Cursed Souls - Chapter 29 29 Routine
The next day she woke up. She was cuddled up into his chest with one of her legs over the top of him. His arm was underneath her head and his head slightly leaned over in her direction. They both awoke slowly at the same time. She rolled over to her side and looked at the ground while scratching her head awkwardly. It wasn’t that she felt uncomfortable about him. It was more the thought of how normal that felt. She felt safe and secure in his arms and she liked his scent. He slowly walked his way over to the kitchen area and started the stove up with a pan for water.
She got out of bed and started to the bathroom. “Your hair is super soft and you smell really nice darlin’ like sweet fresh peaches ” he said winking at her. He almost did things just to annoy and embarrass her. Or at least that’s what it felt like.
“Ick” She said while closing the curtains behind her. Her heart felt kinda happy and giddy inside her as she thought about him. With him it felt so much easier and more comfortable then how it was with Noah. She felt like she had a different connection and vibe with him. Although he wouldn’t be admitting any of these new found feelings for him to him. It was just kinda nice to be paired with him. She got dressed and walked out of the bathroom.
“I should have breakfast ready in about five minutes.” He said while putting an egg and Ramen into the pot.
“Okay.” She said not being able to hold back a smile. She was starving and the food actually smelled pretty good. She really hoped it would taste as good as it smelled.
He walked over to the dresser and grabbed a tank top and put it on before walking back to the stove to stir the food.
“Im kinda particular with how I like to live. One of the things I like to do is if I cook I want you to set the table so we can eat. And after all meals we can switch between who does the dishes.”
She walked over next to him and opened the cabinet and stood on her tiptoes to reach two bowls for them and two forks. What he asked isn’t unreasonable. And frankly it didn’t really shock her. He just kinda seemed more particular and straight to the point in deminor in general. She set the table and grabbed two cups. She put an orange juice vitamin energy mix in a small container then poured the mixture a little over half way in each cup. He came over to the table with the pot of food and started to serve an equal amount into each bowl. They both slurped there noodles and ate without talking very much. They looked to the door and saw it as still locked shut tightly.
“So what do you want to do before we get our next set of weird directions?” He asked looking toward her.
“I can clean up breakfast and maybe you can open the blinds and wipe down the table?”
“Well yeah. That sounds fun and good and all. But I mean after. The doors don’t unlock for everyone until 8 am. And we woke up around 6a. So we have a little over an hour and a half now So after we clean up what do you want to do.”
“I sure hope your not suggesting we do anything” She paused unsure of how to continue
.
“We could read. We could play 20 questions. We can make our house rules for this room. We could lay down boundaries. You can admire me again like last night. It’s really up to you.”
“Okay let’s lay down boundaries and rules. And after that you can decide what to do next.”
“Okay smoki. Sounds good.” He said smirking. “So what our your boundaries?” He asked bluntly.
“Boundaries and rules.. Hm No dirty messy house. No walking around naked. No inviting different people into the house without consulting each other. No drinking and I can’t really think about anything else right now.” She said while finishing up the dishes.
“Sounds good same for me.” he said while throwing the rag into the sink. “So how’s your leg feeling?”
“It’s feeling just fine hey and about last night thank you.” She said shyly.
“Wow. It absolutely blows my mind that you can actually be nice.” He said jokingly to her.
She walked over to the bookshelf and picked up a book about engineering. He laid on the bed sitting in the sun light sleeping as his tan skin had a sun kissed glow to it. An hour passed and the doors unlocked. She looked over to the ‘shifting paper’ and started to read the next command.
“Look for the missing 10.”
