Cold Hearted Devil Fell In Love - Chapter 144
The next day Ivy woke wrapped up in the blankets while rolling about on their master bed, she was sated from last night and had a smile on her face. Ivy stretched and got out of bed walking to the bathroom and got ready for the day. Seeing as her father was here she decided to follow him to work for the day.
Ivy picked out a burgundy blouse and a black pencil skirt she tied her wavy long hair up and paired her outfit with some black pumps. Adding some natural makeup and eyeliner along with her signature red lip she walked out of the bedroom.
In the living room Teo, Thomas and her father were all seated having coffee. Ivy smiled at them and nodded, she wasn’t a morning person, “You are all up early.” She remarked.
Noah and Aiden would have already left for work long ago that man was like a machine when it came to his personal and professional life. Ivy wished she had his energy. Ivy poured a cup of coffee for herself into a to-go cup.
Ivy took a sip of coffee first, “Okay let’s go to work.”
Thomas chuckled, “So you know then?”
“Yes, of course, I do. Noah is possessive enough to not let me solve anything myself so I know he resolved everything last night.” Ivy agreed.
“The Asylum for Lauren was my idea.” Thomas boasted.
All the heads in the living room snapped in Thomas’s direction.
Ivy questioned first, “Asylum?”
“Oh sh*t I have f*cked up this time. This will be an even harsher punishment than the time I brought up having to bulk order you guys your condoms.” Thomas held his head in dismay he worried about what Noah would have him do now. For embarrassing Ivy, Noah had him hand wash all of Noah’s cars and it took him his whole day off the last time.
“It’s fine I don’t care,” Ivy replied.
“Really? So you won’t bring it up with the boss?” Thomas let go of his head and asked.
“Nope. Now let’s go to work.” Ivy replied. She honestly didn’t care, Noah would be ruthless to anyone that came close to hurt her and she was well aware of that fact. Lauren and Cole had multiple chances and they ignore each one that she had given them.
Victor got up and walked with his daughter, “I would like to discuss something with you this morning at the office if you have time?”
Ivy sipped her coffee, “No problem, I always have time for you.”
Victor had noticed her happy demeanour and nodded. He wasn’t stupid and the walls were not as thick as his daughter thought, he had presumed that Ivy was upset and crying so he had come out of his room to comfort her but he soon realised that she wasn’t crying and walked swiftly back to his own room.
Back in the guest room he packed up his belongings and put his earphones in his ears listening to music to drown out the noises. The next day he had asked Teo to take him somewhere else to stay. That was when he learnt that Noah had got his family home back, he was delighted to return home that day. He couldn’t keep bothering his child and getting in the way. Last night was enough for him.
At the office, Victor had completed the formalities of transferring his company over to Ivy. He had kept some shares in his name but she was in charge now. Ivy had protested at first but soon gave up when he had reasoned with her.
They compromised that he would still attend meetings and work one day a week in the office and he only agreed to make her happy. He knew that she had thought he would get bored or lonely but he was happy to be able to give her the company and no longer shared the drive to push the company forward like she did.
The day flew in quickly as Ivy had to plan the proposal for the company moving forward under her guidance and a meeting with all the shareholders and directors. The meeting went well and only a few grumbled about her taking over the company and surprisingly no one cared that Cole had resigned.
Ivy was tired and had a headache, she had those more frequently now since she was poisoned. So once Thomas had driven her home she got changed into a grey crop top and shorts before falling asleep on the sofa.
Two hours later Ivy was woken by the front door creaking open, she checked the time on her phone and saw it was eight in the evening. Noah was home and she stretched getting up to greet him, but her head got dizzy so she continued sitting. She didn’t want to alert Noah so she pretended to be still waking as he entered the living room.
“Welcome home,” Ivy announced.
“Tired? I thought we could go out to celebrate my new CEO lover.” Noah answered and walked to the sofa he sat down beside her.
Just as Noah was about to grab his lover Ivy moved and sat on his lap facing him. Noah smirked, “To what do I owe the pleasure of you willingly sitting on my lap?”
Ivy rolled her eyes, “You know what you did. So thank you… Wait how did you know? Oh, Thomas blabbed, he’s done that a lot today.”
“Really what else did he say?” Noah asked.
“Doesn’t matter,” Ivy responded she dint want to get Thomas into trouble even though Thomas couldn’t let her tell Noah her news herself.
“So you want to go out and celebrate?” Noah smiled at Ivy.
“Sure just for a bit though,” Ivy replied, she was dizzy and her head was sore so she knew if she said no it would only alert the possessive man.
“Mmm… something wrong?” Noah asked as he looked at her checking for anything out of the ordinary.
“No no I’m all good.” Ivy quickly replied and tried to get up but Noah held her hips in place.
“You’re a terrible liar,” Noah answered.
