without background, he was given a chance and reached this place because of it so, he will always be loyal to his benefactor.
The reporter who had asked the question had a puzzled and embarrassed look… but the ones who had asked the previous question stiffened, and slightly inflamed by how Qian Cheng had looked at them towards the end. This was a jab aimed at them…!
They were still at the top of this bunch and were always treated with regards and respect wherever they went because of their lofty position, but this simple secretary had just looked down upon them. To them this was preposterous!
But before they could do something to set their image as being too arrogant, the cold Empress who had been silent from the start, finally opened her mouth, ” Secretary Qian…”
Qian Cheng who had acted out of character just now, stiffened before calming down, just her calling him was enough to cool him down to the bones, after all, the one who was going through the most was definitely her, but she was going through everything calmly all because of her position and so, he should also act based on it… or, he will be a disappointment to both his late mentor and her.
He knew that Meilin didn’t want him to apologise, it was just a simple reminder of what they came here
to do today.
“It would be better for you to do a better research before asking the next time. You may ask the next question..”, he was back to his business tone.
“There has been some internal conflict in the Empire as the real heiress was demoted to work under a person who is not even related to the Empire. Even the situation with the current Chairman is being hidden, right? Is that the same reason as to why CEO Qin is not here? Was he threatened out of his position by you?”, the reporters from the Central Channel had really lost it because they didn’t get the apology they ‘deserved‘ and also were quite complacent with their position so, even though this topic has always been a taboo, they still dared to ask about it.
Everything froze for the next few seconds…
Even the barrage of questions on the online platform, some of which were shouting about the cold beauty with an immense presence and the savage remark of the handsome secretary, everything just quietened down, it was as if, someone had pushed on the pause button… this was an unprecedented phenomenon… It was as if, the frighteningly dark aura coming from the stage had involved them even through the screen… it was eerie and quite scary!
Well, what could be heard if one had a very sharp hearing was the simultaneous sound of gulping one’s saliva… Most of the employees and the Chief of the channels and publishing houses who came here yesterday and directly experienced her presence, were the ones who were scared stiff, while the one reporter who had spoken out, was overwhelmed by the air and stiffened.
Qin Lev had wanted to say something only to be stopped by Meilin who still had no expression on her face and had elegantly raised her hand.
Meilin saw the notification on her phone that had just popped up and relaxedly stood up.
That reporter was still standing even though his legs had turned jelly, well, he couldn’t sit even if he wanted to in this condition… watching her move towards the side of the stage with slow but domineering steps, without giving him even a look as if, he was too below to be in the range of her grace, the reporter couldn’t help but tremble as he finally understood the position he was in…
No matter how the Government reacted, in a situation where they were facing this woman who didn’t follow the rules, even if they won’t accept her, it was not a good idea to make an enemy out of her… he will definitely be discarded!
Just what had happened to him?
Meilin only cared about her own business and simply did what she wanted to.
When the man had started talking whatever he had wanted to, Meilin was unimaginably calm… The anger that had risen inside her yesterday was no longer there because what she was suppressing right now to hide her emotions behind this cold facade was way terrifying than anyone could ever imagine…
Just to give a glimpse, she had actually wanted to take control of the army of the country for herself… but she had suppressed them all…
The reason?
It was still the same, she didn’t want her family to be dragged into this storm.
Anyway, Meilin connected her phone to the laptop and after typing some commands, she walked back… this was her zone now.
She came out and stood at the centre with the huge screen on the back that was sharing screen with her laptop.
Nobody knew what she was doing but no one dared to peep.
Meilin lightly pressed on the remote in her hand and the screen showed the current construction rate of the collaboration project between Qin and WPJ along with the expected view of how it was going to change, “This project was supposed to be the largest project that Qin would take for the year and expected date of finishing the construction is around a year, that is towards the end of March next year…”
There was complete silence, half of them were silent because this was the first time they got a real update of the renovation project, that was the largest project under Qin till date, while the other half had caught upon the cue ‘supposed to be‘…. This woman was mad!!
What was she trying to do?
