Corrupted Innocence - 9 Corrupted Innocence
Violet had struggled with her comrades to the human capital in the hopes of finding out more to find out about the entity that the mad god had called the ‘dark sister’. They only had one chance to stop the game of the mad god and even if it didn’t stop the game it would serve as a good lead to follow and find the weakness of said god. Lu had been worrying about Violet constantly on the way and she understood why, after all the mad god had wiped the floor with her a few days earlier and even sparked a period of unconsciousness on Violet’s end.
It took them a week to reach the capital, in which they were fortunately quickly beckoned to to meet the relatively new queen of humans. The queen of humans resided in what was the main headquarters of the federation but had seemed to have been changed in design or rather it had been damaged from signs of battle. The ancient white marble lining the walls seemed weary with age as the began to succumb to their noble age, they approached the entrance which had an evidently different flag to that of the federations but they also noticed a high presence of soldiers despite the war already ending between the humans and angels.
When she met the queen, she was extremely surprised at the sight of her. What seemed to be a frightened but diligent little girl with rose red hair and adorned in fancy garments sat upon the throne looking at Violet as if she were the new hope of dawn. “I heard from a mad god that you could ‘fill us in’.”
The queen became increasingly more nervous and fidgety as she meekly began to respond “I am Marie, and I welcome you to the nation of man. ‘Crimson’ the one one you call the mad god had forced the role of ruler upon me after- actually no never mind. She had told me to tell you that the dark sister will reveal herself in due time. The only lead I have is the emergence of the shadow creatures sparking a titanic war between them and the orcs.”
“Show us.” Violet implored and the girl agreed showing her the last footage of the war before the disappearance of the shadow creatures including the footage of a little girl made of shadow with bleak red eyes mercilessly tearing through the defences with unknown means and also the use of what seemed to be retractable claws. Violet looked on with hateful eyes at the creation of ‘Crimson’ and felt pure disgust towards it even if it had purely focused on the eradication of a known threat to other races it was still a pawn in the mad gods game and she needed to eliminate it before it could advance to the opposite end of the board.
The queen soon began to continue explaining what she had learned “We also believe the demon responsible for the shadow creatures resides with DarkWood and acts sort of like protective deity most likely the trigger cause for the shadow-orc war being the orcs trespassing in DarkWood.”
“So it is limited to the forest?”
“No in fact the war between it and the orcs expanded to a third of human territory and only threatened to grow wider in its attempt to kill the orcs. The only reason that more countries and areas wasn’t destroyed was due to the joined efforts of all raises against both the orcs and shadow creatures and contain them within a buffer zone in which they did indeed end with the loss on the orc’s side shortly before the dissipation of the darkness shroud and the creatures that accompanied it.”
The girl lent back further into her chair clearly distressed and seemed to be lulling something over. “What is it?”
“Crimson spoke of a ‘grand finale’ and of ‘puppies’ she will wake up to tear the earth more so than what happened to Gaia as she mentioned more than the awakening of the world dragon.” The girl looked over to Violet pleadingly and was soon met with Violet’s response “First, we kill that thing and see if it gives us any leads on how to kill Crimson. If not we will just have to subjugate the ‘puppies’ one by one or face them all at once when she decided it’s time to commence her ‘grand finale’.” She asked the queen if she could unite the world leaders once more for a consensus and see if she can convince them to help defeat the ‘dark sister’ and put an end to the first pawn in a very odd game of chess.
