Collection Of Horror Tales - Chapter 21 The Forbidden Mountain Pt. 6 End
On one side the living human bears that were the totem statues around the tribe. I could see only two of them, but each one with claws and fangs in a disproportion to their human faces that showed a frozen grimace of random emotions. On the other side was for one a really tall human in long white robes with a friendly smile, glowing blue eyes and long blonde hair, who was fighting in a stalemate with one of the statues. The perfect description for him would probably be blond, blue eyed Jesus. When I could turn my attention away from the fake Jesus to the other battle I was on the verge of vomiting. My fallen comrades were there, I couldn’t believe it. They fought as if they were still alive, while their eyes looked dead. Even when the claws ripped them apart they still continued to fight. This made the second statue look like a deathly butcher within a bloody mist and my lost team like a horde of doomed souls that turned into living dead. Although it seemed as if the wooden daemon had the upper hand, it was actually a stalemate. The statue just couldn’t kill there dammed souls.
Scared to accidently get involved, I wanted to move further away as soon as possible, but as I turned around, another one of those fake Jesuss appeared from the dark shadows. In hope he hadn’t seen me I tried to sneak away slowly. It was to no avail. He started to speak to me, which made me freeze in place for some seconds.
“Human, don’t be scared. I can help you. You just have to receive my teachings.” He came towards me with opened arms, as if trying to hug me. Still perturbed by the fighting scene behind my back, I didn’t really feel any need for some kind of teachings at the moment and only wanted to leave this mountain behind. So I stuttered an answer along the lines of “I hm don’t really think that I want to receive some teachings at the moment good sir.” I hadn’t even finished my sentence when the Jesus before me transformed from a holy spirit to a daemon form hell. His robe changed its colour from white to black, as well as his hair. His eyes turned red and sharp canine teeth formed. His friendly smile became an evil grin as he said:” But you don’t have a choice, human.” He threw himself at me like a predator at its pray. With no intention of idly sitting there and waiting, I tried to dived sideways, but soon realized, that I wouldn’t make it in time. I started to regret this mission heavily at this moment and felt helpless against this devil in front. Only when his claw-like hands were centimetres away from my throat and I saw my whole life in front of my eyes, did a shadow crash into him at full speed. While landing I could still see that it was one of the wooden statues. One with a laughing face, like I told him the best joke he heard in his life. Only for a split second before landing did I look into its eyes and what I saw made chills run down my spine. His eyes looked at me like I was his scared pet that he had to save. Without another glance I rolled over and sprinted downwards through the woods. The fighting noises started to fade, till I couldn’t hear them anymore, but the lingering fear of this nightmarish night made me run further and further.
Soon I reached the road out of this god forsaken place and had a sigh of relive. I started to cry. Came down to my knees, closed my eyes and thanked god for my survival. When I opened them, I cried out in surprise and fear. Deep within I thought:” It isn’t over jet? What kind of joke is this?” In front of me was the head of a horse with teeth, long and sharp, just like from a predator and a human like grin on its face. I felt like I would become a heart attack every moment now. This was when I realized there was a horseman on its back that talked to me. His appearance resembles the old woman of the Modoc tribe to a scary extent, but with a way more deathly and intimidating aura. “Excuse me Sir”, he was speaking fluent Spanish, “could u point me the direction to Mount Shasta? Old Angeni has called for my help.”
After I gave him the directions, like I was in some kind of hypnosis, my way back into the city was without further obstacles.
With that said, I have finished my report. I hope Pater can forgive my absence of personal presence, but as soon as I arrived in the city, I took a carriage towards the East coast. I intend to travel back to Europe as fast as possible, but still wrote this letter in respect of my work for you.
With best regards your Daniel Willington.
