The next day, they again went for an appointment with the doctor in the evening.

Compared to the first day, there was, of course, a change in the two’s behaviour… the air between them was a lot more ambiguous and they were acting lie two lover birds who can’t stay away from the other even by a distance of 1mm; though it was open for the world to see, it was hard to believe that they still hadn’t established their relationship considering the amount of PDA and dog-food being thrown at them!

The little amount of insecurity on both ends had also visibly lessened; ZiXuan could see that Meilin still cared a lot for him even when she had supposedly lost her memories, didn’t that mean it had become a part of her subconscious or unconscious even… as for the form of emotion it was, he would wait it out and if in the off-chance, she didn’t remember, this time around he will make sure it is similar to what he felt for her, on the other hand, Meilin was feeling envy of her past self, but ZiXuan treated her the same, he didn’t force her to remember that past, he just silently stayed by her side, supporting her…

The two were very happy with their current relationship… and it won’t be long before they actually go on to establish the same.

ZiXuan helped her to the hospital room after he got his check-up done… he had to go to the gang’s location again so, they thought that it would be better for her to stay in the hospital as she could ask for help fairly easily compared to being alone in the hotel suite.

After ZiXuan left, Meilin felt a little bored and thought to visit the lawn beside the hospital building to get some fresh air.

It was already in the afternoon and the temperature was quite high outside, but there were a lot of trees surrounding the premises and it was rather comfortable; Meilin was followed by her group of bodyguards, they still weren’t aware that she had lost her memories and not just her sight, because there was not much difference in her behaviour, and this particular scene of half-a-dozen of well-built men following a young lady in the wheelchair, attracted a lot of attention in the masses, not that they cared, but a certain person who has been waiting for the young lady got this information faster because of this.

Meilin didn’t mind the guards following her, well, in her current state complaining otherwise seemed harder plus, she knew it will be even harder to defend herself in this foreign found with a handicap.

A few minutes in, she felt a gaze on her, call it her intuition, but it was no way a friendly gaze, but at the same time, not filled with murderous intent as well.

Meilin raised an eyebrow as she whispered out a, “…two o’clock.”

The guards became alert and as for her inhuman perception skills, well, that had seen too much of her that they weren’t surprised by anything anymore, in the first place, they too had seen some unusual movements from that side so, the reality of one her being slightly handicapped actually sank faster…

In the distance, a man with gentle features stood under the sun which, instead, blinded their vision but just when they thought that he will run away after he noticed their eyes, he actually arrogantly walked towards them; in spite of themselves, the guards were nervous, it wasn’t every day they saw a single man walk up to them without care, the thought of him having arms or even a bomb crossed their mind; Meilin had always given them orders that a common man should never be involved in their scuffle, it was their moral base and so, this being a hospital didn’t actually help there!

Meilin, on the other hand, was quite calm when she was notified of the person’s movements, considering what has happened till date and after she found out about what actually transpired in the recent operation, she had a faint guess on the identity of this person.

The same night Meilin and ZiXuan woke up, there was also another person who woke up in the underground hall of the base.

As usual, it was dark in that area, but this person was like a fish in the pond and seemed very used to it, well, in spite of his looks, he was 34 years old and has been living here for the last two decades just after his mother was killed by his father and he killed his father for revenge… this place had become his solace and his ‘home’, even though he knew that he had become a monster dying for some action, he still stayed back with the Boss even when there was no particular promise or vow to keep…

It was simply the fact that when he had just killed his father and was wandering around the street like a fugitive, Mu Tianluo who had just become a father of ‘his’ child with his beloved, he had taken pity on him and brought him back here… no matter how much of a maniac he was, he still knew how to repay his gratitude and for the next 20 years or so, he fought for the man with his life on the line.

In the first few years, without any martial art background, he almost died many times and was gravely injured, though the man hadn’t cared anymore, he was probably seeing the man in place of his father and just worked harder…

Time passed by and his grasp on many things even outside of the gang increased, it would be a lie if he said he didn’t see the speculative and cautious look in his boss’ eyes, but he had indeed become too stronger… that day when that woman called out for a bet and he was picked up, in spite of himself, he knew why he was chosen, the fact that it wasn’t only because of his strength hurt him more than he expected but still, he had fought hard and lived the best moments of his life as he could fight such a strong opponent, though he didn’t expect he would lose, he had no regrets and wouldn’t have minded if he died… but he still woke up.

He had done too many heinous things while fighting for this man and had done enough to repay his gratitude, but having spent this long here, even when treated like that, there was still a sense of belonging plus he didn’t know what he would do without him, all these years his life was indeed revolving around him, you see.

But first of all, he had to get out of here…

He didn’t have a single garment on him but he also wasn’t bound, this place was built to his liking so, he knew the ins and outs like the back of his hand; he wondered why he wasn’t drugged, the only weakness he felt was because of the wounds he suffered during that fight and after a long rest, they also didn’t hurt as much… he actually tried his lock and walked up to the door… it was actually open.

The thought of it being a trap crossed his mind but he knew the bait was too hard to refuse!

As he walked out butt n.a.k.e.d, at the distance, he actually found some clothes on the ground… ‘what the hell is going on..?’, he thought… but when he picked it up, he saw a small note that read;

He didn’t see anyone nor did anyone try to stop him… his pace increased.

On the monitoring room, Xiao Bai looked at the man who had walked passed another of the hidden cameras… in spite of himself, this was actually not a trap and he was still against releasing this man… he was too dangerous, but this was the collective will of the people that followed him and ZiXuan… they all had been saved by this particular man, even though he did it for his own good and it was only this time that they will let him go…
