It can’t be helped.
Lu Jiaosheng knew that he needs to do something about it. The feeling that he has can no longer be ignored. His emotional state was in such a mess. He has tried everything to forget her. He has devoted his time on his business but there was never a single day that he didn’t miss her.
He wanted to see her.
To be with her.
To hold her.
…..
The next morning.
The dark circles on Lee Chin Mei eyes were noticeable.
“Didn’t you sleep well last night?”
Lee Chin Mei rolled her eyes on her brother. He saw him at the dining area when she had her breakfast.
“If you feel uncomfortable here you can pack your things and go home to the Villa.” he said as he got some water from the refrigerator.
“When are you two getting married?” Lee Chin Mei asked all of the sudden.
He didn’t see that coming and got irritated. “Why are you being so nosy in someone’s relationship?”
“Well, you are now living on the same roof. You act like a husband and wife already. Why don’t you make it legal?”
Lee Jin Ho looked at her sister and he doesn’t know how to respond to her. How could he tell her that he really wanted to marry Tan Ja Nin? But her priority right now wasn’t their relationship but her career. How can he admit to his sister that he was not on top of her priorities.
“Clean everything here after you’re done eating.” He said instead.
Then they heard the door buzzing.
“Do you expect anyone today?” Lee Chin Mei asked.
“None that I can think of.” He said and went to the door to check who was the unexpected visitor. He didn’t notice that Lee Chin Mei trailed off him.
…..
“What are you doing here?” Lee Jin Ho was surprised to see Lu Jioasheng standing at his front door. He wasn’t on his business suit and was so haggard looking.
“Lee Jin Ho, I need to talk to you about something!” Lu Jiaosheng said and did not wait for Lee Jin Ho to tell him to come in. He let himself in but was surprised to see Lee Chin Mei at the back of Lee Jin Ho.
Lee Jin Ho noticed the shocked on Lu Jioasheng face but when he looked at Lee Chin Mei she seems not affected by his presence.
“It is that important that you stormed off to my place as early as 8AM?” Lee Jin Ho asked.
Lu Jiaosheng got tongue-tied. He could not utter any word and just stared at Lee Chin Mei.
“Hi, Big Brother Lu!”
Big Brother Lu?
Big Brother Lu…
The girl onfront of him who was the reason of his sleepness nights was calling him Big Brother Lu…
“Lu Jioasheng!” Lee Jin Ho called out because he looked like he was in trance.
He slowly shifted his gaze to Lee Jin Ho. It took awhile before he came back to his senses.
“Ahhh, I need to talk to you about something. Can we go downstairs?”
Lee Jin Ho smirked. “Why is it something about Lee Chin Mei that you dont want her to hear?”
Both Lu Jiaosheng and Lee Chin Mei got caught off-guard.
The latter’s heart has started to palpitate. Her composure earlier has started to be shaken off.
When she looked at Lu Jiaosheng, the seriousness on his face was telling her something.
Something that was amiss.
It was Lu Jiaosheng who regained his composure first. “Okay since this is something to do with h-…”
“Ge! I think that it is really something important that he wanted to discuss with you that I don’t need to hear. Maybe it’s about business that I don’t know anything of.” She was quick enough to intervene. She felt alarmed. Why was it that she felt that Lu Jiaosheng came here because of her?
He was her agenda.
Was he going to tell her brother about what happened between them in Hong Kong?
Was he crazy?
“Okay! Let’s go!’ Lee Jin Ho said
Lee Chin Mei kept looking at Lu Jiaosheng to give him a warning but he never spare her a glance when he leaves.
…
Lee Chin Mei was restless.
It has been over an hour since the two went downstairs and his brother hasn’t come back yet? What was going on?
So when the door rang, she almost jumped out from the sofa to open the door.
But it wasn’t her brother.
It was her mother.
Her mind lost again.
What was she doing here.
She suddenly looked at his brother’s room when she remembered that Tan Ja Nin was there.
“Where’s your brother?” Her mother asked her and was on the way to his room.
She was quick enough to stop her.
“He went downstairs.” She answered. “What are you doing here Mum?”
She turned up the volume of her voice so that Tan Ja Nin could hear her.
She wanted to give her a warning so she could fix herself because the tiger was here.
“Oh! Where’s Ja Nin?”
“She was inside my brother’s room.”
Her mother did not say a word, but she knew that if she can marry her brother’s off to Tan Ja Nin she would.
“Come back home.” Her mother told her. “Aren’t you feel uncomfortable here?”
She was.
“I will only go back once Dad came back to his senses.”
Her mother sighed. She was caught between these two stubborn people.
“Your father only wants the best for you.”
“Best for me or best for his own business plans?” She could not hide her disappointment.
“But what’s wrong with Master Yang’s son. I’ve already met him and he is such a sensible guy.”
“Mum, the problem is I don’t like to date that guy. Isn’t that what you want? For me to stay focus in my studies now?”
“Okay! But you two can be good friends for now…Who knows, later on when you started getting to know him. You…” She didn’t finish what she wanted to say because the main door suddenly opened.
“Mum….”
