Corrupted Innocence - 14 A New Home
Violet followed the man towards the manor which was under contraction looking around at the countless workers whom cut down trees or helped construct the building ahead. A crowd of supply wagons were placed out front along with lines of workers passing the items from the wagons like pass the parcel towards the build sight were they were installed according to the blueprint. The foreman was located at a desk talking to a few people and going over the blueprints. The people were most likely architects but her attention was quickly turned back to the man when a woman suddenly rushed over and hugged him. She was brown haired and fair skinned with a short build. She wore an expensive yellow dress and was accompanied by two stoic maids both of which were beast girls of the fox variety. After a second of embracing the man, the woman looked at Violet perplexed then back at the man “Who’s that?” He smiled gently and replied “An angel. Last of her kind.” The woman then noticed the two wings on Violet’s back then seemed to understand and then asked “Did you introduce yourself?”
“Yes?” He replied and then she asked “Did you tell her your name?” Almost as if a switch flipped in his brain, he turned around quickly and then said “I’m so sorry! My name is Duncan Everbloom and this here is my wife Adriana Everbloom.” Violet bowed in response and said “My name is Violet Evergreen. It’s nice to meet you.” She leaned back up and then the woman pounced on her bringing her into a suffocating hug “Oh my god! You’re so adorable I could make you pop!” Duncan looked over with a wry smile and said “Adriana. I think you’re making her uncomfortable.” Adriana then jumped back and apologised saying she didn’t realise it could make her feel uncomfortable. “I don’t mind miss but if you could please refrain from doing so constantly.”
“Ah! Duncan! Is she to be our adopted child?” Adriana asked him excitedly and Duncan looked to her for approval to which she nodded and then Adriana clapped in delight before suffocating her with a hug once more for a few minutes before she let her go and declared “Let’s get you dressed shall we? We can’ have you in those rags!” She began to drag Violet away and when she looked back to Duncan for help, he was looking away.
‘Help me you bastard!’
