Ceo Unrivaled - Chapter 282
DEATH’s expression turned dark and gloomy while staring at his mobile screen. His members glance at him and give him a confused look.
“Boss DEATH, you said to give him a gift in his stream. Why is the FAB_Gamer squad leader doing that kind of shout-out? His fans are crazy… they will surely mock us!” Last_HP softly mumbled.
“This guy…” DEATH could only provide a harsh whisper, unable to find the right word to describe his former friend. He did not even look up and just stared at the face of WINS on his screen.
After a few seconds, he quickly closed his social media account and switched to his inbox. Subconsciously, his jaw clenched while his thumbs started to type a message in all uppercase letters: WHAT THE F*CK WINS! ****
The issue was clear to them. WINS had really crossed the boundary of their privacy!
In terms of the fan base, there was no doubt that FAB_Gamers squad was more popular than the Slayer_Gods. And the main reason for it was because the Slayer_Gods lacked engagement to their fans. They only reveal their faces when streaming but the other personal data of their members were kept away from the public eye. And they mostly avoided socializing too.
To put it simply, the members of the FAB_Gamers squad were all extroverts. They can make their fans happy with their streams. They know how to tease them in a fun and not offensive way.
As for the members of the Slayer_Gods squad, they were mostly introverts. Even DEATH was very selective to people that he associate and socialize with. Their fans could not help but also lose interest in them and shift their attention to WINS and his teammates.
In comparison to the Chronos squad, if there was one thing that DEATH and Sofia were in common, it was that they value their privacy. And if there was also one thing that WINS and Sofia was in common, it was that they know how to socialize.
“Boss DEATH, I’m getting several direct messages in my personal account. This joke is not funny anymore. Please talk with WINS!” Lifeless_Combo started while scrolling at the unread messages notification on his phone.
On the other hand, his other companions were still petrified. For a while, they just stared at the live stream of the game on their phone where WINS character was obviously about to defeat its opponent.
“Shameless!!! WINS is on purpose! We never reveal our personal account in public yet he— he intentionally mentioned all of our identities! Not only that, but he also includes our squad!” Extinction finally reacted. He was probably the most open member of their squad. Yet, he also felt offended by the shout-out.
“Boss DEATH, what are we going to do? Should we deactivate our personal account first?” Lifeless_Combo inquired.
“I’m doing that now. I’m deactivating! WINS is really putting us on the spot when he knows our fans and his fans are having war! Now, his fans are posting memes and jokes against us,” Extinguisher_Mage stated and quickly deactivated his account.
“We used our personal account for the gift to be discreetly sent to his stream! We did not ask for any shout-out! He should understand that right? Yet, he just had to really expose our identities! What’s wrong with him?!” Extinction gritted his teeth. Even if he was a flirt and had many flings with other gamers, no one had also been able to trace his personal account before.
“I’m no longer in the mood to practice. Let’s play tomorrow. Go back to our villa for now and rest. I’ll confront WINS when there is an opportunity,” DEATH finally sighed and exited the room.
While the Slayer_Gods walked towards their residence, WINS continued streaming in his place. In fact, his shout-out was actually misunderstood. If only DEATH and his members watched his stream longer, they would have seen that WINS was actually promoting them as the representative of their club in the regional tournament!
After the stream, WINS saw the number of angry emoticons that DEATH sent to his chatbox. He frowned and immediately called him. In just one ring, the call was automatically connected…
“What are you angry for? You’ve flooded my inbox with angry stickers!” WINS questioned in a very confused tone.
On the other line, DEATH was just about to enter his villa when his phone vibrated. He did not hesitate to press the answer button after seeing WINS’ name on his screen.
“WHY THE HECK DID YOU DO THAT?!” DEATH expressed coldly. His members were startled by his sudden outburst. But soon, they also figured out who their squad leader was talking with.
“Huh? What did I do?” WINS question. He picked up his keys and walked towards the door. “Let’s not talk over the phone. Where are you, I’m about to head out.”
“I’m outside my squad’s villa. What you did was not really nice. All of us are pissed! If you have the guts, then come and explain yourself! Explain in front of my members!” DEATH demanded.
“I don’t need the guts to decide if I will come. I’m on my way to your place,” WINS stated and ended the call. He placed his phone in his pocket and pulled open the door of his villa. “I’m going out to take fresh air for a bit, guys! Don’t stay up late too much!” he told his members before stepping outside. He locked the door and swiftly walked towards the direction of the Slayer_Gods villa.
When WINS was a few meters away, he saw the five figures standing outside the Slayer_Gods villa. No matter how DEATH tried to convince his members that he would talk WINS alone, they insisted on sticking with him.
“You were fine when you left my place. Now, you look like your girlfriend broke up with you,” WINS started with a cool expression on his face. He stared at DEATH in the eye before he looked at his members one after another. “What happened to all of you?”
“Squad leader WINS, you know what you did! Please don’t act ignorant!” Extinction almost yelled in anger.
“Let’s get straight to the point and not waste our time. WINS, I asked my members to send your stream a gift with good intentions. We even use our personal accounts to avoid controversy. But, you actually shout out not only our in-game name but also our squad! Why did you do that?” DEATH demanded.
“What’s wrong with it?” WINS fired back.
“It’s our personal account! We did not even reveal our real names in public. But, you just had to mention all our identities in that stream! We did not ask for any exposure!” DEATH clenched his hands into a fist. His eyes were glaring directly at WINS.
“Give or take, there is really nothing in your personal accounts other than your faces and your first names. You rarely post anything other than gaming memes. It’s worst than your gaming account. So, what data was exposed to my fans? Don’t tell me, all of you are offended because I’ve mentioned your real names?” WINS questioned.
“That is exactly the reason! You have told the public of our real names! We have no choice but to deactivate our personal accounts! Now our gaming accounts are also bombarded with so many bashers teasing us for giving you gifts,” Extinction stated.
“Ohh… please! That is just your name, CLARENCE! I don’t understand why it’s a big deal! Sooner or later, your names will be announced in the tournament,” WINS shrugged. He now really used the real name of Extinction and give him a serious look.
“WHAT? W-what do you mean sooner or later, squad leader WINS?” Last_HP questioned. He somehow maintained politeness in his tone.
“Ohhh… you guys did not look at your contracts thoroughly, did you? You just signed them?” WINS smirked. He slowly walked to the side and gave the group a smirk.
“The club arranged our participation in the tournament. So, we did not read its contract! Just speak it directly! No need to show off like this!” DEATH stated. His members also looked at one another and sensed a foreboding feeling.
WINS rolled his eyes and chuckled, “You should read your contracts. In this regional tournament, the participants will undergo a preliminary interview.”
“The club already told us that there is an interview,” DEATH curtly said. His members also nodded their heads.
“Hehehe… Well, in the contract, it states there that the interviewer may ask personal information such as name, age, favorite food, favorite gaming character, and others that would interest the fans. Participants should be cooperative. This thing was emphasized in the contract after the dispute of the last tournament when the Chronos squad insisted on sticking to their exclusive press and refused the organizer for an interview,” WINS explained.
“…”
The entire Slayer_Gods became silent and frowned at the idea.
“Hahaha, blame yourselves for not reading it thoroughly. What if the club stated that you will also donate your kidney in that contract? Then, you will all lose your organ without even a proper reason! You are angry because I mentioned your names. Hmmph! It’s better to mention it now. At least, you will not feel anxious during the interview. If you guys think you can use a ‘yes’, ‘no’, and ‘maybe’ during the preliminary interview, you are so wrong! Hahaha… You should thank me for preparing your not so sociable brain cells!”
In an instant, their anger turned into an awkward feeling. “It’s our lapses for not reading the contract thoroughly,” DEATH admitted.
“I’m here to demand an apology. Come, I’d love to hear it from all of you,” WINS chuckled with a sly grin on his face.
“Don’t push your luck!” DEATH grumbled.
“WHAT? No apology and gratitude, Blake? Come on! I just promoted your squad in my stream!” WINS stated playfully.
“Hmmph! And we become the joke! You ask for a gift in your stream. I sent them in full. It should be the end of it. But now, our fans are arguing with your fans!” DEATH expressed.
“Since when did you care about your fans?” WINS laughed loudly.. Then, he turned around and started walking away.
