CEO Vengeful Wife - Chapter 59
The stage was very far from where Jing Lihua was standing so she couldn’t get a nice view. Besides the angle only made her see his side profile.
“Why is he here only now?”
“The previous display was only a warm-up. The real show will start now. The best selling fashion designer will put their items. So it is only right that he appears now.” Zhao Liying looked nervy. “I’ll leave now. Third turn’s mine”
Now that the matter with the Zhao Liying was resolved, Jing Lihua didn’t feel like attending the fashion show. She looked in the direction where President Li was standing. There was no way she could approach him with such a huge crowd surrounding him. Besides she had made all the other acquaintances she had enlisted before arriving here. She glanced at the spot where her seat would be. Besides her seat, Su Liwei’s seat was reserved.
Jing Lihua naturally didn’t like crowded places. She walked away and head for the terrace. Once she stepped out of the elevator, the roaring wind welcomed her. Jing Lihua walked to the edge of the terrace and folded her arms over it. She looked at the bustling city under her. Huge skyscr.a.p.ers lifted into the sky. A smile spread on her lips and she enjoyed the peace and quiet. In the company of silence, she didn’t know how much time had passed.
At her back, Jing Lihua heard the footsteps. They stopped at a certain distance from her.
Jing Lihua’s smile didn’t disappear. Instead, it deepened. She didn’t turn to look back who it was as she said. “How did you find I was here?”
The man walked to her side and leaned over the fence. He glanced at the spot where Jing Lihua’s eyes were fixed.
“You must be sad. All your effort of waking up so early in the morning went to waste.” Li Zhiqiang said. Jing Lihua had purposely left early in the morning to avoid being caught by him.
“No… If you could find a way to have a room adjacent to me, I knew you would easily find a way to know where I am.” She knew she couldn’t avoid him. And for some strange reason, that didn’t bother her as it did before.
“If I want to steal you, I must know where you are all the time.”
“You seem to take your job very seriously.” Jing Lihua laughed. She enjoyed his company.
“There hasn’t been any other job I’ve taken this seriously.” Li Zhiqiqnag glanced at the side profile of Jing Lihua. Her pale skin was soft and delicate, filling his heart with an indescribable urge to caress her soft cheeks and squash them. Her cinnabar red lips were titled up lightly. It looked like she was surrounded by a warm glow. Her beauty was ethereal making Li Zhiqiang feel like he could lose himself into such pleasant sight for eternity if he didn’t look away.
Jing Lihua smiled but didn’t say anything. They both fell into a comfortable silence as they looked into the distance.
“You like solitude.”
After a brief silence Jing Lihua said: “When I was young, my mother and I… let’s just say we were surrounded by a lot of bad people. Especially when there were crowds. We were given a lot of funny looks. Even inside the family, we were not treated any better. The only moments of peace I can recall are those spent in solitude with my mother… away from home. I don’t know even if I should call that hell place home.” Jing Lihua scoffed. “She used to take me to such isolated places. We didn’t use to talk much but we liked it… both of us. Away from the maliciousness of all the people. Where there are only two of us and we can drop our fears. This feeling is associated with my mother. So whenever I’m alone, I feel like she is just beside me.”
After some silence, Li Zhiqiqang asked: “Do I not interrupt your solitude?”
What Jing Lihua said next made his heart skip a beat. She glanced at him, tilted her head and smiled. The wind blew making the strands of hair behind her ear get free and caress her rosy cheeks.
“No… Instead, you make it even better.”
