Cultivation Mission System - Chapter 12

Mo Feng cursed the system left and right because he was planning to reach the previous cultivation level of Qi Acquiring 6th stage before the competition.

He planned to grind for the next two days, and with the system reward of 2 level-up and his increase in cultivation, he had high hopes of reaching the 6th stage.

When he was feeling depressed, he heard another prompt sound.

“System prompt: EXP gained by the owner during the mission time will be stored in the system. It will be used after completing the mission.”

(Note: EXP will be stored only for 3 days and it will be removed after 3 days if you haven’t completed the mission, and any EXP earned after that will not be stored and punishment will be given.)

Mo Feng cursed the system in his mind again. He was sure the system deliberately waited for him to get depressed before sending out the following system prompt about storing the EXP. Even though, it only had a mechanical voice, he was sure it has sentience.

He also understood couple of things now.

First, when he reached a new level on a mission, he can’t improve increase his stage in that level until he completes the mission.

Second, he has to complete the mission within 3 days after reaching a new level or he won’t get any EXP in that time and he will also receive a punishment. He reminded himself to be plan ahead so that he doesn’t have any mission while upgrading level.

He left the place and went to his hiding place, a tall tree with a tree hole he found couple of days back. He closed his eyes and checked his dantian.

Once a cultivator reached Qi Acquiring stage, he will gain internal vision to check his dantian to release the seals in his dantian.

Qi cleansing level cultivators absorb the heaven and earth Qi to cleanse their bodies and purify it.

Whereas, for Qi Acquiring level cultivators, it is to unseal their dantian. According to what Mo Feng learned from his grandfather, every cultivators’ dantian is sealed by 10 seals. Once they purified their body using Heaven and Earth Qi and reached Qi Acquiring level, they can absorb more purified Qi and store in the seal.

Once the seal is saturated, it breaks and let a part of Qi enters the dantian and the Qi was used by the cultivator as his own. And as more seals break, ore Qi is acquired by the cultivators to be used as his own, which is the reason behind the level called Qi acquiring stage.

Once a cultivator breaks all the seal in his dantian, he become an Innate Qi master who has his own Qi stored in his dantian and used it to nourish the dantian.

Mo Feng’s knowledge ends here, he only heard the next stage above Innate Qi master is Spirit masters, but he doesn’t have much knowledge about it.

The reason Mo Feng recalled this information is, his dantian had some difference compared to what was said by his grandfather.

He was informed that every cultivator has only 10 seals, but he found his dantian was covered by 50 seals.

‘What the hell is this? That means everyone have to break 10 seals, but I have to break 50 seals before I became an Innate Qi master? And how am I supposed to be levelled? Should I be called Qi Acquiring 50th stage when I break 50 seals?’ Mo Feng cursed in his heart.

But he felt a bit better when he saw that he already broke 2 seals, when he was just in the Qi Acquiring 1st stage. He attributed it to the point he has more Qi than other cultivators.

When his thought process came up to this point, he realised another important point. His Qi value first increased because he took the saint pill and recovered his dantian.

He wondered ‘Is it because the saint pill improved my dantian so my dantian has more seals?’

He wondered if there are other people who have more seals in their dantian. He hasn’t met anyone but he thought of his mother’s family which is much much stronger and was sure there should be cultivators in that family with more seals in their dantian.

He also understood that if he levels up his [Godly elephant Prajna Scripture], he can cultivate faster because apart from improve his body, it also increased his Qi value.

So he calmed down and spent the next day mainly practicing [Godly Elephant Prajna Scripture] and killing monster beasts in the meantime. But even with less time spending in killing monster beasts, he got lots of EXP stored in the system in one day.

It was 5th day evening, and only 2 days away from the competition. Mo Feng opened his eyes and exhaled deeply with turbid air.

“System prompt: Congratulations for Player to reach Level 1 in Godly Elephant Prajna Scripture. Body strength increased, Qi value doubled. Proficiency needed to reach Level 2 – 0/2500.”

Thanks to him reaching Qi Acquiring 1st stage, his Qi value reached 1000+, which also helped him reach level in the scripture in just one day.

The system prompt continued,

“System prompt: Congratulations for the Player for completing the mission. Player reached Qi acquiring 1st stage, and first level in Godly Elephant Pranja Scripture.”

“System reward – 2 level up, EXP released from the system.”

“System prompt: Congratulation for Player to reach Qi Acquiring 3rd stage. EXP needed to reach next stage – 86,000/300,000!”

“Damn you system!” cursed Mo Feng loudly.

It was only 60,000 EXP to reach from 1st to 2nd stage of Qi Acquiring level. If the system had used his EXP to level him to 2nd stage and provided 2 level ups, he would have been in 4th stage now. It had to do 2 level ups first and put the EXP in the points to reach 4th stage.

He knew it is doing this to get back at him for him cursing at it. He then looked at the seal in his dantian, and found he broke 8 seals so far.

“System reward: Congratulations for player to upgrade Minor shadow steps to Earth level mid grade technique, Shadow Steps. Level directly increased to Level 2. Proficiency needed to reach level 3 – 0/250.”

He heard of the Shadow steps. It was a high level technique in the Mo family and only Innate Qi masters are allowed to practice that technique.

“System reward: 25 skill points.”

“System reward: Special reward package opened. Check the reward in the system interface!”

Mo Feng checked the rewards and sighed ‘Even this can be received in the system rewards.’

While he was having a complicated feeling looking at his interface, he had system prompt but with two beeps unlike the usual single prompt sound.

“Emergency mission: Kill Hong Lingwan before the start of the competition. Reward: 1 level up, 1 lottery chance, 1 special reward.”

Mo Feng was confused by the mission and wondered who this Hong Lingwan is, but then he received another system prompt which gave an idea who he might be.

“Additional mission: Destroy the Ouroboros gang in Red Mountain city before the competition. System reward: 1 level up, Random Earth level skill, Heaven level Defensive talisman (Able to withhold the attack of Initial stage Innate Qi masters), 1 special reward.”

(Note: Fail to complete the Emergency mission before the competition will result in punishment.)

After receiving the additional mission, he more or less guessed that Hong Lingwan might be the mysterious leader of the Ouroboros gang, but what he couldn’t understand is why the system gave this mission to him to kill the leader of Ouroboros gang since he heard the leader is an Innate Qi master, but the stage is not clear.

He also didn’t get why he has to destroy the gang before the competition. But he believed there must be a reason, after all the system gave him the mission of becoming the Qi acquiring stage t prepare him for the competition before he even knew about it.

So there must be a reason for it to give such a mission. Even though he still did not want to kill humans, he understand that it is not Earth and he has to change himself and this mission is his best choice to get used to it since none of the people in Ouroboros gang is a good person.

Moreover, he doesn’t have to fight the entire gang by himself. He planned to return to the clan immediately and ask help from his grandfather to destroy the Ouroboros gang.

What Mo Feng didn’t know was that the danger was already closing in on him and he is already in a life and death crisis without him even knowing it.
