Cursed Souls - Chapter 1 Prologue
‘Just one day…Just one more day…’ she thought to herself.
At this point, she started to grow tired of living. Every moment she was here with them, she was just reminded of how different everything is now. How they used to be passerby’s and strangers, the type of people you passed by every day without a second thought or fear. Survival for this long was strategic, living by the unspoken but outlined rules are how you got through another day. Just then the others came. The others called themselves the Bows. They walked through there sector with bats to make sure none of us IBBIES were in their territory. Around this time every day, they would do the periphery checks. Just then a girl named Ailee was found by the Bows. Ailee was hiding in the trash can scoping out the exterior of there sector. Ailee was a small girl, she had dark brown eyes and red hair. I felt my head pulsing and all I could hear was the thump thump thump thump of my heart in my ears. My heart was raising. It was silent. Just then there was a blood-shattering scream, then BOOM CRUNCH BAAM. She could hear the signs of a struggle then nothing. It was as if someone blew the flickering lights of fire from this world. By month 8 of this new reality, one knew the unspoken outlined rules. This was a new reality. The door opened and the first boy walked out from the room. Two more Bows came with cleaning supplies.
“Was it messy?” one of the cleaning Bows said.
“Nope not with this one, she snapped easy, she was so tiny her neck just snapped as a twig” one said with a grim chuckle in their voice.
The two cleaning Bows walked away. After that, the guard walked the outside boundary. The next thing I saw was Ailee being dragged out of the room. Her neck bruised and weirdly contorted to the side. Her body dragged motionlessly…lifeless…
