Cultivation Through Artifacts - Chapter 365
Not far away from Moon Academy, inside a newly built mansion which was relatively big with two floors and many rooms, Liza was sitting inside the living room before a huge table with Miss Mary sitting on her right and Dan standing not far away from behind her. There was even Rubie present on one of the plant’s top, her figure rather grown figure as majestic and arrogant as ever.
“No news about him even after a month?” Miss Mary asked with a worried tone, her eyes subconsciously shifting to the little girl on her side who became completely silent and indifferent for weeks now, since the moment Khal went on missing to be exact.
Ever since Khal vanished without any sign of finding his whereabouts, both Miss Mary and Liza used whatever means they could do to find him, but no matter where they searched or what kind of methods they tried to do, nothing worked.
They even went and asked for Jas’ and Logan’s help, but to their great surprise, they were just as clueless as they were; Khal simply vanished into thin air without leaving behind any sign!
Dan, who was silent all this time upon hearing Miss Mary’s question closed his eyes and shook his head gently, “I fear, it is the case, ma’am. We have tried our best, but even after searching back the exact route the Young Master has taken before disappearing, we found nothing.”
Miss Mary and the whole room fell into deep silence when she heard Dan’s words, trying to digest the truth that was right before her even at this very moment. She tried not to think about the worst, but after weeks of finding nothing, she couldn’t avoid reality any longer; she had to admit that Khal have gone totally missing and was very likely… dead.
“Sigh…” Miss Mary let out a deep sigh that seemed to carry all the negative emotions a human could possibly have and began to gently massage her temple with somewhat trembling fingers.
One didn’t have to be a genius to know she was using every ounce of her willpower to surpass her currently felt emotions that threatened to break onto the surface like a tidal wave.
While the three remained silent, each immersed deeply in their own thoughts, suddenly a great tremor shook the walls of the mansion around them before a loud yell filled with cockiness sounded from the outside.
“This is the final warning, criminals! If you wish to remain alive and see daylight ever again, do as I say and come out this instant!”
“Tsk… Annoying pests!” Liza suddenly hissed angrily and stood up, obviously attempting to walk out of the building and give a piece of her mind to the ones outside.
Since the day Khal have gone missing, the Ourvi Family attempted to recruit her into their family even more aggressively than ever before, even trying to capture her and force her to join them out of her free will!
In the beginning, things were pretty much easy to handle with Miss Mary and Jas around, but as days have passed and the more the Ourvi Family tried, things have gradually gotten out of hand, to the point where Jas and Logan was incapable of helping.
Of course, they didn’t help them because they wished not to, but rather because they were forced to remain at the sidelines or else even they would be listed as criminals, the ones that killed the heir of the Ourvi Family, Alde Ourvi!
About a week or so ago, the Ourvi Family acquired just enough evidence to know that the one killing Alde was none other but Khal, an orphanage who attended the same Academy as Alde did.
According to sources, the Ourvi Family was able to find an individual from the Eastern Continent that possessed a unique Talent, capable of creating a special domain selected locations where she could rewind time and rewatch scenes that happened there in the past!
Since then, the Ourvi Family found out the truth behind Alde’s death, hence anyone that had even the smallest tie with him before has gotten captured, their fates unknown even until this very moment!
Naturally, individuals such as Jas and Logan that had unique backgrounds and were existences that couldn’t be messed with that easily were able to avoid the deathly grasp of the Ourvi Family, but the others, unfortunately, were not that fortunate.
Seeing as Liza stood up and walked toward the gates, Miss Mary and Dan appeared before her, obviously with the attempt to calm her down and stop her from doing anything stupid.
“Liza, my dear… Please, listen here. I know how you are feeling at the moment, but going out there won’t give you any good at all, I promise! While you are here, you are safe. They cannot come through the formation Dan put up around the mansion, not even if several top experts start to bombard it without rest.” Miss Mary said calmly, but deep within her eyes the concern and worry were greatly noticeable.
“I don’t care,” Liza said indifferently as she waved her hand toward Rubie, making her appear and land on her shoulder swiftly with seeming imperceptible speed in the very next instant.
“Then what do you even wish to achieve all alone against them? Fight them? The Ourvi Family is not something that you can just wipe off from the earth’s surface just because you wish to! Speak with them? They already stated you are a criminal and will do whatever they can to get their hands on you! The best at the moment would be if yo-”
Bam!
Without waiting for Miss Mary to finish her sentence, Liza kicked the mansion’s door wide open and with an indifferent and sharp gaze swept through the hundreds of cultivators that crowded at the other side of the half-transparent barrier that had been built around the mansion.
“It seems you have finally decided to come out!” Edwin, one of the most trusted men Anred had, stood with a wide grin on his face, his eyes glaring at Liza behind the barrier with a sharp gaze.
“So? Will you finally hand yourself over, or will you watch as I will make this weak and fragile barrier of yours collapse right before your very eyes? Of course, if you decide to choose the latter, your punishment will be much more severe afterward, so hope you choose wisely.” Edwin said threateningly, his grin rather cocky and arrogant.
Liza squinted her eyes when she heard the question and was about to open her lips when suddenly a cold, but rather familiar voice appeared in the air, coming from right behind Edwin and his men!
“It seems the Ourvi Family has become even more daring than ever before.. Perfect, at least another reason why I should kill all of you guys once and for all.”
