Chasing My Dream Lover - Chapter 176:Typhoon Attack [1]
“What are you talking about ?!!” Mr. Yuan shouts to Yu Jin in shock. “Please, Uncle. We have no time! We need to leave this place immediately!!” Yu Jin urges him in desparation. He witnessed how terrible a typhoon could cause back then. It is not the typhoon that takes many victims, but the flash floods that come after it. The floods can go up to 5 meters with a heavy and fast water flow that can drift and drown people at ease.
“You’re not joking right, Kid ?!” Mr. Yuan confirms him again. “Sir! I am not crazy enough to kid about a matter like this!!” Yu Jin barks Mr. Yuan as he loses his patience. “O..Okay.. okay,” Mr. Yuan stuttered. “Now, please wake the rest of your family, bring only important things, and get out of here immediately!!” Yu Jin orders while he running upstair to Xiao Ping’s room.

“What..Where are we going ?” Xiao Lan asks still with his sleepiness. “Sst.. just come along, quick!” Xiao Ping orders him while forcing him wearing his rain coat. Yu Jin is about to carry Xiao Lan but Mr. Yuan forbids him. “No! It is faster if everyone walks in their own. Xiao Lan, Wake up!!!” he slaps his son cheek to wake him up. “Ough.. Yes, Dad.. I’m awake now!” Xiao Lan says a little sulky. Mr. Yuan doesn’t give him any care as he turns to his wife, “Ready ?” Mrs. Yuan nods.
Yu Jin comes to Xiao Ping’s side. “We should wake our neighboors, too,” she says with a thick regretful tone. “We have no time,” Yu Jin consoles her. They really has no time. According to the news he heard from military radio, the typhoon will catch Taipei at 5 AM. It is already 4.15 now. It was merely a luck that he initiatively turned on his military radio as he prepared himself back to ROCA this morning.
He hears Xiao Ping sobs. “Don’t cry, please..,” he whispers to her as he embraces her to console. “I feel so evil,” she says between her sobs, “At least we can wake Aunt Chang next door.” Yu Jin walks back to the gate they just passed. He takes some rocks then throws them one by one at the house’s windows. The rocks break the windows with loud voice. An old lady comes out with a wrath face. “Aunty!!! Quick!! There is typhoon coming!! Quick!! We need to leave!!!” Xiao Ping exclaims to the old lady before she can say a word.

The four of them, Xiao Ping, Yu Jin, Mrs. Chang, and her grand son walk fast. They are on their own as Xiao Ping’s family can not be seen anymore. The rain is pouring even faster and harder. It is even painful to the skin. Yu Jin embraces Xiao Ping to cover her a little bit from the rain. The wind blows against them, so the rain is also pouring toward them, making them harder to walk, even to see.
The wind is blowing harder. Some small and light things are starting to fly passing from oplosite direction. Xiao Ping stops for a second to take a breath. “Come, we must continue,” Yu Jin encourages her. “Wait a second, will you. I need a break. Aunty Chang and her grandson are also far behind,” Xiao Ping refuses him. Yu Jin wants to argue her, but when he sees how she is panting, he decides to let her take a break. It seems like they have walked so far, but in fact they are still less than a kilometer from her house.
Then, a loud roar comes from a far. At first, they only hear it faintly. But just a second later, the sound becomes vivid and louder, as there are more and bigger stuffs flying. Yu Jin looks behind them. The color on his face instantly drowns down. “Quick!! Run!! The typhoon is behind us!!” he exclaims as pointing at the huge swirling wind that moving closer to them. The wind is like a black giant monster. Xiao Ping screams with all her might. Yu Jin grabs her hands and pulls her to start running. They run as fast as they can. But it is an uphill road, so they can’t be as fast as they want while the typhoon chasing them with a constant speed. Xiao Ping turns her head when she hears a scream from behind, Mrs. Chang and her grandson is no longer there. Yu Jin pulls her harder. They run faster. But it is impossible to beat the speed of the typhoon. Soon, they start to realize their bodies are dragged to the center of the typhoon.
“Yu Jin!!!” Xiao Ping screams in fear. Her eyes widens in panic and desperation. Yu Jin looks around. They are in the middle of country road. No building on its sides, only trees, street lights, and fields. “Do you trust me ?” Yu Jin asks. “I do.. I do..” Xiao Ping says in panic. Yu Jin hugs her tight. “No matter what happen, don’t let go your embrace. Hold on to me tightly and hold your breath,” he says to her. Xiao Ping locks her grip around his body. “I love you,” Yu Jin whispers then kisses her. Before Xiao Ping can reply, the wind is already hit them. She screams as their bodies are flying and spinning inside the typhoon.
