Coven Of Witch Craft - Chapter 6
Three months past since they came to the village. The kids started at a school nearby and Kat stayed home with Connor. But some days she would feel lonely. So finally she went out and found a job. She got lucky and was able to bring Connor. She worked at a spell and potions shop. It was good for her. She got to learn new spells and get better at magic. But after of days passing Kat soon stopped using her magic. She just forgot to use them. She was now use to living without magic. Although while Libra still trained the kids and worked on the plan.
Kat was sitting in the kitchen drinking hot tea watching the sea that her house overlooked.
Riley entered looking tired. He sat at the table and layed his head on the it.
Kat turned to look at him. “Everything okay?” she asked as she sat next to him rubbing his head.
“No…I have so much homework. The teacher thinks I will be able to cast fireballs by the end of this week.” he yawn. “But I’ve been so tired lately that I cant do anything right. I train at night with L and she doesn’t like half lazy things.”
Kat smiled. “I promise everything will be okay. You’ll figure it out.” she kissed his head and went to put the cup in the sink.
Riley sat up and looked at his mother. “Mama…what happen to Leon?” He had been wondering this forever. He just never wanted to ask because he knew his mother would tear up but its been so long that he figured that she wouldn’t mind.
Kat froze. “He left…” she said looking in the sink.
“Oh…how come?” he asked curious.
“Listen Riley why don’t you go play or something…” she bit her lip as she was holding back tears.
“Okay…” he got up and walked out of the kitchen.
When Kat heard his footsteps upstairs she started to break down. “Damn it”
Libra walked in from being downstairs. She noticed Kat crying. She looked away. Even though she was her sister she couldn’t be nice. It would make Kat find out things faster. So she quickly walked past her. Going into the living area. Kat stood there. She stared at the cup. She sighed.
“Everything alright?”
Kat turned to see Libra standing there. “Oh..” She turned to wipe her face. “I’m fine.” she smiled big.
“Well if you need anything and I mean anything please ask me” Libra walked back downstairs.
“I just wish everything was different.” Kat turned back to the sink. She looked up and saw on the calendar that in a couple of days it would be Rileys’ birthday. “Damn…” She rubbed her head. “I forgot my own sons birthday” she quickly went upstairs to his room. She saw him laying on his bed. “Knock knock” she knocked while smiling at him. He looked up at her.
“Oh hey mama.” he sat up.
“Hey baby” she sat on his bed. “You know its your birthday this weekend right? Your big 16” she said laughing. “You are so old but look so young” She teased her son as she kissed his head. “You are always going to be my little man. No matter what” she hugged him tight.
He hugged back. “I know mama.”
Libra watched from the doorway. She was peeking in. She sighed. She too wanted to be a mother to her kids. She looked over at the girls room. They were playing with dolls. She watched then smiling. “My sweet little girls” she said to herself. She shook her head. “No…I must not get attached.” she walked back downstairs and into the basement.
“Mama…” Riley looked up at his mother. “I think I like this girl..” he began to blush. This was the first time he told his mother about anything like this.
Kat smiled big. “Oh well who is she?”
“Well her name is Alvina. She is half elf.” he smiled while blushing. He was remembering her. “I think she likes me. But I don’t know” He fell back.
“Riley you are a handsome boy” Kat looked at the wall. “You look just like your father”
Riley sat up. “Mama I don’t think you ever told me about my dad”
Kat sighed. “I didn’t because I didn’t think you were ready but I think you are now” She turned to him. “The reason you never met your dad is because he left me when I was pregnant with you.” she rubbed her head. “See your grandparents weren’t always nice people. They could be cruel if they wanted. Okay so I was suppose to marry this prince from the sand kingdom. It was a truce marriage but when I met the man he was way older and he hated women. He would always put me down. So I didn’t really love him. But I didn’t have a choice. So I had to marry him. But when I was planing my wedding I met a boy. He had such a Britain accent that just by hearing it made your heart melt.” she smiled. “And well we became close. I told him everything. And Leon didn’t like him at all. Told me that he was bad news. But I didn’t care. I was in love.” she was blushing and Riley saw.
“Mama you liked him” He laughed.
She poked his side. “Oh you shush and let me finish” She laughed. “Well anyways one time we were out past my bed time and well…” she looked at her son nervous.
“Don’t worry mama I know all about sex. I just learned it at school last week” he smiled.
Kat laughed a little. “Well we had sex and I didn’t know my sister, the queen, was watching. So a couple of weeks past and I began to become sick. I soon realize I was pregnant.” she looked at the ground. “And well I didn’t know how to tell my parents. But I didn’t have to. Anna told them. They were furious at me. They told me I was a disgrace to the family. That the man I was suppose to marry found out and called off the wedding. Because he said he didn’t want a wife that wasn’t pure for him. Keep in mind he-” she stopped when she realized Riley was too young for what she was about to say. “and so my parents told me that they would handle the boy. The next days past and I didn’t hear from your dad. I asked my parents but they just refused to tell me. I began to become sad and cry every night. My sister soon told me the whole story. She had said that she over heard our parents talking to him. That they had offered money to him. A lot lot. That he would never had to work in his life as long as he left and never told any one about this. And so he did. He left and I never saw him again. I was so damn sad…I couldn’t stop crying at all not until you were born. Because when I held you in my arms I knew even though the man that I thought loved me was worthless that you were worth having and I wouldn’t have had any other way.” she held her son in her arms.
“I love you mama”Riley says as he hugged his mother.
“I love you too baby” she held on to him like it was the last time. “I’m going to go make dinner okay?” Kat stood.
Riley nodded and she left. He went to pull a notebook from under his pillow. He opened it and started to write.
The weekend came quickly. Riley soon turned 16 and had a wonderful birthday. All his friend came and so did Alvina. He made a great impression on her and soon they started dating.
