Meilin was actually not too sure about this, but when he didn’t attack her, she thought that she should make a gamble… she had a hunch, she won’t lose out on anything.

Guan Li gave her a look and saw that her gaze was focused on him… he had been acting like a vagabond after he ran away from that place and when he had decided to end his life which didn’t have any meaning left…this happens.

This woman said similar things as Mu Tianluo but he wasn’t as repulsed by it as he thought he would be.

He won’t lie that he wasn’t tempted, but he wasn’t sure why his instincts were telling him not to accept it…

Meilin easily took a step back, “… Get yourself treated fast… the stench of blood is a bit annoying. We can discuss everything later… Of course, I haven’t forgiven you, just that… you seem quite useful.”

Guan Li was escorted by four of her guards considering they still didn’t believe in him as the other two escorted her to her ward… enemies met in narrow roads, it already happened once and she had a hunch that it will happen again and so, she would rather be inside the building than in this open ground.

Meilin was bored, well, even this feeling was noble to her.

She ran a fever when she had fainted and so, the AC was switched off; Meilin who was feeling a bit restless opened the window and let some gentle breeze, courtesy the trees outside, get in… it definitely calmed her down.

She was about to doze off and enjoy a good nap time when she got a call from Qian Cheng again.

Meilin received the call and without getting the chance to ask him anything–

< “Hello… Boss, I think the other party is the Xun family. As you ordered, we asked for help from the cyber-security team and they said that the server was close to a certain area. I searched for the same and it just so happens that the Xun family was located there and there is also a photograph of Miss Luli and CEO ZiXuan dining together making rounds on the internet at the moment; this doesn’t seem like a coincidence. The picture was also published this morning and though we are trying to suppress it, they were prepared and some independent publishing sites made it into the headlines; everything happened in a span of few hours… I’ve trying to reach you….but…”>, Qian Cheng has been indeed trying to reach her but Meilin had left her phone unattended in spite of herself.

Meilin heard him and gave it a thought before replying, “…I was a bit busy and didn’t see it…. Xun family? What are they selling the photo for..?”

Qian Cheng could decipher her words and replied,

<“…her fans are saying that they are a ‘couple made in heaven’ and it will be the ‘marriage of the century’, the whole network is in a frenzy… As you had ordered earlier this month, we have already withdrawn a lot of our capital from their showbiz venture, but we were not sure about this issue of engagement as the Chairman didn’t give any comments on the matter as well… I tried to call CEO Qin but he also didn’t respond. What should our next step?”>, this was the only problem, as workers under the Qin, in this sort of situation, independently making a decision became impossible.

Meilin froze when she heard that ‘marriage of the century’, she didn’t know why but it was as if, her soul quivered violently… she was really repulsed by the idea it seems… it didn’t sit well with her and so, without thinking, she directly ordered, “Suppress the whole thing… no need to care about what the public thinks, it won’t affect us. When I go back, I’ll clear it myself, no need to worry about it. Continue doing the work and everyone is warned not to open their mouth and make any sort of comment on this situation. I won’t like to hear news otherwise… am I clear?”, her voice as distant and cold as it used to be.

But in reality, she was not as unperturbed as she sounded… she still hadn’t gotten any confirmation of their relationship and this news definitely shook her; she felt sick and suffocated when she thought that ZiXuan was actually engaged to someone else…

The thought of, ‘Why is that not me?’ dominated her brain and heart… the thought of ZiXuan becoming someone else’s partner was simply repulsive!

When she was trying to retrospect, she heard a knock on the door.

“hm… What is it?”, she asked.

A guard came in to report about a guest.

Meilin had a frown and asked for the name; as they had discussed earlier, nobody was actually aware of her current location, she didn’t want to create a big wave or unrest plus, the news would be rather detrimental for the business and so, she was waiting for, at least, her vision to return before she took any decision and so, it was impossible for anyone to come here to ‘visit‘ her…

“Boss, it’s Xun Luli. She said she had something important to talk about and isn’t leaving”, indeed she had been standing outside for half an hour now and the guard finally came in to address her on the matter.

‘Talk about coincidences…’, she thought as she told the guard to let her in.

To be frank, she actually didn’t know this woman, ZiXuan hadn’t talked about her at all and from what she heard just now, it seems, she was indeed connected to him; she wondered where this sudden possessive streak came from, but she really abhorred her presence in his life–

Xun Luli hadn’t slept for days when she heard that ZiXuan was kidnapped and considering what she had seen a few days ago in the gym plus, adding it up to the news that Qin Meilin had taken over the position of the Chairman’s proxy, she was sure that this woman was evil…

She definitely did something to ZiXuan to get this position; she wasn’t usually like this, but as if, someone had hypnotised her, this thought became speculation and with time, it dominated her and before long, she thought of it as the reality and wanted to rescue him.

Xun Luli wanted to give the Qin, especially Meilin,a chance to repent for their sins, but they didn’t in the end… her father was also trying to stop her from creating a ruckus because of what happened to their business, but she couldn’t sit still when she thought how ZiXuan must be ‘waiting‘ for her…

Even the world seemed to fulfil her wish and before long, she got some news about Qin Meilin from a friend in her circle…

The world was really just, that woman got her karma and it seems she had lost her memories… she thought she should get rid of her first… she was evil, a villainess in their love story… now that the universe was supporting her destined fate, she had to end it for good!!

As Xun Luli entered her ward, she was actually surprised by how normal it looked; wasn’t she an heiress and her guards were also following her so, why is she admitted to this sort of place… Yes, though this was VIP room, it was still part of a government facility and there was not much difference except for it being a single room…. Xun Luli confirmed that she had indeed lost her memory and wasn’t aware of her identity… her confidence saw an exponential rise.

Well, as for the truth, it was just that they didn’t think of it as necessary to change location as the facility was on par with their needs.

Anyway, Xun Luli looked at Meilin and proudly declared, “Hello, Miss Meilin. You don’t remember me, but I know you quite well. Let me introduce myself… I am Xun Luli. Our family isn’t as huge as yours but we are not far behind; I studied together with ZiXuan in college and we have been a relationship since then… he is my fiance…”, she declared. Anyway, Xun Luli didn’t stop there; she saw Meilin frown as she had her head down and spoke, “… You should leave my ZiXuan alone… He isn’t your plaything…. Qin family was indeed good to him for a few years, but he has done enough for you!! Let him live his life… We will be happy together! So, please stop this madness… I don’t know how you lost your memory or, if this is another of your crooked plan… but please give my ZiXuan to me!! I know that it was you who kidnapped him… You or your subordinate must know where he is… So, just tell me his location! If you want to… I will never appear in front of you and will leave a quite life with ZiXuan… we will never be an obstacle in front of you!”, her act at its climax, she was already shedding beautiful tears as she said, “…please…. leave us alone!”, the way she said those things painted Meilin in a bad light without even trying… she just ‘guessed‘ the occurrences, but if one didn’t know better, they would easily believe this farce and think that Meilin was the evil witch!
