Cursed Souls - Chapter 14 14 Nina

Ember Elijah and Ava burst down the stairs. They saw the three boys from the BOWs. They all looked at each other unsure of what to do. Just then the leader grabbed a walkie-talkie from his pocket. Oaki was nowhere to be in sight. She escaped and ran down the tavern into the darkness away from them.

“I need help here!” he screamed angrily.

The other two boys looked at the leader.

“What should we do Quin?” they asked him.

Just then Chris sauntered down the stairwell.

“Some organized kidnapping you got going on here,” he said sarcastically chuckling.

The leader scoffed and looked over to him. “Some rescue you have going on Your an hour late!” Quin said shooting a menacing smile over to him.

“Oh I know,” he said in a confident snappy way as he smugly smiled.

Noah snuck down the stairway behind them and held one of the boys from the BOWs. Then Chris spoke again.

“If you want your. Well lackie.. Back then give us Oaki.” Quin looked over shocked.

“Do you really think I’m that dumb? She isn’t here. You do things on my terms.”

Chris walked slowly up to Quin. Even through Quin was a lot bigger than him he showed no fear. He simply walked up.

“Oh meatball, that’s not how this is going to work.” he swiftly stepped behind the Quin twisting his arm up behind his back and shoving his face down to the ground. Chris continued. “Now where is she Gordo.” forcing his knee into his back.

The girls couldn’t help but smirk a little. They loved Chris’s snappy witty nicknames and personality. Ember could clearly see he was a man on a mission. Kure snuck up to the other lackie. He was coming with a knife towards Chris. He grabbed the knife from the boy and held it to his throat. Suddenly the Quin started laughing.

“Your mistake. I’m not the leader,” he said in a sick twisted voice.

Five more people approached from behind the unit. One of the boys came from behind Ava and put a knife to her throat. Kure looked over to her. The boy he was holding grabbed the knife from his hand and stabbed Kure in the thigh. Any sense of control that the Unit and Chris had thought they gained was just an illusion. Chris dug his knee into the boys back.

“Attaching a girl gentlemen. has chivalry become lost to you? Let’s make a deal. You let the girls go, and we will let your two men go.” Chris said.

“Why would we do that? Your outnumbered eight to five and two of yours are girls and one of yours is injured… your clearly at the disadvantage” one of them said smugly.

They pushed the girls down from there grasp onto the floor. Ember and Ava got to their feet and went over to Kure.

“Your all pathetic.” the same boy said again.

Chris let go of the ‘Meatball’ he had been holding and looked over to Noah to let the other boy go as well.

“Now let’s be rational about this?” Noah said as he pushed the boy over to the group of Bows.

“Where’s the girl?” the boy who seemed to be the leader said looking over to Meatball.

Quin went up to the boy and whispered into his ear.

“YOU WHAT?” he said outraged. Grabbing him by the shoulders jolting him backward.

The leader then took out a knife and plunged it into his heart. Quin struggled to the ground holding the knife. He slowly bleeds out. The boy then leaned down and took the knife out from Quinn’s chest, then proceeded to take out a handkerchief and wipe his knife clean.”

The unit looked over in fear and shock. Not sure of what to do or say.

“Now to business.” the boy said flicking out his handkerchief, then continued. “How did you get the video?”

“Not so fast,” Noah said. “Where is Oaki?”

The smallest boy in the group looked fourteen years old. After Noah talked he went over.

“Boss”

“SHUT UP Lee!” the “boss,” said shooting a look of immense anger.

“From my understanding, you are the ones who was an hour late to this little suicide crusade? Am I wrong? You don’t get to be ‘rational’ about this. You help us on our terms and we will let your smart-mouthed pathic friend go.”

Chris looked over thinking. Then slowly walked over to Noah’s side and whispered.

“Psst hey prince charming they don’t have her.”

“How do you know?” Noah asked in a hushed tone.

“There is blood on the chains my guess is that it is Oaki’s and there is a small trail going into the taverns somehow I highly doubt that they were just feeling generous and decided to let her go” he said.

“Answer the question!” the “boss,” said interrupting.

“The building gave it to me,” Chris said stepping forward. “Now where is she?” he said.

“Not so fast. You won’t be able to get her that easy.”

A girl approached from the staircase. She was tall and skinny like a model. He had dark brown eyes almost the color of black, with jet red hair and black tips. She was dressed in tight leather pants and a red skinny tank top and combat boots.

“Now boys” she said slowly in a sort of seductive voice. “Play nice.”

“Nina?” Chris said in shock. “What are you”

“Oh, Chrissy…shhh,” she said mocking at him.

“Why do you have to be such a..” He said.

“Woah now don’t say anything you might regret now..” she said looking at him smirking. “Well at least not if you want your O whatever back”

They clearly had some kind of history. Kure got up to his feet fast.

“Nina?” he said stammering.

She looked over at him then down at his leg. She instantly looked over to the group of boys.

“WHO DID THAT?” she demanded looking at the eight boys.

All of them looked at the boy who had stabbed Kure’s leg. She walked up in front of him and took the knife from his hand and plunged it into his leg then turned it.

“You didn’t listen to my orders! How does it feel?” she said turning the knife again before pulling out of his leg. “You three take him up to get medical treatment!” she shouted at three of them and pointed over to Kure. “and if he has any other injuries” she paused. “Don’t test me!” she said.

The three boys ran over to help Kure. Kure stood up and walked over past Nina?

“I’ll show myself out actually but not before I get my sister!” he said.

Nina walked up to him and pushed him against the wall aggressively smiling sadistically.

“Oh baby, I’ve missed you,” she said putting her finger below his chin and slightly lifting it.

Kure froze. She leaned in to kiss him.

Ava got up and pushed her away. “Who the hell are you?” she said highly agitated with Nina.

“Awh Kure is this your little girlfriend?” she said mocking her.

She turned to ava. “Oh, honey you foolish girl he will abandon you as soon as he finds someone else who captures his attention. You’re not special. Fortunately for him, he has me” Nina said smiling over at him. Then pushed Ava to the ground.

“Nina stop this! It was over a long time ago you know that! Lay a finger on Ava again and just watch what happens!” he said yelling at her.

“Oh, baby there’s that fighting spirit I missed”

The boy “boss” walked over to her and whispered in her ear. She smiled.

“Shame shame,” she said shrugging.

She turned over to Chris and Noah.

“Now Chrissy be a good boy and just tell me how you got the video. And I will let your sad little crush live.” Nina said, then turning over to Kure, “and well I guess your sister..” she looked toward Noah, “and whatever she is to you” She said with disgusted.

Ava was not amused by whoever this Nina girl was. She got the impression that Nina loved causing problems and creating drama.

“Hmm well, boys lets make things interesting” she paused.

Then looked over at her men, and gestured her head as if to say ‘get them’. She looked over at Kure who had firmly gotten up to his feet with some amusement. Kure interrupted as all the BOWS were walking toward them.

“It hardly seems fair if they have weapons and we don’t…. don’t ya think.”

“Okay then men drop your weapons,” she said glancing over to them.

Kure tore fabric from around his shirt and wrapped it around his leg. Then all of the boys in the Unit and men in the BOWS fought. Kure was in mixed martial arts, so right off the bat, he was able to knock two guys out. Chris seemed to be more of a street fighter. He was very good at hitting fast and hard. Noah seemed to be the least familiar with fighting, but after getting hit a few good times he learned a defensive and offensive form of fighting. Nina watched snickering on the sidelines.

“I guess if you boys are able to take my men then the original bargain is back on the table, Oaki for the tablet.” She said undemindingly.

The boys from the Unit seemed to fight with more precision and strategy. Only Chris and a Bow were left when Chris buckled over holding his head. The BOW continued to go after him kicking him to the ground. Chris screamed for Oaki while holding his head with his eyes shut tight. Then he opened his eyes. His eyes went from a bright forest green to a glossed over white. Then he got to his feet and started fighting again. Except these moves and techniques didn’t appear to be his own. He was using boxing forms and jiu-jitsu, forcefully hitting hard then manipulating his enemies’ joints against him. The Bow went down to the ground and had passed out, and Chris’s eyes went back to his normal bright forest green color. Kure’s leg was bleeding out. He looked over at Chris’s fighting style thinking of Oaki and how she trained and fought in a similar manner is fast and efficient. Then Ava and Ember helped Kure to the Meda-U.

“Here is the tablet,” Chris said taking it out of his jacket and extending it out to Nina.

She quickly grabbed for it as he swiftly pulled it back.

“Not so fast” Chris said

“WHERE IS SHE?” Noah interrupted.

“Stupid stupid girl she ran away down into the unlit tunnels.” Nina said then snatched the tablet.

“You boys have fun finding her, best of luck.” she said blowing them kisses “Until we meet again”. Then she walked over to grab the walkie-talkie.

“I need people to come to get these morons now!” she screamed. Then she dropped it on one of the BOWS and walked up the stairs.
