Ceo Unrivaled - Chapter 271
Several times the phone rang loudly in Jonathan’s hand. And then the automatic call operator consequently announced a busy line spiel. His companions furrowed their brows and looked at one another.
“Mr. Ching is a difficult man. He is greedy and only thinks of his gains. But, why would he trust teenagers to pretend to be the owners of his business? From what I could remember, he is hands-on with everything in his company,” one of the men expressed his doubt.
Jonathan released a long sigh. “There is no need to bother the old man. He may not be in district 7 right now. Perhaps, that boy had just the same last name as him.”
“That’s right! I don’t think old man Ching would send his son to study in this district. The profile says this boy is a senior high school student. It’s probably just a mere coincidence,” his companions supported.
“Hmmn, I’m really curious about these teens. Since my private investigator sent their profiles, he should have already verified that they are the new owners. Hmmp! I have done so much effort just to make the first owner of that location for him to give up his business. Yet, these teens have managed to snatch the outcome of my effort! This may not be so simple as what we think,” Jonathan mumbled coldly. He placed the files back in the envelope and put them aside.
“Should we use the same tricks to remove them, Mr. Soo?” one of the men inquired.
“The same tricks? If you want to send gangsters to the wedding to cause trouble, then, we will be implicated! Do you think the Lee family or the mayor would allow their event to be ruined? And this is a wedding!” his other companion debated.
“If only its just an ordinary businessman, there should be no problem with our tricks. But with the family of the mayor and also the Lee family as the first client, it is really difficult,” Jonathan gritted his teeth.
“Do you mean, we just give up the location? We already prepared plans for the expansion of our business!”
Jonathan shook his head. “Let’s not alarm our main enemy. The teens might just really be their upfront to maintain low attention from the other competitors. Since we don’t know the real backgrounds of the people behind this business, we have to observe their actions first.”
“Ehhh? How about we cancel our official business meeting in district 6? We can spend our time to visit them at the wedding reception this Saturday. The news says every citizen is invited to join the party. Let’s see if we can spot an unfamiliar big shot there.”
“That’s the most suitable idea for now. Mr. Soo, your private investigator did not include the family background of these teens. It should mean that their family is not part of the business, right?”
“My private investigator is excellent in gathering information. I think… that is also the reason why there are no family backgrounds of them in these documents. We cannot underestimate whoever this person is,” Jonathan confirmed. ‘This time, I may no longer be able to use the same method as the last time to kick out these teens. How interesting. To be able to acquire the location within my watch is almost an impossible task. Tsk!’
While these men could only draw assumptions about their competitors, the main person responsible for their sudden anxiety was just watching some videos about proper posing and modeling. To be specific, after Sofia returned to her apartment, she stayed in her room and had been studying for techniques on how to properly pose for their scheduled sneaker shooting.
“There is really a reason why modeling agencies exist. Although posing for a picture looked simple but in reality, models need to find the right angle, their expressions, and gestures every time they change poses,” Sofia pondered. “I hope we can pull this off.”
This endorsement project was not something that in her past life nor the original owner of her body had done before. And for that reason, she had to make all preparation for it.
While Sofia was immersed in watching video clips, Jing Jing and Heiz were hanging in her living room. They have different tasks to accomplish too.
On the sofa, Heiz was still reviewing the sample entries of the business book of accounts. She was still using Jing Jing’s phone and there was a white earphone connected to her ear. Her baby was sleeping in her lap with pillow support.
Meanwhile, Jing Jing was also sitting on a chair situated just opposite to Heiz. She was operating Sofia’s laptop and was dealing with the fans of the Chronos squad on her social media accounts.
The three of them had settled in silence, minding their own tasks. In the apartment, only the sound of the laptop keyboard keys could be heard around them. It was as if the apartment of Sofia had become their office.
When the clock turned 3 PM, Hazel woke up. Heiz picked her in her arms and stood from her seat.
Jing Jing looked at her and clapped her hand. “Good morning, princess. Are you hungry, baby girl?” She playfully said. Her voice mimicked that of a child. For a while, she just stared at the baby while the baby was also staring full of curiosity at her.
Then she switched her line of vision to Heiz, “Do you need help, Heiz?”
“It’s okay, ma’am,” Heiz softly replied.
Jing Jing sighed and slightly shook her head. She had been reminding Heiz not to call her ‘ma’am’. However, the girl still insisted. She even told Sofia to tell Heiz not to call her with such honorifics. But, Sofia only scratched her head and told her not to mind.
When Jing Jing resumed doing her task, she suddenly noticed an abnormal influx of notifications in Sofia’s account. The notifications were all the same. Most netizens were tagging Sofia to a certain video with the title, the true representative of district 7.
“So many tags! What is this video all about?” Jing Jing mumbled and clicked the link to the video. It was just posted 2 minutes ago. As she waited for the entire clip to load, a frown appeared on her forehead. Little by little, familiar faces appeared on the screen. The same arrogant faces that she had seen before.
At the same time, Sofia stepped out of her room. It was just in time for her to see the bothered expression of Jing Jing.
“Is there a problem, sister Jing? You look like you want to murder the laptop screen?” Sofia joked.
“AH! No, hehe… I’m just irritated a little bit. Miss Sofia, the netizens are tagging you with a video. It was created by the group of arrogant students that we have met in the bureau,” Jing Jing reported. She clicked the play button to start the video.
“An interview?” Sofia whispered. The setting of the video was indeed an interview. There were five students sitting on a sofa with an almost identical smug expression on their faces.
Interviewer: Please introduce your squad name and members to our audiences and share with us the motivations and goals that you have.
Squad Leader: Hello! We are the Gallant Gamers. I am Captain Rey the core. This is Fadian, our mid laner. And Harold… off lane. Then, Sebastian and Oliver tank and support. We would—
Jing Jing suddenly paused the video. “Why is that boy announcing their positions? Is it necessary to tell the positioning in the match?”
Sofia only shrugged. “That is probably his way of saying that he is not afraid of any opponents even if their strategy is revealed. Please play it again… why am I being tagged in this video if this is just their interview?”
With Sofia’s instruction, Jing Jing immediately clicked the play button.
Squad leader: We would—like to take this opportunity to call out that arrogant squad leader of the Chronos squad. Cheh! Since you are so confident this morning, how come you do not dare to register as a participant in the tournament yet? Could it be that you are scared? Are you afraid to fight against us? What a coward!
Interviewer: So, Captain Rey, you are directly calling CEO UNRIVALED a coward because of not registering her squad as participants?
Just after that, Sofia’s fingers reached her laptop and moved the cursor on the close button. A single click sound and the video panel in the screen went off.
Jing Jing looked at her with a glint of confusion in her eyes.
“He is just like that. It’s sad to see my schoolmates embarrass themselves in the public. They still carry the same institution as me,” Sofia sighed. “Sister Jing, don’t respond to the tags. Just ignore them.”
Such a scene had really irked Sofia that she could not bear to continue watching the video clip. She has no problem being provoked. But, this immature way of provocation is something that she does not want to deal with.
“Okay. Miss Sofia, I really admire your maturity. Even if you are still in your teens, you already have great self-awareness,” Jing Jing casually expressed.
“Sister Jing, it seems like you have so much faith in me. But, I am not perfect. I just think of what is right and wrong and ponder how to deal with the situation before making a decision,” Sofia giggled and looked at her in the eyes. ‘If only there’s a way to explain my strange circumstance…. I will definitely tell you that we have already met in my past life.’
