Collection Of Horror Tales - Chapter 34 Escaping The City End Of Vol. 3
Outside, I need to get out of this hell.
Turning around and not waiting for another moment, I rushed down the stairs as if I left a blue monster behind me.
Now to the left, out of this city. That’s the way. The day just started so not much traffic was around. Although she was left in my room, I still ran as if she was right at my neck.
This turn right then I’m on the main street. Just before I reached it, I felt a stare at my back. Still a little sensitive to everything connected to eyes, I tried to turn around while continuing my hasted escape. Maybe it would have worked if I didn’t see anything, but that wasn’t the case. I saw, what I didn’t want to see the most and what I didn’t expect the most at this moment. Her, no not her real body, God it wasn’t even her full body. There were only eyes, eyes out of a blue light seemingly made out of some form of higher, purer electricity. I didn’t even why I knew those were hers, but I just knew. There were thin threads of blue light connecting the eyes to a nearby street lamp. The image disturbed me so much, that I fell.
“Don’t struggle, in the end you will be under my influence anyway.” The also disturbing multilayered voice was speaking again.
Although it said so, I did struggle. Jumping up again I turned around and fled.
Reaching the main street, I got into a taxi so fast, even I myself would consider me rude, but it was irrelevant. The only thing that mattered was to get out of the city as fast as I could.
The taxi started driving and a sense of relive flooded through my body. Finally, everything is going to be fine. Suddenly there came a blue thread out of the cars radio. While the driver didn’t seem to notice anything strange I saw how blue pupils and then eyes started to build them self. The fright came with them, but in the end the car and the presence of a second person, even if that person didn’t see what I saw at this moment, calmed me down.
You can’t harm me here this is a Faraday cage, I said without confidence.
The eyes just looked at me and said: “When we first meet, you said I would be the angel, who welcomes you into heaven, little did you know I would become your very own demon.”
No-, no-, no, I stammered. This wasn’t happening, this wasn’t real, she is not real!
The driver struck by an irritation about his past choice of customer, turns around and kindly asks:” Sir are you o-”
His last syllable was stolen from his mouth, when a car rammed us from the side.
Afterwards the aggressor drove away, as if nothing happened, and only a broken multilayered mechanical female voice was heard reporting. “Error, who destroyed the body 301 cleared. No further Damage expected. Mission accomplished.”
Simultaneously the body of the two dead car occupants, were slowly fading away, as if everything was a smoke illusion. Deep within earth an otherworldly solider stood up in anger” Damn those stupid blue fireflies are just fucking everywhere man. Well.. Let’s just report back to the council of light, that our connection to the great spirit was broken in 2 cases in form of destruction by the Artificials, while they tried to escape the pursuit of a new blue angel.”
