Cursed Souls - Chapter 22 22 Developments
Oaki breathed in and calmed down. She gained her composure and cleaned herself up. Chris lost the connection with her. It was like as soon as she gained composure she put up a wall and went back to blocking him out leaving him in the dark about how she actually feels.
“I’m sorry.” He said turning toward her.
“Haha I’m just being a cry baby,” she said chuckling. “Don’t work it won’t happen again.”
“You don’t have to act like you don’t feel real things for people! I wish you would stop that!” He said looking at her in disgust.
He wished she would be real and let him in more. Even if it tore his heart apart to fell, he realized that’s how she felt about him, but also that that’s the exact way he felt when she was kidnapped.”
“I’m sorry I can’t be perfect for you!” She got up and went back down the hallway. He ran right into Noah. He knew something was off but decided she looked like she needed some space. Se went to the boxing gym area and put on equipment. Chris followed putting on equipment too. She walked into the ring and started to shadow box when Chris stepped in.
“Hit me, princess.” He said trying to egg her on.
She turned away and continued her routine in the opposite direction. He walked in front of her and started to walk toward her backing her into a corner.
“You can pretend but I can’t. I felt everything you felt. But I’m not gonna live in denial anymore. I know this whatever it is between us the connection makes you uncomfortable. So I’m gonna ignore that at the moment. Let’s practice. I don’t know how I know this But I know it will help what you are feeling right now” he said bowing down then putting his hands up to spar.
She started to punch at him and became focused on her training. This This was her escape to distract herself from feelings and everything. He took hit after hit after hit when he finally struck back knocking her off her balance. She fell backwards in the ring. He had placed his leg behind her knee then pushed her shoulders. She wrapped one of her legs around him causing him to fall as well. He put his elbows out on the floor. She laid on the ground looking up at his sweaty face in sparing equipment. He was on top of her holding himself up. She bucked her hips then quickly subdued him to the floor locking his hands on each side of his head. (This was one of her more famous go to grappling moves when ground fighting) She let him go and got up when he used his legs to trap her and make her fall again. They both laid next to each other drenched in sweat staring up at the ceiling. All in all, they had been fighting each other for two hours. She felt comfortable around him. Fighting with him left her feeling more relaxed. She let her guard down and opened her mind and let the memories flow. He saw everything that happened with her and Will. He was one of the first people she had opened up to other than Will. He could feel her fear inside her heart when sharing these memories with him. He opened his mind and let her see his pathetic distraught state when she was in that coma and ones from when he was a child and how his dad treated him. They both somehow were able to show each other memories they wanted each other to see. She looked over at him and closed her mind off from him. He reached down to grab her hand when she moved away from him getting up. Thanks for the practice, however, I’m rather tired I must be going. She walked away, in a panic thinking to herself ‘he isn’t allowed to feel that way about me. He deserves better.’
