Cold Hearted Devil Fell In Love - Chapter 131
“Is the poison lethal?” Daniel enquired, not because he worried for Anna. He just wanted to know if he was still able to torture her himself.
“The amount is less than what she gave Ivy. She won’t die from it yet but she’ll need immediate medical attention. That’s only if you want her to live so you can have your fun.” Noah flashed a small grin.
Just as Noah finished his sentence, Anna began to breathe heavily and tremble uncontrollably. Her face went pale and she began to vomit.
“Take her to our private clinic,” Paul ordered said in disgust before he walked out of the warehouse.
Daniel held himself up and nodded at Noah, “If you ever need any assistance let me know. Also I will let others know not to harm Ivy. Everyone knows she is your only weakness so I will let you know now we have her back also.”
Noah nodded, although he didn’t need any help to protect his lover he agreed that all eyes were indeed needed when it came to Ivy. She always seemed to get herself into situations. He flashed a grin at her feistiness. He suddenly missed her.
…
Back in the mansion Ivy was getting bored. How long had she been cooped up in the mansion? Yes it was lovely and enjoyable but she was used to her freedom. The mansion had a gym, pool, bowling alley and a cinema which she made full use off but now it all seemed tedious.
She counted the days in her head, she supposed it had not been that long. She had already gone for her daily check up with Dr Stewart at the hospital and so far, Dr Stewart was pleased with the results. She had more or less made a full recovery, although Dr Stewart had warned her he was not sure how it would affect her long term or her fertility.
She had never imagined a future with or without children in it but the realisation of maybe not being giving the option to have children made her feel uneasy. Did she want children? Did Noah? Would he leave her if she couldn’t have children? There were too many questions she had no answers for.
She stared outside at the large gardens, Noah had all her favourite flowers planted and the view was spectacular. The only downside was the constant patrol of armed guards that Noah had put in place they were an eyesore and only reminded her of her situation.
She hated the fact that she had to be kept locked up and monitored for her own safety. She didn’t think Anna was that dangerous but she would follow Noahs wishes this one time. Besides, Teo made sure that she had everything she wanted and he kept her company too.
“Teo, any word from Noah?” aske Ivy.
Teo immediately checked his phone. “No, Ivy I’m sorry there are no messages from the Boss or Thomas as of yet.”
“I wonder how much longer I have to wait here.” Ivy mumbled.
Teo sat next to Ivy. “Do you want to do something? We can watch a movie, or go for a walk around the gardens it’s a lovely day outside?”
Ivy hugged a cushion. “No thanks I don’t fancy a movie and I would die of heat stroke in that sun. Besides Noah likes my pale vampire like skin I don’t want to tan or get freckles. “She rested her chin on the cushion. “I think I would like to learn something new to protect myself. I can fight but maybe I should learn how to shoot. Can you teach me Teo?” Ivy asked.
“If you want to you can ask to Noah if I can teach you.”
Ivy eyed Teo “Dork. Fine your scared of Noah I get it, I will ask him when he returns, but you could show me the basics while I’m bored.” Ivy rolled her eyes.
Teo couldn’t shake his head fast enough. “I don’t know if we should unless you have Noahs permission.”
With that said it infuriated Ivy. “Will he know if I used it?” Ivy prompted, just to see if Teo would give in, he was easier to manipulate than Thomas.
Surprisingly, Teo did not waver. He must have gotten all the training from Thomas. “Nothing goes unnoticed by the boss. He’d be extremely displeased if he found out of that I am sure”
Ivy thought she must have looked disappointed enough because Teo actually sighed before he offered an alternative. “If you want, I can arrange for you to try using paintball gun. The model and weight resembled a real gun.”
Ivy sat up in excitement. “Really?”
Teo nodded before taking his phone out to make the necessary arrangements.
A few hours later, Ivy stood in the mansions gardens. As Teo had told her, the paintball gun looked real. In fact, it looked identical to Ivy’s amateur eyes. Teo gave him a few quick lessons on how to aim and fire but practice was far more difficult than theory. She tried a couple of shots but they all missed its target. She was sure the real thing would only be harder to aim.
Ivy missed the first two shots, sending the pink paintball to the trees behind the target board. Refusing to admit defeat, she raised her hand again. An unknown hand suddenly came from behind, holding her waist while the other held her hand steady. Without turning behind, she pulled the trigger and watched the pink paint splatter hit the board – right on target.
“You’re back,” she said as he turned around. She was overjoyed to see Noah again.
Noah was wearing his usual black suit, he looked as though as he had just come back from a dinner party. His onyx eyes stared at her in amusement and he gave a bright smile that was only for Ivy, “You knew it was me?”
“I recognized your cologne,” she admitted. And the feel of your hands, which she omitted.
“What if it’s another man wearing the same cologne?” asked Noah.
Damn it. Ivy knew Noah would push harder, she looked away to embarrassed to elaborate.
“I know your touch dork,” she finally gave in and whispered.
Noah was pleased with her answer and he kissed her temple. “Teo reported that you wanted to learn how to shoot?”
“Yes I want to level up my badassness” She then looked at the board. The pink paint is shot right on target. “It’s harder than I thought.”
“This isn’t a shooting range. If you want, Thomas can take you to a proper place so you can learn,” Noah agreed as he smoothly guided Ivy back to the mansion. The two walked side by side holding hands. They were the perfect couple.
The surrounding guards pretended not to notice but they were in awe of the sight in front of them.
