Cold Hearted Devil Fell In Love - Chapter 129
You’re finally admitting that you knew the waiter?” Noah asked, he quirked his eyebrow he knew that it wouldn’t take Anna much time before she would confess.
“You… you would do so much for a woman!” Anna shook slightly as she shrieked at Noah, she couldn’t believe it.
Noah savoured her hysteria before giving Anna a look she hadn’t seen before. “I’m not the man you once knew, Anna. And that is a reminder of what I would do if someone dared to cross their line.” Noah pointed to the man that lay lifeless on the concrete floor.
Anna strode towards Noah. “You would do so much for a nobody? You would choose her, over me?” Anna felt it was incredulous.
“Don’t flatter yourself,” Noah responded in a tone so cold that Anna took a step back. “You are just a piece of trash that climbed the ranks by spreading your legs to any man that you felt you could use for your benefits… It is you that isn’t fit to be called my lover.”
She raised her arm in a fit of rage and impulse but Noah anticipated her move. He caught her arm easily and flung it away. The force of his movement made Anna stagger backwards and fall. When she lost her footing due to her razor-thin heels, her ankle buckled and she shouted out in immense pain.
“Noah!” She screamed out, absolutely devastated that he would harm her.
Anna’s men rushed to her aid but in anger but she snapped at them and refused any help. The men then stepped forward and pointed their guns straight at Noah. “Noah Adler do not think you can come to our territory and threaten our boss!” One of Anna’s guards threatened.
Unfazed by their gun, Noah merely continues to stand straight in silence, an overbearing cold look on his face. “You’d be wise to point that gun elsewhere –,” he paused and smirked at the two foolish guards, “—because if you want to continue to point that gun in my face, you will be dead before you can press the trigger.”
At a snap of Noah’s elegant fingers, an army of his men stormed inside the warehouse. They surrounded Anna’s men in seconds and had their weapons out and aimed instantly.
Anna was startled for a moment but she pulled herself together, Anna brushed a few strands of hair from her face and fixed her dress. What she did next came as a complete surprise to Noah.
“Noah, you know I still love you. I only left you because I wanted to achieve something more and be someone who could stand on equal grounds with you. If we met as you are now think of how powerful we both could be together. If you think of it I did this all for you.” Anna smiled as she gazed at the man she always loved and now admired.
Her voice was soft and pleading as she walked to Noah. He noticed her eyes were damp and her mouth quivered slightly as she spoke. Her slender hands reached out to Noah in an attempt to embrace him.
No more games, Noah thought as he grabbed Anna’s arm and harshly grabbed it, folding it to her back in a painful twist. She shrieked out in pain, he released her arm but grabbed her hair instead, pointing his gun to her temple. He had heard enough and would no longer let her approach him.
Her guards tried to come to her rescue but Noah’s elite guards disarmed everyone by firing multiple shots at their hands, disarming them instantly.
“You never loved anyone but yourself so do not spout nonsense in an attempt to save yourself,” Noah snarled as he released the safety catch on his gun. “You left me because you were greedy for power and now that I have the money and power, you think you can worm your way back into my life?” Noah snickered at her stupidity.
“I –” Anna tried to speak but Noah quickly pushed her away, she stumbled again.
Noah then nodded at Thomas. Thomas then dragged her back onto her feet, slid both hands under her arms from behind and held her in a tight grip.
“You think by killing Ivy, I would ever come to you?” Noah snarled and traced the gun from her temple, down her cheeks before resting it under her neck, making her look up at him. “Let me tell you, even if you had managed to kill Ivy, you don’t stand a chance. I’m not that desperate to go within a hundred feet of you, you are unworthy.”
Anna nervously trembled, she wasn’t sure if she could get out of this situation but she had to try. “Noah please… please don’t do this,” she said as her eyes misted up.
“Don’t do what?” Noah asked as he then fired a single shot into Anna’s thigh. He aimed the gun carefully so he wouldn’t injure Thomas who was holding Anna firmly behind.
Anna screamed from the pain and slumped but Thomas continued to hold her firm, forcing her to stand. The pain was immense and she trembled, she felt like she would faint any second. She was always pampered by her father or her lovers she was never used to such harsh treatment.
“You shot me!” she cried out, in disbelief. The tears and sweat were ruining her perfect make-up, with traces of black mascara and eyeliner staining her eyes and cheek. She looked pitiful but Noah was unmoved.
Noah pointed the gun at her forehead again, the image of Ivy laying in hospital flashed through his mind again fuelling his anger further.
“I’ll do more than that, Anna.” Noah snickered. “Do not think that I won’t kill you just because you and I once shared a bed. You meant nothing to me.”
She was sweating, due to the wound on her thigh. Her eyes darted behind, pleading for her men but since most of them were injured and had been disarmed, they could not do anything but watch. She looked into Noah’s eyes only then did she notice the difference in them. The Noah she knew was gone.
“Noah Adler, what is the meaning of this?” A male voice demanded.
Lazily, Noah turned his attention to the entrance of the warehouse where another small army of men had gathered, he remained unfazed. He recognized the man in a sharp navy suit as one of Anna’s last lover’s second in command. Her last over was David Moore and this was his second in command Paul.
Anna’s last lover was a gangster who sold weapons and drugs so his men were all elite in their field. This information did not bother Noah.
“You think you can walk in here and harm Anna?” Paul shouted. When Noah again offered no response, he continued, “No matter how powerful you are, we have rules she was our leader’s lover. If you kill her, you’ll start a war.”
Anna heaved out a winning laugh. “You can’t kill me even if you wanted to, Noah.”
This was Anna’s true face, she was a woman who didn’t care about anything but herself, a woman who would stop at nothing to have what she wanted; a narcissist, self-absorbed and delusional.
“You want the truth? I confess I poisoned Ivy! I wanted her to die painfully as you stood there unable to do anything to aid her. If I can’t have you, no one can!” she laughed.
“Boss, let me I’ll kill her,” Thomas requested. The muscles of his face tightened as he tried to control his anger.
