Cosmic Peak - Chapter 121
“Interesting…I want to acquire such a skill as well. Let’s go,” Tyrance said with a bit of excitement when he heard of Aren’s idea.
“How did you even think of this few steps ahead, haha. Your brain is fast,” Tyrance said with a laugh.
As such, both Aren and Tyrance left the forest area and started running towards the mountainous area.
After five minutes of running at full speed, they arrived at the foot of the first mountain of this mountain range and started climbing it.
The mountain was not flat tall but had a slow curve going upward, so they basically ran and reached the top of the mountain.
“Hey, Aren, I think this is enough. The taller mountain connected to this one is steep, and we have to climb it. So let’s not waste time doing that,” said Tyrance.
“Yeah, this is enough,” Aren nodded as he looked at the scenery from the top of the mountain.
He then turned to Tyrance and asked while raising his eyebrows, “we didn’t encounter any monster on the way, so you couldn’t level up like me, and without leveling up, you can’t do this.”
However, at this moment, everyone in the Treasure Hunt heard a voice, and the beams started to produce from the ground, rising to the sky.
[The first Hunt has started! Go and Submit the treasure.]
[The next Treasure Lights will produce after one hour.]
Aren and Tyrance were startled as they looked at the tall mountain that was connected to the mountain they were currently standing on. A beam of light was produced from there.
The beams stayed for 3 seconds before they disappeared.
“I guess we are pretty lucky,” Tyrance said with a grin.
“I will first try my idea,” Aren said with a nod before he jumped off the mountain peak.
After seeing the mountains and how he got the skill options by jumping into the raging river, he had gotten this idea. This idea was also one of the reasons why he selected <Aqua Serpents> skill from the skill options.
‘Please work,’ Aren thought as he fell down. He had spread his legs and hands to slightly reduce the fall and also to trigger the skill options.
However, he was not worried about seriously injuring himself by smashing into the ground because he had already conjured three aqua serpents around him, and he was manipulating them as well. If he fails to trigger the skill options, he can stop himself from falling using the serpents.
Just as Aren was halfway to the ground, the skill option triggered.
[Please select one skill out of three]
–> <Wind Blades>
–> <Air Blasts>
–> <Flight Steps>
He didn’t even have to look at all three skills’ descriptions and chose the third skill with amazement written his fast, ‘so the thinking part does take effect. This third skill is almost the same as one of the skills I strongly thought about and imagined.’
The skill’s knowledge went into his brain on how to execute it while he was falling and when he was 10 meters from the ground, he executed the skill as he changed his falling position and…
*swoosh…*
He stopped falling down and instead started walking in the air.
<Flight Steps>
-Cost: 100 spirit energy per step.
-Effect: You can now step into the air and get a boost to jump upward from the soles of your feet. The boost jump will depend on how much strength you exert on your leg before jumping on the air space.
Aren stepped into the air and jumped by exerting his full strength, and just like that, he reached back to the top of the mountain with seven steps.
“Awesome! Now let’s hurridly go towards the treasure. There should be beasts there as well, which will allow me to increase my hunt level,” Tyrance said with a bit of excitement as Aren’s idea succeeded.
Aren nodded, “let’s go.”
Both of them activated <Sprint> and started moving towards the second mountain.
After arriving at the mountain’s foot, they started climbing it. Aren also started climbing it instead of using his <Flight Steps> because he didn’t want to waste spirit energy.
Anyway, they could easily penetrate their fingers into the mountain wall and climb up fast with their strength that had 200 points.
After five minutes of fast climbing, they arrived at the top of this mountain and saw that it was really large up here with more mountains connected to it. Basically, one could build mountainous towns in this extensive mountain range.
“This mountain range is bigger than I expected,” Tyrance said with surprise.
“Yeah, many monsters must be living ahead in such a large mountain range,” Aren nodded and said, “we will continue on this until we reach the end or encounter a valley on the way.”
“Yeah, now let’s go to that cave. Though, that two-headed bear standing outside is mine, ” Tyrance said as he rushed forward to meet the bear.
Aren also followed while looking around carefully. He didn’t believe that nobody beside them was here, especially after seeing such a large mountain range.
‘There should be some people that transported in this mountain range once arriving in this Treasure Zone since it’s this large,’ Aren speculated as he used <Flight Steps> and jumped into the air three times to observe from high-ground.
His Astral-X eyes were working here so he could observe everything around him with more details and with zoom-in and out.
‘Hmmm…’ Aren narrowed his eyes as he saw two shadows approaching them from two kilometers away. They were currently on another mountain that was connected to this one.
Naturally, those two shadows also noticed Aren since he was high in the sky.
“Tyrance, kill that bear quickly,” Aren said as he descended since he could not actually float in the air.
“Almost done,” Tyrance shouted as he dodged the bear’s attack easily with his footwork and chopped its neck off. He had to attack its neck four times before it was finally chopped off.
The bear was really thick with high defense.
Aren entered inside the cave while Tyrance also followed him.
