Complex Romance - 42 We will meet again
After the trip, everyone went back home. They enjoyed their holiday as they waited for the results of their finals. Once in a while, they would meet up with each other just to hang out. And their group chat was always active where everyone would chat with each other every single day.
…
Soon the announcement day came where the school was going to release their final results. Teresa and Jane planned to meet up early at school. When the both of them were at school, they decided to walk around the campus. Looking into the empty classes reminded them of the memories of their schooling days. It was so nostalgic.
Later on, Zoey and most of their classmates had already arrived. Everyone was so excited and nervous. And surprisingly, a lot of students had already dyed their hair. It was the school rules where students were not allowed to dye their hair. However once they had already graduated, they were free to do what they wanted to.
Teresa was happily talking with her classmate while waiting for their teachers to arrive and announce their results. Jane on the other hand went to find her classmates as she hasn’t seen them for quite a long time already.
Just as Teresa was looking for Jane, Teresa saw John. The both of them felt very awkward to see each other. However, Teresa really did like what she said before, she just ignored him and treated him like a stranger as she walked past him without even greeting him.
Seeing how Teresa had treated him, he thought to himself, “She has changed… Maybe it was me who forced her to treat me this way… I really missed my chance and messed things up… Maybe it’s time to really let it go…”
Teresa, Jane, Zoey, William, Bob and Harry sat together in the hall as they were listening to the principal’s speech. After receiving their results, they were quite satisfied with it. William thanked Teresa as she had really saved his Maths.
During that week, Teresa had been busy doing her applications for her university. And just about two weeks later, she had received her acceptance letter for her ideal university. She was overjoyed and excited as her new journey was going to begin.
…
In a month’s time, it already reached the day of Teresa’s departure. Just when she was waiting at the airport with her family, someone called her from the back.
Teresa was so shocked to see all her good friends, Jane, Zoey, Harry, William and Bob. All of them came to see her off.
Jane was the first one to approach her and gently hugged her saying, “Take good care of yourself, remember to tell me if you have any problems. I will always be here for you.”
“Don’t you dare leave without hugging me!” Zoey hugged Teresa as she complained.
“All the best Teresa. Good luck copping there.” Said William.
“Don’t forget to come back and visit us.” Bob added on.
Harry on the other hand just stood there and watched her as she was hugging Jane and Zoey. He said in a very soft and gentle voice, “Take care okay?”
Teresa nodded her head, she was about to cry but she held back her tears. After saying her goodbyes with her friends, she went back to her family’s side.
Her brothers still kept on teasing her to make her happy and to cheer up the mood, while her mother hugged her tightly as she did not want her daughter to leave her. Her father on the other hand looked fine but was actually worried inside.
Just as she was boarding the plane, she received a message saying, “Don’t forget, I will always be by your side. I will wait for you. We will meet again.” The message was from Harry.
At that moment, her tears started to drop. She was sad to be separated from her family and friends but at the same time she was very grateful to have such a loving and caring family, and wonderful friends.
…
Five years had passed, Teresa had already graduated. She was an early childhood education lecturer who was currenting teaching in a university in the UK. She completed her major in early childhood studies and a minor in music. Hence, she was also a music teacher where she teaches children how to play the piano as her part time job.
She enjoyed her life there as she made use of her time wisely with the things that she liked to do.
One day, when she was in a coffee shop enjoying her Latte as she was reading a book, someone came and sat in front of her.
“Long time no see.”
That familiar and gentle voice. As she raised her head to see, she had no words to say. The man in front of her, was the one she had never forgotten, he was the one that was always on her mind, he was Harry.
Although Harry came from a poor background, he still continued to work very hard in college and earned multiple scholarships. His goal was to reach the girl that he was waiting for. Finally, he had the potential to be by her side. He had become an amazing programmer for a big company in the UK.
“Miss, would you mind spending your day with me?”
