Cosmic Peak - Chapter 143
‘No way!’
Aren’s mind almost went blank seeing the number of luck, but he knew the direness of the situation and hurriedly spoke with intense panic on his face, “OPEN THE STONE!”
“What?” the young man was startled hearing the shout of the Aren, “Can you first tell me what is my luck?”
*crack….*
*DHOOOOOOOOOOOOM..*
Suddenly, the ground started trembling.
*Slap!*
Aren slapped the young man’s head and spoke with the most severe expression he had ever put on his face, “CUT OPEN A DAMN STONE OR YOU WILL DIE AND ALL OTHERS TOO!”
“What the…,” the young man was dumbfounded at getting slapped, but he nodded and felt that something was wrong. The earthquake was happening as well, and people were worrying.
“Fine, fine,” the young man picked up a silver stone and started cutting it.
*Crack…BOOOOOOOOM…*
Suddenly, the ground cracked near the young man, and he almost fell down, but Aren hurriedly pulled him up and spoke, “cut open the stone! FAST!”
“O-ok…ok, I got it,” the young man sweated buckets and spoke as he continued cutting stone and finished cutting it in the next three seconds.
The earthquake stopped with a loud blast sound. However, the surrounding land had turned into ruins.
Aren looked at one of the crevises and gulped, seeing how deep it looked.
“Damn, and I almost fell into this one,” the young man arrived beside Aren and spoke while shaking his head. He looked at Aren with gratefulness and said with a smile, “thanks for saving me, man.”
Aren looked at him, but what he wanted to look at was his luck status.
—–
[Unknown]
-Current Luck: 74
-Lifespan: 300

Seeing the status, Aren internally sighed a relief. After all, that young man’s previous luck was -100, and even Aren didn’t know what kind of disaster would -100 luck bring.
‘It’s better that I keep silent about this gear,’ Aren thought, ‘I better distract him before he gathers his thoughts from this earthquake.’
“Why don’t you open a blue stone? I am sure that something good will come out of it,” Aren said to the young man who was looking around at the disaster.
“Blue stone?” the young man said as he looked at Aren with a frown, “I have only bought one, and I want to open it carefully. After all, it’s expensive.”
Aren smiled and patted the young man’s shoulder before saying, “trust me and open it. If you get trash, then I will buy you ten blue stones.”
“Huh…, alright. If you say it like that, then I can’t deny it. But you can’t go back on your words,” the young man said as he narrowed his eyes, “you are weaker than me, so if you go back on your words, I will beat you to a pulp.”
Aren wryly smiled and nodded, “you will definitely get something good. My gut instincts are telling me that after I used my charm revolver on you.”
“EVERYONE! WE ARE CHANGING THE SIGHT!”
A manager of a sort loudly spoke as he attracted everyone’s attention.
“Due to some unknown circumstances, the area around here has become very dangerous. If you fall into any one of those hundreds of crevices in this area, then you will likely die. We just checked, and if you fall in inside it, a powerful suction pull will activate and forcefully pull you inside.”
“Manager! How did something like this happen?”
“Yeah, yeah! If this land is dangerous, then you should organize this somewhere else right now!”
The manager shook his head and spoke, “you all must know that this area is one of the clear and safe places in the underworld and the gate at our gambling house is a teleportation gate that leads everyone here. At least, it’s better than our cities and other places where monsters pop out of nowhere.
“However, this type of earthquake is very rare. We are still in the underworld, and something must have happened at the core area below us that caused this earthquake—for instance, a spiritual imbalance or some interference caused by a powerful being’s energy.
“But we all can agree that this is one of the safest places in the underworld where no monsters pop out of nowhere. So let’s just move out of this ruined area.”
Everyone agreed as they started moving. The manager had already stored the teleportation gate inside his inventory when the earthquake started, and all other staff had also put the things inside lest they fall into crevices.
Naturally, some amount of stones still fell down, and they suffered a small loss.
Aren and the young man listened to everything, but the young man decided to finish opening his blue stone first.
Right as he finished cutting it, a golden brilliance released from the stone and attracted everyone’s attention.
The young man checked the item in his inventory and was dumbfounded, “NO WAY!”
Other people knew what that golden brilliance meant and started asking what did he get from it.
They wanted to come there, but this area was littered with crevices and didn’t want to cross them lest some mishaps happened.
“Everyone! Let’s first move out from this area!” the manager spoke before he eyed the young man and thought, ‘don’t tell me he got a legendary item? The Guild indeed mentioned that there were eight legendary items in this batch. I wonder which one did he get.’
…
After half an hour, everyone moved to a new area, and the manager also put up the teleportation gate to return to the gambling den.
People had already surrounded that young man and were asking about the item.
The manager created a stage for him since he wanted to sell the item and arranged an immediate auction for it.
“Be patient, everyone! I am actually planning the sell this legendary Gaia Pheonix’s feather. Those who bid the highest for it gets it!”
The young man spoke as he held the five-meter long feather in his hand and showed it to everyone while standing on the stage. The feather had mysterious shining bright brown sparks whirling around it, while the feather itself looked red-brown and exuded mysterious energy.
The people started bidding while the young man looked for Aren while thinking, ‘I gotta thank that brother, hehehe.’
He looked for a while but didn’t find Aren around him or anywhere from the stage, ‘where did he go? Don’t tell me fell into a crevice? No way, right? Yeah, he came with me here, so obviously, he didn’t fall.’
‘Well, whatever. If I meet him again, then I must offer him a meal and a drink,’ the young man thought with a happy smile as he saw people bidding higher and higher for the legendary feather.
…
“There should be another gambling den in this city. Gotta look for it,” Aren muttered as he started walking the streets of this Underworld city again.
He had converted points back into gold coins and gave back the card before leaving the den.
He still had the uncut stones with him and the tool as well since he had already bought those things.
After roaming for twenty minutes, he finally found another gambling den deeper in the city, and this one was actually bigger.
After finishing all procedures and adding 20,000 points into this gambling den’s card, Aren went to the stone-cutting gambling, where he was transported to another place after passing through the 4th floor’s gate and started cutting two stones every thirty minutes.
He would use [Fortuna Infortunium] revolver on him twice every thirty minutes and open two stones. His plan was to do this until he got 100 in luck.
…
Day 48.
Aren spent nineteen hours on stone-cutting gambling and opened 38 black stones, which means he used revolver 38 times but never got 100. The most he got was 83, but he was not satisfied. He also sold all good items he got from black stones and converted them into points.
Day 49.
Aren continued this for one whole day and spent a total of 4,800 gold coins plus 3,800 gold coins of yesterday. His current balance on the card was 12,872 points since he had converted gold coins he got after selling the things into points.
Day 50.
At the start of today, Aren decided that he would stop at 90 if he got it because that should be high luck and would guarantee his survival in 50/50 odds.
After recovering his Armalist force to 2000 in perfect 30 minutes after meditating, Aren produced the bullet and pulled the trigger while muttering, “first bullet of the day, bring me good luck, please.”
‘Huh?!’ Aren was startled seeing the number of his luck.
