Cursed Souls - Chapter 6 6 The Outside

Everyone gathered in the stadium for breakfast. After breakfast people talked about the early assigned job. Some kid named Sam was the morning announcer. There were a few people assigned to breakfast duty and people placed in agriculture so far. More rumbling came from the ground again. More earthquakes.

“Now it’s time for our community meeting.”

Just then alarm bells started to siren. The building started to rumble.

“Warning floors 25-30 are now being dissolved. REPEAT floors 25-31 are being dissolved. Population decreased by 25%”

Just then the telemonitor went on. CRASH. ZOON. A group of 51 girls and 50 boys went outside to go visit the school. The monitor showed what had happened 10 minutes ago. The earthquake started to shatter and the ground split. All the people outside fell into the split ground. Then the ground rubbles again after the floors were taken away and the ground closed over them crushing them. For those who survived the fall, the screams rang in everyone’s ears. The telemonitor clicked off. And the room fell silent again. Day 2 total mortality: 102 people.

Ember, Oaki, Elijah, and Noah all held hands and started to pray. Most people were crying and praying. There was nothing they could have done to save them. And they died in such a horrible way. After the telegram, no one was in the mood for the “community meeting”. So they all were assigned project Floor Detail. Everyone had to meet with people living on their floor and have a meeting. After they decided how the order would be established tomorrow they were to come to the community meeting and report ideas. Everyone left the cafeteria. And went back to there rooms. Just then an electric surge went off. The tornado had struck. Everyone went down to the agricultural bunkers. Everyone was assigned two animals to care for, as well as plot lines for food and what each “family unit” was responsible for growing and harvesting. As everyone remained there quietly after the distribution discussion a boy and a girl fell over from a standing position. Three girls screamed and people jumped back. They had been stabbed to death…. death count 104 people. And in day two of living in this new reality. The division was created. And the Ibbies and the Bows were born.
