‘Bring her in’ Grayson said after a minute of thinking.

‘And Edwin, ask our security to check the surroundings for any unusual moments. I am pretty sure Chris is planning something otherwise he would never send his girlfriend alone here’ he added as Edwin walked towards the door.

‘She’s not alone’ Edwin corrected as he turned to face his boss.

‘Then..?’

‘She’s here with two kids’

‘Two Kids..?’ Grayson asked raising a brow getting dubious.

Edwin nodded at his boss who looked very confused for a minute.

“Chris is definitely up to something! But what is it? I have to be careful…” Grayson told himself before signaling his assistant to bring them in.

‘Mr. Grayson?’ Hazel called out entering his office.

‘Hello…Ms. White! To what do I owe this pleasure?’ Grayson asked smiling but under his smile were masked thousands of questions filled with suspicions.

He observed her as she walked over to his desk, he couldn’t sense any nervousness from her rather she seemed calm and composed and the kids on the other hand accompanied her inside and was lost in their own little world playing in their respective tabs.

‘I just wanted to talk to you Mr. Grayson’ Hazel answered sitting in the chair in front of him. She asked the kids to sit in the nearby couch in his office and turned to face Grayson.

‘So are you gonna tell me why Chris sent you here?’ Grayson asked bluntly not buying her show.

‘Why would you think Chris send us here?’ she asked twitching the corners of her mouth in a light smile.

‘Right after I threaten him to harm you, you walk right into my door with his kids. It’s such a Finches move’ he answered in an unbothered tone.

‘Will you believe me if I told you that he has no idea of me being here?’ she asked looking up at him.

‘Look Miss, the Grayson’s would be a lot of stuff but we aren’t idiots’ Grayson answered in an annoyed tone.

“Does she take me for a fool?” Grayson wondered as he stared right at her hoping she would give up her act and spill the beans.

‘….’ Hazel fought the urge at laugh out loud before replying.

‘Wow…how smart! You got it’ she replied displaying a sarcastic smile.

‘Why do I feel sarcasm here, White?’ he asked bothered by how cool she was. Her projections led him to believe that she was telling the truth.

But why is she here? If it wasn’t because of Chris, then why is she here?

Grayson looked over to his Assistant, Edwin, who was standing there nearly as clueless as him.

‘Look Mr. Grayson, I am not here to see how smart you are in playing detective, so I am just gonna go right ahead and talk business’ she spoke out as he continued to stare at her in doubt.

‘Listening..!’ he told regaining his self.

‘Chris doesn’t know that I am here and I would like to keep it that way and I want you to listen carefully now…’

‘Mr. Finch! Ms. White has been reported to enter Grayson automobiles’ Steve said out loud dashing in through Chris’ office door.

‘WHAT…! I thought I told the driver to take her right home’ Chris asked shocked by the information he just received.

‘Well we did contact him and it seemed that Ms. White would have implied that it was okay to drive to the nearest shopping mall and you were okay with it and…’

‘Please don’t tell me she sneaked out of there…’ Chris interrupted hoping that it didn’t happen.

‘She sneaked out of there with the kids’ Steve replied in a low voice affirming it.

‘With the KIDS..? What is wrong with her?’ Chris yelled growing restless.

He loosened his tie marching forward and back in his office trying to think of a way to get Hazel and his kids out of there safely.

‘Ask our men to surround the place; we need to be ready in case of anything’ he ordered thinking if a more possible and stable solution to carry out.

‘But Mr. Finch, as soon as Ms. White entered the building Grayson’s security had the area secured’ Steve informed hesitating to carry out the order.

‘And I am afraid that if we take some action it would harm Ms. White and the kids’ he added as Chris looked into a distance completely shattered.

‘Steve, please give me some good news. I am starting to lose my mind here’ Chris said sighing loudly not understanding what Hazel was up to.

‘I can still track her phone’ Steve answered hoping it was some good news.

‘This is a disaster. Why will she take Rob and Aurora?’ Chris asked himself getting furious and scared at the same time.

One wrong move, it could cost them their lives.

“What does she think of herself, heroine of some spy movie? She doesn’t understand how cruel he could be? It’s my fault, I should’ve told her! I thought I shouldn’t worry her anymore and it led to this” Chris thought blaming himself for the mishap at hand.

‘Mr. Finch, what do we do?’ Steve asked worried about Chris’ silence.

‘Nothing!’ he answered looking at Steve.

‘But Mr. Finch…’

‘Just continue watching the security around and when they leave we’ll take action and till that see whether you can continue tracking her phone’ he instructed as Steve nodded silently.

‘Mr. Finch! Just a thought, you know since Ms. White’s phone is reachable why don’t you give her a call?’ Steve suggested as he reached through the door knob.

‘Let me see’ Chris nodded taking his phone to dial Hazel.

‘Chris, are you busy? Cause I could really use your help right now’ Ed said rushing inside Chris’ office.

‘Ed? What are you doing here?’ Chris asked confused on seeing his best friend literally running into his office.

‘I need some information about your previous business partner Mr.…’ Ed started trying to explain to Chris.

‘Not now Ed, I am working through a disaster’ Chris answered cutting him short of his response.

‘What’s wrong? You look terrified and also angry’ Ed asked reading the expression on Chris’ face.

‘It’s Hazel’ Chris answered putting his phone down.

‘What happened to Hazel? I heard Hazel, what’s wrong?’ Charlotte asked pushing her way through her brother.

‘What is she doing here?’ Chris asked as he saw Charlotte hurrying towards him.

‘Actually the favor was for her but she was way too proud’ Ed explained looking over his sister.

‘Ed quit it! Chris, tell me what’s wrong with Hazel?’ she asked signaling her brother to be quiet.

‘She went over to Grayson’s’ he answered looking at Ed.

‘So?’ Charlotte asked not understanding the problem in that.

‘But…wait a minute! So that’s why she called me’ Ed said remembering their conversation a few hours back.

‘She called you? Does that mean you knew?’ Chris asked shouting in disbelief.

‘Not really!’ Ed confessed as the conversation came dawning on him.

‘Hello? Ed?’  Hazel called out as the line went through.

‘Hey Haze! What’s up?’ Ed asked answering her call.

‘I just want to know something! Do you know anyone called Grayson? He was there at your engagement too’ she asked looking around the place she was standing in.

‘Oh you mean Denzel Grayson? Yeah I know him! Why do you ask? Did Chris tell you something?’ Ed asked skeptical about her sudden enquiry.

‘Yeah…! He was kinda confused on what business he was doing with you guys but didn’t want to directly ask you as it will look like he’s meddling with your business affairs’ she answered managing to come up with an excuse to not arise Ed’s suspicion.

‘Ohh…that! He signed a contract with us a few months back! My dad signed his company as a partner in our upcoming automobile project! It’s an overseas collaboration’ Ed replied glad that it wasn’t something he feared it would be.

‘That’s cool! I guess he was worried over nothing then but does Grayson have a company here?’ she asked carefully choosing her words.

‘Yeah he does! He owns the Grayson automobiles here’ Ed answered as he looked over at his secretary who was standing outside his office with the files he had asked for.

‘Oh thanks Ed! I will tell Chris and it would be better if you don’t tell him that I called. You know he hates it when I meddle with his business especially involving Grayson’ Hazel pleaded as she saw the driver walking over to her.

‘Yeah..! I am happy to help’ Ed replied signaling over to his secretary asking him to come in.

‘Bye Ed’

‘Why didn’t you tell me?’ Chris asked glaring at Ed who just finished elucidating his conversation with Hazel.

‘Hello? Weren’t you listening? She asked me not to’ Ed defended trying to escape the flame of fury flying towards him.

‘I am completely clueless on what to do’ Chris said sinking over in his chair.

‘Mr. Finch…? We are losing Ms. White’s phone signal’ Steve announced as he looked over his tab trying to track her down.

‘WHAT! Not good! Steve call the security, let’s go over’ Chris said grabbing his coat from his chair.

‘I will go with you’ Ed offered walking towards the door.

‘Guys wait!’ Charlotte said stopping them.

‘Is Grayson your nemesis or something?’ she asked trying to draw the clear picture here.

‘Yeah Charlotte..! But right now I don’t have time to explain things. I gotta go’ Chris answered rushing towards the door.

‘Guys just listen to me’ Charlotte yelled stopping them right in their tracks.

‘Char, what do you want?’ Ed asked annoyed by his sister’s behavior.

‘Why are you guys bothered by this? If Hazel went there willingly she knows what she’s doing, and in my opinion if you guys go now you are just gonna mess up her plan’ Charlotte answered walking over to the chair near Chris’ desk.

‘No Charlotte..! I get that she must have some plan but you guys don’t know Grayson’ Chris warned trying to make Charlotte understand.

‘No Chris! You don’t know Hazel’ Charlotte replied smiling proudly.

‘I see that you have activated the jammers here’ Hazel said looking over at the signal bar in her phone.

‘Yeah long before! I didn’t wanna take any chances just in case’ Grayson answered wiping his sweat off as Hazel walked towards the door wearing a triumphant smile.

‘You messed with the wrong person Ms. White’ Grayson said as she opened the door to leave.

‘No Mr. Grayson! You did!’ she answered turning to look back at him.

And just as she was about to step out, she turned and said;

‘And I wasn’t talking about Chris’ she explained and walked away with the kids.

‘I got that! I can’t believe she got away this easily’ Grayson yelled as he hit the table frustrated.
