Complex Romance - 38 Talking about the future
After lunch, they went shopping. Jane was like the treasurer of the group as she supervised everyone so no one would waste money on items that they didn’t need. Bob and William were the ones that got scolded by Jane the most as they kept taking items that were useless for them.
…
On that night, they cooked dinner themself. The girls were in charge of cooking the noodles and vegetables, while the boys were in charge of grilling the meat. They had fun just hanging out together.
After enjoying their meal, they sat at the living room as they started talking about the future.
“So Teresa, when are you going to leave for further studies?”
“No sure, maybe a few months after our results are out cause I need time to apply and get a study permit to go there.”
“Ohh…”
“What about you Jane?”
“I was thinking about going to a university in City A. The program that I want to study is very famous in that university.”
“Wow, all of you have your targets set already… What am I doing…” Said Zoey.
“I thought that you wanted to go to baking school. That was what you told me the last time right?” Teresa said.
“Ya, I remember you telling me that too.” Said William.
“I wanted to initially, but my parents are discouraging me. They told me baking is just a skill that I can learn on my own. They want me to study something else.”
“Oh… Well, we will support whatever decision you make.”
“Yup, we will support you but you need to think this carefully cause it is your future.” Said Jane.
“Okay, okay, I know. What about you William? What are you planning to do once your results are out?”
“I plan on going to study in a college in City C, but not sure whether my parents will support me or not…”
“Well, my parents will surely not support me in college, so I think I would have to find a job and earn money myself for college.” Said Bob
“Wow, our Bob is all grown up, he is so mature and even planned his future.” Harry teased.
“Shut up.” Bob replied as he rolled his eyes.
“Then what about you Harry, I haven’t even heard about your plans.”
“Me? Oh, I’m thinking of being a game programmer. But I haven’t decided on the university cause money is an issue for my family…”
“So I guess, all of us will be going on different parts after this…” Said William in a depressed tone.
“That’s life.” Replied Jane.
…
After their conversation, Zoey suggested going to the playground in front of their accommodation.
The girls ran to the swing, but the boys were being mischievous and sat on the swing first.
“Hey, get up. I want to sit on it.” Zoey complained as William was sitting at her place.
Teresa on the other hand did not scold as she looked at Harry in the eye, using her eyes to tell Harry to get up.
“Okay, okay, I know you want to sit here. I will get up.” Said Harry as he offered his seat to Teresa.
The two of them were exactly like a couple.
Jane was so happy to see Teresa feeling so comfortable around Harry, she hoped that the two of them could get together as they liked each other.
Jane wanted to give them a little push as she planned to leave them alone together so that they had space to talk.
“Hey, let’s go to the other side of the playground.” Jane whispered to Zoey and William.
“Why?” William asked cluelessly.
Jane then pointed at Teresa and Harry, indicating that she wanted them to leave those two alone.
“Ohh, that’s why.” Replied William as he nodded his head in agreement.
Jane and William quietly walked to the other end of the playground while Zoey pulled Bob with her as she followed them.
A few minutes later, Harry noticed that it was very quiet. Hence, he turned his head to see what the others were doing. Then only did he find out that they were already on the other side of the playground already.
Teresa on the other hand, did not even notice what had happened as she was so focused on watching up in the sky which was full of stars. She was in a daze.
