Chronicles Of Arth: Prince Of Shadows - Chapter 247
Arth yawned.
He was lying on his bed, a lamp barely lighting up the book that sat between his hands.
On his head was a small black bird resting comfortably.
Arth placed the book down on a table before getting up. The movement awakened Corvus who let out a tiny peep before heading back to sleep.
“. . . . Adorable.”
No many how many times he heard Corvus, it was still adorable. He was so innocent and precious.
There was a sudden snore to the left of him. It was most likely Ron, he had a habit of snoring around this time.
Arth stared out the window and watched the night sky.
For some reason, he didn’t feel like reading anymore.
Arth proceeded to put on a pair of robes before heading out of the dormitory.
The common room was empty. The only sign of movement came from the flickering flames burning in the fireplace. Arth watched the warm glow for a minute before heading out of the portrait.
The fat lady was sleeping silently, which was both a relief and disappointment. He wouldn’t be able to get back in once he left, however, he wasn’t going to get caught walking around at night.
Arth closed the portrait before proceeding to walk.
It was 3 Am, Arth noticed when he glanced at a clock on a wall that was alertly measuring the time.
If he was caught, he would get in so much trouble. That is, if he could get caught.
Perhaps the light fit of laugher alerted Corvus, for he let out a tiny peep before shaking his head.
Corvus then proceeded to hop down his head and onto his shoulder. It let out a bother peep before rubbing its head onto Arth’s face.
“Sorry for waking you up Corvus.” Said Arth, knowing that Corvus didn’t really care.
As if replying to Arth, Corvus let out a hearty caw.
The two of them made their way around the castle, walking without a purpose other than observing the darkness.
After walking around for tens of minutes, Arth made his way to the Clock Tower. Whether it was instinct or not, he didn’t know.
When Arth reached the top, he stared out over the school grounds with a peaceful look.
Although it was the dead of night, lights flickered here and there, revealing the life of night.
“What has brought you here during this time?”
