Ceo Unrivaled - Chapter 315
Danny carefully placed another plate and utensils across Sofia for Jing Jing. He then gestured a respectful bow to them before walking back to the counter table and started slicing tomatoes.
“Thank you, Danny!” Jing Jing expressed with a surprised expression on her face. But soon, she also took her spoon and put some portion of food on her plate.
“You’re welcome, Ms. Jing Jing,” Danny answered while arranging all the ingredients that he had chopped.
The chopping and click-clacking sound from the sink disappeared and other staff exited the kitchen area, carrying the clean plates and glasses. Only the three of them left, minding their own business.
Half an hour later, Sofia finished her food. She silently gazed at Jing Jing and noticed that the lady was casually eating a small portion of food from time to time while sorting the list of their customers’ reservations. ‘Perhaps, she was eating out of courtesy to Danny’s gesture?’ Sofia smiled and wiped the side of her mouth.
“Sister Jing, when we arrived, the van could no longer find a parking space. The cars outside can cause heavy traffic in the street,” Sofia opened as she grabbed a glass of water from the side. She then took a sip and carefully place the glass back on the table.
Jing Jing raised her head and put her phone on the table. She made a momentary pause to consider Sofia’s concern. There was really never serious traffic in the entire district 7. Hence, she did not think it was a problem if their customer would park their car on the side of the road.
“Heavy traffic? Hmm… Miss Sofia, when I was still in the press company, sometimes, we also park our service vehicle on the side of the road just like that. There is not much traffic anyway and other businesses normally do this,” Jing Jing finally stated. Since their district is not developed yet, it was impossible for her to imagine what Sofia meant by heavy traffic congestion.
“I see,” Sofia made a consideration. She did remember when she went around the business in the district that it was rare to see official private parking spaces near them.
But shortly after, she could not also reconcile the idea of letting their customer follow what was being practiced in their district. She took a deep breath and clasped her hand. Then, she continued, “However, sister Jing, it’s better to check if we can acquire the lots nearby so we can provide a proper parking space for the customers. We should take responsibility for this matter. If any accidents occur, we will be held liable. It may cause us troubles.”
“Uhhm… troubles? What could go wrong? They are just parking on the side of the road, not in the center. I think it’s fine, Miss Sofia. And it’s their car… we have no liability on it,” Jing Jing reasoned. The liability she meant was also understood by Sofia. What Jing Jing meant was simply, since they are car owners, it’s their responsibility to find a parking space.
“Though it’s not our company cars, customers will still prefer what are convenient for them. Parking space is necessary for us. As for the accidents… I’m just worried if something like a fire or medical-related emergency happened near our area, the privately-owned cars outside would hamper the road,” Sofia supplied, expressing more of how serious the impact would be if they don’t provide appropriate space for parking.
“Ah! E-Emergency? T-That makes sense! After all, this is the intersection street. This kind of thing is indeed possible in this area.” Jing Jing nodded her head several times. Her expression turned serious. Sofia did not need to convice her further as she also understood the reputation of intersection street.
“That’s right. Sister Jing, please help me process our acquisition of parking space,” Sofia expressed. When it comes to this matter, only Jing Jing is convenient to transact serious business on behalf of their company as she was older than all of them to sign legal papers.
“Miss Sofia, this is indeed an urgent concern for the business and cannot be neglected. Don’t worry, I will handle the parking space. I’ll check if there are property owners around here that are willing to sell us their lot,” Jing Jing affirmed.
“Thank you, sister Jing. Leave the customer’s reservation to me. I will do that in the meantime,” Sofia said. She reached her arm on Jing Jing and opened her palm. Jing Jing complied and put her phone in Sofia’s hand.
“I’m just arranging the reservation schedule because this list is not yet in order. If you don’t understand, you can just leave this to me once I come back. I’ll go and see the property owners first, Miss Sofia,” Jing Jing excused.
“Finish your food first, sister Jing. No rush, hehehe,” Sofia chuckled after seeing there was still a portion of chicken on Jing Jing’s plate.
“Ahh… yes, yes,” Jing Jing slightly laughed and grabbed her fork. She directly took the piece of chicken and chew it. Her movement was fast that Sofia could not help but slightly raised her eyebrows while watching her.
“Sister Jing, slow down. The matter of parking space may be urgent. But… j-just eat properly, sister Jing. If you choked in your food, I can’t drive you to the hospital. I have no driver’s license,” Sofia playfully said. But, there was an obvious concern laced in her tone.
“Hahaha, Miss Sofia, don’t joke like that. I’m fine. You know in press work we eat like this because we have to go live most of the time,” Jing Jing easily wiped her lips and stood from her seat. “I’ll go ahead and see if I can find an available lot for sale around.”
Sofia nodded her head and gazed at their plates on the table. She had a sympathetic look on Jing Jing’s back as the lady walked towards the exit. ‘At this time, sister Jing has a wildness and carefree character. But, during my past life, I have never seen this side of her. She was always poised and formal,’ Sofia mentally thought.
“Miss, I’ll clean your table,” a staff suddenly emerged and quickly took away the empty plates.
Sofia offered a formal smile towards the staff before she shifted her eyes to Jing Jing’s phone. She double-tapped the screen and the screensaver photo quickly lit up.
The reservation list was just on the notepad but it was not hard for her to understand the pattern that Jing Jing started. The first entry displayed on the screen was the date of the reservation and then it followed the name of the customers and the corresponding table they were reserved.
With the list in her hand, Sofia soon immersed herself in synchronizing the reservations. Such data in front of her was just a trivial matter in her eyes. It only took her 10 minutes for her to finish everything.
Upon finalizing the list, Sofia could not help but think of the outcome of their shooting. Her mind slowly wandered to the possible outcome of the unfinished photo shoot.
Even though the salary of their squad was already fixed in their contract and it was forwarded by manager Lan, she was still worried about it.
Sofia, for some strange reason, was extremely worried about the overall result of their shooting.
Perhaps, it was because her mindset is on business that she could relate to the overall outcome of the endorsement to the shoe company. It was not just for the sake of them as endorsers and gaining their money. She really wants to product to sell and make a profit.
‘Our photo shoot was brief. Hopefully, the result will still give the positive effect of the profit return of the shoe company.’
While Sofia was in a daze, Danny walked towards her. He waved a hand near her face to get her attention.
“Miss Sofia, I have finished an improvised small garden at the back. Do you want to see it?” Danny said after noticing that Sofia was no longer paying attention to the phone in her hand.
“The garden? Yes, let’s see! Hehe,” Sofia quickly put aside her worry and followed Danny.
“It’s better to place them like this. Once they grow roots, I will replant them,” Danny stated. There were seeds and stems of vegetables on different plastic that he improvised as pots.
Sofia smiled at his arrangement. ‘To think that one of the leaders of the Double Sigma fraternity is capable of doing agriculture,’ she mentally commented.
“Well done, Danny! I was also raised in the mountains and saw my grandparents do this to our vegetables,” Sofia complimented.
“I—” Danny muttered only to stop and did not finish his sentence.
Sofia recognized the combination of nostalgia and melancholy on his face. She could tell that there was something that was in his mind. But, he seemed uncomfortable sharing his thoughts.
“Well done! ” Sofia repeated. Her tone was full of understanding. Just like her situation, some pasts are not meant to be spoken. As long as his fraternity won’t plot and harm her group, Sofia would not also force them to open up to her.
“Thank you, Miss Sofia,” Danny whispered his response and released a sigh.. With one last glance, they both returned to the kitchen and did not speak a word anymore.
