Cursed Souls - Chapter 13 13 Taken
“Why put her here?”
“You got a better idea?”
“Shut up both of you!”
Three voices seemed to be arguing back and forth among themselves. Oaki opened her eyes. She felt too weak to move. All she could do is just sit there propped up against the cold damp stone wall and dirt. Her shirt was ripped. She was in a grey tank top and hospital short pajamas, which wasn’t the best attire to be wearing in a cold wet cavern. She tried to get up but only was able to slightly lift up herself before dropping back down. She looked around and faded out of consciousness again.
“Well, what now genius?”
“I don’t know you tell me?”
Just then oaki looked down and saw a bucket of water. Her hands were chained to the wall behind her back. Her feet were bare. They were also tightly chained to the floor. Just then the chains were yanked causing a jolt a pain throughout her entire body. They had been tightened to the point where she could feel where the bruises were.
“They’re late!” The third voice shouted impatiently.
It was a deep voice belonging to a short but muscular boy. He jerked the chains again. He got kicks and giggles seeing her in pain.
“Well, princess looks like your “family” isn’t coming to save you after all!” He said with a grin.
Oaki didn’t mind if they didn’t come. She didn’t want any of her friends or family to save her when there was a crazy lunatic after them probably trying to kill her. She didn’t want to imagine what they would do to her friends. He grabbed the chain again. She was too weak to get up. It was pitiful. He grabbed her hair and pulled her whole body up then threw her against the wall and watched her slowly fall down. She screamed. She could feel a rock digging into her back leaving a long scratch. Another boy came over. He winced at the sight of oaki.
“Time for your initiation,” the deep voice said joyfully, then continued, “ruff her up a bit and make sure she has looked pathetic!” He said laughing.
She pushed her body into the corner of the wall away from him. He walked over and kicked her. She screamed again.
“Ring her up” he demanded.
The boy attached the chains to a metal loop in the ceiling then pulled her body slowly up to a standing position. Then a little higher so her feet couldn’t touch the ground. She faded out of consciousness again. Her wrists were bleeding from the chains and the weight of her own body. The blood stained the chains as it ran down them. SPLASH. They threw a bucket of water on her. She was shivering. The boy felt mercy and reeled the chains back so she fell to the floor. Just then the bucket was filled up again and placed in front of her the third stranger walked up to her in all black and dunked her head into the bucket. She was gasping for air, but like some sick twisted game right before she couldn’t breathe they pulled her head out of the bucket. They did this three times then pulled the chains to the ceiling again and left her like that. They walked away and talked among themselves. She fell back into cold deep sleep. She didn’t have any more energy. If she died right here and now she wouldn’t care. Just then they came back.
“Had enough princess?”
She laughed. “That’s all you got?”
He walked over to her. She looked down at him and spit in his face. He wiped the spit then struck her face with a punch. Her mouth was bleeding and her eye was swollen.
“Well, it’s been fun you psychos. Why don’t you kill me now?”
She could tell by the look in his eyes that it crosses his mind. He took a knife in his hand then dropped it.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself. Don’t worry death will come eventually. Just be patient.”
She couldn’t feel her fingers toes or feet anymore. Her head was pounding and her body aching.
“Okay. Take your time.” She mocked him.
He turned around and pushed her into the wall and lifted her up more knowing the rock was digging into her back.
Just then she heard someone coming down the stairs.
“RUN!” She screamed trying to warn whoever was the coming down the stairs into the tunnel. The strong muscular boy hit her again, everything faded out again.
