Collection Of Horror Tales - Chapter 36 Childhood Memories Pt.2
After a long time of awkward silence, which lasted nearly forever a voice was heard in the small allay. “Hey Ben, how is it going?”
The usual deeper voice rose some octaves, like it was usually the case for boys in puberty, when they were under stress. The guilt in this one sentence nearly physically manifested. He knew exactly what Ben felt for Anna. Anna on the other hand didn’t try to speak up. She slowly walked towards Ben, with the thought of consoling him. Even though, there was less guilt in her demeanor there was a huge amount of pity in her eyes. Ben just stood there on the opposing side of the street. He just stood still and stared at them. His outside appearance was calm like a still water, no ripples were shown. His mind was in complete contrast to the outside a complete chaos. For a long time, no single emotion seemed to take the upper hand in this inner brawl of feelings he fought. Slowly but steady the winner was silently announced. Hate, anger and disgust took over his brain like a nasty parasite. The moment he realized the self-destructive nature of his emotions it was already too late. Anna was standing right in front of him by the time and spoke softly to him.
Ben felt his anger and hate literally seeping out of his body. He could do nothing against it. Visible black smoke came forth from his eyes, ears, nose and mouth. The screeching of a thousand dead souls was heard, while Ben tried everything in his power to calm himself down. As if the black smoke felt his intentions, it just became stronger and stronger every second. It lasted until it was so strong, that he lost all of his senses. While Ben wasn’t in control of his self anymore, the black smoke got thicker and thicker, nearly enveloping the whole allay. Anna who was standing right in front of him just stopped talking once she noticed the black smoke. Her first intention was to run, until she realized she couldn’t. No obvious obstacle hindered her from leaving, but she just couldn’t move her head away from the scene before her. The black smoke embraced the still childlike silhouette before her eyes. Her senses were being played with, as she started to see a tall figure emerging from within the body. A face so ugly, that no matter what words would be used to describe it, it would not be possible to form a picture of its full appearance. A hairy half human, half animal body with some bony wings and two long eye-catching horns growing out of its head. Her eyes became bigger and so was her fear. For a sheltered kid like her it was unnamable what she felt. It was like a mix of acceptance, disgust and a feeling like she would wake up from this nightmare soon. The devil just stretched out his bony arms, put her head between his overly large fingers and squashed it like an old fruit. Blood and brain matter dyed the ally.
After the dead headless body of the girl slowly slid down, the devil proceeded on to the scared boy at the other end of the street. Just like the girl he was somehow hypnotically unable to move and could just watch as the devil killed him in the same fashion. The only difference between his death and that of the girl were their emotions. He was scared out of his wits by what he saw. The last thing he felt before he died was something wet between his legs and a following lunatic laughter from the daemon in front.
