Corrupted Innocence - 4 Chorus of Civilisation
The walls that surrounded the city towered above the surroundings, a feeling of impassable superiority exuding from them. They had finally reached the city and were first greeted by its towering walls and surrounding lush green fields all removed of trees to make the walls gaze hard to escape. A long line of people, cars and other such things were lined up along the road to the entrance and it seems some have been there long enough for people to start setting up camp in their places or on the side of the road. They had parked at the back but it wasn’t long until the car was surrounded by waiting travellers on both sides all waiting to cross the walls and unfortunately moving at a snails pace to get there due to the time it took for security to allow people into the city.
Violet sighed and opened the door and hopped down onto the dirt road and walked up the road towards the city amongst its side and began to ask some questions to a camp of elves that were nearby, in which she discovered that the reason it was taking so long was that they purposely denied people then asked for bribes, which was shameless but effective as people wanted in to the city and obliged often not thinking twice. However, the fact they denied them meant they had to make it seem they actually checked and so ask questions for up to half an hour before they begin the scam. When she asked how they knew this they explained that they were long time residents of the city returning from a family trip to the forest elf kingdom down south.
She went back to the car and explained the situation much to the disappointment of the entire group they had to enter the city to buy supplies and weapons and the next city would be even longer away ad the car was badly damaged from the hospital incident. So they began to wait and slowly advanced along the line and after a day decided it would be best to continue waiting despite the complains of Lilith and Lu whom were both desperate to get into the city. Also the fact that Lu had tried to team with a child in the attempt to break into the city bemused them all and became common point of teasing towards Lu for the next few hours.
In the end, Violet went to reading a book about the human empire they were currently in and discovered it was actually relatively new with the country being established within her eldest brother’s lifetime and it was formed after they rebelled against a now separated empire that consisted of multiple states and went for the vision of communism throughout the empire, however their downfall was the eventual corruption in their government and military leading to the declaration of war for independence by many of their states leading to the eventual collapse of the Russian Empire. The remnants had renamed themselves to the Russian Federation in light of their alliances with their former controlled states when they declared war on the angels. She read details of the war between them and the angels and didn’t find a lot of it surprising as it said that six out of eight and still going years of the war the angels completely dominated the war, however upon the summoning of an arch demon the impact caused the killing of millions of angels and the Primordial Angel bing put in a coma. Soon after the tide of war was reversed due to the sheer loss of lives on the angel’s side leading to the summoning of two other arch demons and then after they were enslaved they used them to push the angels to near extinction. Soon after the unconscious body of the Primordial angel went missing sparking a fire in the angels as they increased their fighting leading to now most angels with the exception of children being put forth to combat resulting in the recapturing of their entire territory and the eventual stalemate between the two sides and contrary to Violet’s beliefs her species have actual been in incline since they had regained the lost territory and slowly but surely they were actually tipping the scales in their favour.
“How bothersome. Well they are likely to summon more arch demons that is probably why Lu begged me. Oh and it turns out powerful breeds of angels are now even more rare with the common breeds actually increasing meaning that the normal breeds deserve a pat on the back for preserving them selves to protect the higher breeds.” She unintentionally began clapping causing the other s to look at her in which she just ignored them in embarrassment after realising what she was doing.
“You’ve gone beet red.”
“Shut up.”
Soon the hours turned the sun into the moon and Violet had finished her book about the country and decided to read up on the countries in the mortal world and found out that there was hundreds however only twenty of them mattered including the Russian Federation whom was at the top of the food chain because of their three arch demons. She read through the book and discovered a lot about the mortal realm and decided to read more books based on each countries culture and history.
“How many books do you have?” Lu asked incredulously upon noticing the number of books she had read through on their travels let alone that day.
“Enough.”
“Great so you answer me with sarcasm then?”
“Yes now be quiet and bug someone else.”
She returned to reading and Lu was annoyed at her comment trying to find a way to retort when he noticed the others were asleep and that it was also his duty to move the car when necessary upon noticing Adam face down onto the wheel. He woke up Adam whom in a muddled state swapped seats with him and fell back to sleep and after a few hours he began to feel sleepy himself.
“I’ll take over.”
“Oh sure.”
Violet swapped seats with Lu this time she was moving the car forward every so often and continued so until morning where she was caught reading a book whilst moving the car forward when necessary. Adam looked around him in a 180 degree angel before asking “What’s for breakfast?”
“Ask Lu, Lucifer or Mia; I’m driving.”
“Awww! But you’re so good at cooking!” Mia began to whine upon hearing this and Violet looked back at her.
“Make it yourself.”
She turned her attention back to reading and driving much to the dismay of the pleading Mia who was interrupted by Lucifer when he suggested that he’d cook. They agreed and were met with food that was essentially rock hard coal and looked on with envy as she thoroughly enjoyed a breakfast she researched in her books from a country called ‘England’ even called an ‘English Breakfast’. She was very amused at the naming of such breakfast for very obvious and simple reasons but immensely enjoyed it and when finished resumed reading and driving much to the crushed dreams of hungry souls.
It was a while of slow progression until they finally reached the gates and were greeted by the guards whom displayed the mannerisms and actions that the camp had described. Then they asked for a fee and when Violet ‘peacefully’ offered them another solution out of their ‘good-free-will’ they let them through without any trouble and instead of being greeted by what they thought would be worth this much security was rather more a pit for a poverty than a burgeoning city ripe with industry.
They continued through the clustered streets and the car had finally gave out as a loud bang came from the engine followed by steam prompting them to leave the car. They continued on leaving it as it were and decided to take their possessions and abandon it considering they were going to find a replacement for the thing anyway. Arriving in the richer area of the city they noticed a dramatic difference in the atmosphere and quality of the area with no signs of beggars or poverty accept the few slaves or servants that were working for those who resided in this area of town. Violet was quite bemused at the sudden change and remarked it as something similar to Ying and Yang the difference was cruel yet needy in her opinion as in a way it was symbiotic. Lu disagreed and went into depth upon his disagreement but his complaints fell on death ears as they continued to search for an inn or something similar to stop in and collect themselves.
Upon finding an inn, they noticed that it was very reminiscent of a bar when they walked inside and Violet quickly noticed the stares at her wings from those inside which all she had to do to stop was release an ‘inkling’ of magical aura. When the richer of those inside saw her they were soon fawning over her and attempting to greet her only to be met with silence or cold glares and all Lu could do was stare on with sympathy but he didn’t mind as their mission was to make noble lives hell in the first place and this was a good start even if not the way they intended.
They sat themselves around a table in the corner of the tavern where they ordered food and Violet left with the person whom came to the table to the kitchen after offering to help cook. When she entered the kitchen she was rather surprised with how cosy it was for a kitchen and it constantly exuded a homeliness despite it mostly being that of wood. She decided that she would clean this kitchen to help this inn keeper ad possibly even make this a source of income so that they can work towards their goal much swifter.
And so she began cleaning the kitchen and let no stone unturned as she swept, wiped and a matter of other things through the kitchen practically turning the kitchen into a more homely and organise state when she was done. Afterwards, she helped make some of the customers foods and after seeing the delight of her customers the innkeeper decided to ask Violet if she would consider working there and to her delight was met with a yes. Violet said they would be staying at the inn anyhow and she needed a source of income so she didn’t mind and continued to work around the kitchen until the menu was closed and people began returning home and the residents went upstairs to slumber.
“Neve though you could be this good a servant.”
“Who made your meals?”
“Ah-”
“Be quiet then.”
She continued to clean the taverns bar and ignoring Lu’s pleas for forgiveness until she finished and the group gathered and began to think about their plans with the rooms they were staying in. They asked the innkeeper if there were any available rooms and found out there was two rooms and they decided they’s split it between the boys and girls which delighted Mia as strategies poured through her head for ‘girl’s nights’. Only to be met with a sleeping Lilith and a cold shoulder from Violet as she continued to read as usual. Mia sat herself of her bed and looked over at Violet only to notice her looking back and she jumped nearly falling off of her bed.
“I got a job in the inn.”
“Ok.”
“I should earn around £5.20 an hour which is decent considering most human pays but she said something about me being worth more so I stopped listening and just nodded along.”
“That’s rude you know.”
“I knew what she probably said.”
“Okay then.”
Violet got up from the chair and placed the book onto the case before getting dressed into her night wear and climbing into bed. But she felt very uncomfortable with Mia’s constant boggling of her wings and she remembered how annoying it was and missed the days of a bullet wounded Mia who she never had to encounter because everyone was wary due to Violet herself being the one to inflict that wound.
“Your wings are cute.”
“I suppose?”
“Can you fly?”
“Yes? What do you think my wings are for?”
“I don’t know *Yawn* I’m not an angel.”
“It requires common sense not being it yourself.”
“Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”
Violet stood up from her chair and placed her book onto the desk. She walked over to her bag and got dressed into her nightwear which was a white night dress as she always had worn and went around the room blowing out the candles and turning off the gas lamps that hung upon the walls. Violet fell down on to her bed and looked up at the ceiling and began to imagine what her family are doing if they are even alive out there, she hoped that they are fighting back their enemies with an un-breaking resolve and that they aren’t terribly upset without her and are living happily on top of it. Admits her thinking and hopeful wishes sleep overtook her and she descended into dream.

Mia was awoken along Lilith from the bright green glow that covered Violet’s body and she began to panic and rushed into the boy’s room waking them up from the colliding of the door with the wall. “What is it?”
“Something’s happening to Violet!”
They all rushed out of the room and were met with the bright green glow that stabbed its way around the room from Violet. They watched as her body began to change and became more feminine in shape and her wings grew larger until the green glow violently pulled into Violet and they ran over to her noticing she had changed.
Her wings were now twice as long and had more colours mixed in with the others in morphing patterns glowing as they came and went. Her skin had become slightly less albino with glowing runes present across her body all a colour of blank white. Other such changes occurred and it seems like she had only slightly changed in some areas but in areas such as her wings she had drastically.

Nexus Swords: ‘8 blades controlled by the Primordial angel that levitate and attack and move to the Primordial’s will an extension of themselves.’
Future Sight: ‘When one looks into your eyes you can see their past and future but it can also be seen by the one looking into your eyes as they watch it happen in your eyes.’
______________
Violet opened her eyes and immediately noticed one change:
“My breasts are bigger!”
She then admitted to herself that wan’t as important as she has upgraded once again and jumped to her feet and looked in the mirror and noticed all the changes the others did the night before except that her eyes were no longer green but acted as a mirror into the past which confused her as she watched her past occur in her eyes and checked her status discovering it was one of two new unique magics. She then tried the Nexus Swords and eight swords all made of condensed black matter hoovered in the air around her and she messed around with them such as clashing them together and other such things before she ‘sheathed’ them into a void like portal which disappeared shortly afterwards.
Admits her excitement she awoke Mia who looked onwards to a rare sight of Violet being excited like a child and pretended to go to sleep and that’s when Lu walked in.
“You’re awake!”
“It was an upgrade!”
“Awfully excited aren’t you?”
“Possibly.”
They both walked out of the room and Mia got up and dressed into her usual clothes and walked out of the room to be greeted by the group asking if Violet was ok and others such things. She was no longer acting excited it seemed as she was reacting coldly again to everyones comments and worries. Soon after they all went downstairs and was greeted by the innkeeper and had breakfast whilst discussing their plans of action in the city.
“As for income I am working here.”
“Oh really?”
“Get that perverted look off of your face before I remove it myself.”
Violet took their plates and headed back into the back where the innkeeper began to explain what she was to do for work there. Violet was to maintain the kitchen and do the cooking whilst the inn keepers took orders and at noon Violet would also man the bar and take orders for food and drink from the bar. After the briefing Violet got changed into her uniform and wasn’t very delighted at the fact it was essentially a maid dress but got to work nonetheless cooking food for customers after the innkeeper bought in the orders and cleaning the kitchen in-between until it reached noon and the innkeeper skipped into the room and told her it was time for Violet to get behind the bar.
She exited the kitchen and waited behind the bar and she had some customer very quickly whom all ordered drink but to her disgust kept boggling her as she got them their drinks. Soon there was the adventurers that came in and they seemed only a tad better than the city idiots thats came in before and seemed to all have an addiction to drinking rum which hsuprssed her as she really disliked the drink.
“So you new here?”
“Yes.”
The person whom started to talk to her stopped talking as if he were to say something but Violet had completely thrown it to left field muddling what he could say. She just handed him his ordered rum and returned to waiting for another, in which didn’t take long as more adventurers were pouring in.
“Dude it’s an angel!”
“Yes I have wings now what would you like?”
“Rum and casserole.”
She gave the the rum and went into the kitchen to cook the casserole and sighed upon entering the kitchen as she had finally escaped the idiots she had to deal with until that point and began cooking the food and soon returned and handed it to the group whom ordered it and returned to the bar and kept pouring alcohol and cooking and serving food to customers as they came and went.
Soon the day drew to a close and Violet received her pay and met up with the others when they came in from their errands around town such as information gathering and other such things. She had got dressed into her usual attire a the point of their arrival much to the disappointment of Lu which showed on his face earning him death glares from Mina, Violet and Lilith. They gathered at the table in the corner once again and exchanged what they had learned from their day.
In the conversation they discovered that Adam had managed to catch onto a lead leading to the lord of the city and that Mia was looking into the head of industry in the area. Lu had begun weakening their military presence with assassinations of officers and officials. Lilith and Lucifer had spent the day exploring the town and Lilith had created shadow demons to follow people of interest and Lucifer acted as her guard and it was decided he would continue to.
“Alright everyone now that we have decided what to do, lets get to work!”
