Crossdressing To Survive An Apocalypse - Chapter 353: Past wounds
Murong Jia, the lady of the Murong family, had a blank look on her face when his mum tried to talk to her., she couldn’t recognize her at all.
Yue watched his mother’s expression turn sour. She was on the verge of tears.
His fists clenched. ‘I should not have let them meet so soon…. It was not a good idea… my mum is crying…’ he stepped up to take the old lad elsewhere to be taken care of but all of a sudden the Murong Jia’s eyes regained a bit of clarity.
“Where is he? My grandson… where is he?” she frantically looked around her, and when her eyes fell on Murong Shao who was unconscious and bloody.
Trexa was on his head, checking his injuries.
Murong Jia pounced to pull Trexa off him.
“No, no, she is trying to help.” Yue reached out and grabbed the old lady’s bony shoulders.
When all of a sudden Murong Jia glanced his way and let out a loud shriek.
Yue who was half deaf could hear it so clearly. The sound echoed in his ear drums. His whole body started to tremble violently.
Fan hurriedly shot up and helped close his ears. He felt his husband’s warmth on his back which calmed him down a bit/
Eyes wide open, he glanced at Murong Jia. She was sobbing loudly, hugging Murong Shao.
his own mother was sitting there sobbing as well.
“Fan…. did you feel her scream?”
Fan shook his head. He made sure that they were face to face and whispered. “What did you hear?”
“a loud screech. It was deafening….” he glanced around.
Everyone on their surviving base was shaken up by the previous Zombie horde but they did not react to the old Lady’s scream.
It was so loud but none of the others look affected.
It was like the scream was pointedly attacking him.
Yue looked at the old lady who was hugging her grandson’s head tightly to her blossom. She might be acting up in defense thinking he was trying to hurt Murong.
So, he slowly approached her again.
When he watched her get tense up and open her mouth, he froze.
“I will not hurt him. We are trying to help him. Your grandson is drying… he needs medical help…” he gently touched her shoulders.
The muscles under his palm tensed up slightly. But Yue gently hugged her. “shhh it’s okay. It’s okay. We will not hurt you… I will not hurt you.”
Murong Jia’s stiff body relaxed. And instantly her eyes dimmed. She looked around confusedly and then at him. “Where am I? Where is my grandson?”
Yue did not answer her. He simply smiled and cupped her face. “he is waiting for you in his room. Do you wish to go meet him?”
Murong Jia smiled widely.
“mum…” he glanced at his mum who was silently crying. “can you take her to the isolation cell and stay with Qian and others? She is interfering with his treatment…”
His mum nodded, wiping her wet cheeks hurriedly. “Mum… mum let’s go see Shao. He is waiting for us.” She cupped her chin and made her face away from the bloodied Murong Shao.
Yue held the lady sand up and his mum led them to the isolation chambers.
Trexa jumped down from Yue’s shoulders and glanced at Shao.
“Fan, take Shao to the isolation rooms. Trexa, follow after them. I’ll go and check on the other in the other prison campus.”
Fan grabbed his hand. “Not alone.”
“I’ll be fine.” Yue assured him with a soft kiss to his lips. “He won’t last long if you lay him down on the cold floor. Go. Take him in. I’ll be perfectly safe.”
Fan looked reluctant to leave. “Not alone.” His eyes wandered around the crowd and fell on someone. He whistled and gestured for that person to come.
Yue glanced back.
His sister came over to them with a deep frown. “Fifteen were trampled to death and fifty are injured.” She said, through gritted teeth.
Yue’s heart almost stopped hearing that. Even when they set up a camp in a zombie-infected clearing they did not have any loss like this.
Just one small attack with just fifteen people and they lost almost fifty people’s lives.
Gritting his teeth, he glanced at Fan. “We must teach them how to handle such problems the next time. Blankly panicking led to this disaster. The fifty who were injured, how are their situation?”
Tian regretfully shook her head. “They won’t make it through the night.”
Yue sighed loudly. “Ask uncle Wen to deal with it. the soldiers must be tired too. They must have a rotational shift protecting the people. where’s Chen? What about Juda? Where is she? what about Qian? They are all safe right?”
“Chen is with Qian and others. Juda is safe but I don’t know where Peng Peng is. He must be in this crowd but its hard to find a needle in the haystack.”
Yue felt a small touch on his cheeks. A bee had landed on his face and was buzzing softly.
“Chen, did you find uncle Peng Peng?”
The bee buzzed twice.
“Looks like he found him. Have a soldier follow the bee. Find Peng Peng.” Yue glanced at his sister who was looking at Murong Shao with a weird gaze.
Her eyes looked dull… and lifeless, just like the first time he had met her.
She had the same gaze when looking at him.
Yue immediately grabbed Tian’s wrist. “Why don’t we go to the other prison campus? I need to check on something.”
Tian nodded.
Seeing that Tian was accompanying him, Fan was assured and carried Murong Shao away to the isolation cells.
“Hary is in there, right?”
“Yep, he is there to protect them. Let’s get going.” Tian regained the cheery smile on her face.
Yue still held her wrist softly. “Do you hate him? Is this okay for me to bring him here?”
“I don’t hate him per se……” Tian coldly glanced at the blood stain on the ground. “His family made my life a living hell… and for that I won’t ever forgive him…”
Yue did not know how to console her. He simply hugged her. “I won’t ask you to.”
“But seeing him and that old lady like that didn’t give the pleasure I thought it would. I guess I never wanted revenge in the first place.” She turned over and hugged Yue tightly. “I just wanted to be accepted. And now I have you and mum and ad… I have everyone with me. I don’t have an ounce of feeling for that bloody Murong family.” She smiled at him softly.
Yue hugged her back. “yes, you have us… we will always be with you. We will never give up on you.”
Tian chuckled and pulled away. let’s get that dirty prison sorted out and have an evening snack. Man, I’m starving…”
