Cybernetic Array God - Chapter 14 Investigation And Recovery
Cyrus wrapped his divine sense around the jewel and the area around it. He was surprised about what he saw. He scanned the entire area around it a few more times before believing it. A net of turquoise lines extended outwards from the jewel. The net of lines was branching out and disappearing into the ground.
‘What is this thing?’
He decided to take care of the robed skeleton first. As soon as he touched the skeleton it crumbled into dust leaving behind a tattered robe and the necklace.
The robe was much sturdier and Cyrus decided to pick it up once he made sure that there weren’t any other forces dwelling around it. There were traces of intricate embroidery along its edges. The entire robe was expertly stitched together with an unknown material.
On its back, there were traces of an upside down five. Cyrus immediately connected it to the book he’d found in the city. That book had the exact same symbol on it.
‘It seems like both of these things are connected somehow.’ For now, he didn’t know what to make of this thing so he set it aside and focused on the necklace.
There didn’t seem to be any form of lingering energy in it but as soon as he forced his Qi into the necklace it disappeared.
He was startled but seeing that there weren’t any major reactions from it he decided to pick it up. The necklace was covered in dust. Once the dust and grime were wiped off it gave way to a beautiful treasure. The golden chain was about five centimeters thick and its center was inlaid with a black jewel of unknown origins.
‘Wow’ he set the necklace aside and after examining the necklace with his divine sense for a while he decided to finally pick it up. To be honest, without his Qi there wasn’t a single method that was viable in his arsenal. This pointed out one singular fact to him: he was too dependent on Qi.
Cyrus picked up the turquoise gem and turned it around. A huge crack extended along its surface. He couldn’t see anything extraordinary about it by just using his sight but as soon as he used his divine sense to intrude upon it a torrent of energy gushed out and barged into his body and spirit!
“AGHHHHH!!!” he instinctively activated the only weapon in his arsenal: the LF Array. Both of his pupils glowed with a blue and red hue but this time a dot of red and blue also formed in pupils.
Two different phantoms appeared behind the man. One of them was a huge red woman with no facial features and the other was a huge blue muscular man similar to the other phantom.
Both of the phantoms didn’t move to attack the gem instead the phantoms just stood there rigidly. Intense pain was assaulting Cyrus’s hands right about now. It felt like ants were digging into his very flesh and rending it apart but it wasn’t the physical pain that was the problem instead, it was the pain assaulting his very spirit!
Slowly, a net of lines formed around Cyrus’s hands and arms engulfing them. The gen started to soften and it turned into some sort of vicious blob. Cyrus could only stare helplessly as the blob tore his flesh apart and entered it. The two phantoms just there rigidly behind as his eyes rolled back into his forehead and he collapsed.

In the middle of a pitch black space, a massive jade serpent of an unknown size opened its eyes. Its crystalline eyes glowed with a hazy gleam. It moved out of its coiled position and slithered around. It would occasionally encounter another smaller snake which would be aptly devoured. Once it’d consumed about ten to fifteen of those smaller serpents it coiled its head around itself and closed its eyes

[Earth]
Cyrus’s eyes blinked furiously once he came back to Earth. He could almost feel that soul-crushing pain. He grabbed his right hand and rubbed it a few times just to make sure that it was still there. He felt that there was something wrong with his hand but he shook it off. He’d been through worse before.
A gust of cold autumn wind made him realize that he wasn’t wearing his jacket or his shoes for that matter. Although he hadn’t been out for more than ten minutes on Earth he decided to go back. He was too exhausted mentally to continue with this excursion of his.
He opened the door and his mother was standing there with a furious expression on his face. “Where did you go?”
Cyrus just looked at her with an incredulous expression on his face. The last thing he wanted right about now was a scolding from her. Instead, he wanted to go back to the Array Tomb and see if there was anything he could do about his impending demise.
As soon as the desire to get back to the Array Tomb proliferated his heart lightheadedness hit him.
….

{Array Tomb}
The man was floating back in the Array Tomb. He was back in his spectral form.
‘Did I just come here on will?’ He was just about to take another dive down the endless rabbit hole of questions but a deep hum traveling through the Array Tomb awakened him from his musings.
‘That, that hum’ a nostalgic sense of familiarity hit him as it finally hit him!
The Array Tomb was fixed and operational!
It probably just produced a batch of Qi stones!
“What the fuck!?” his spectral form flew around trying to make heads or tails of this. ‘How!?’ That was the one thought permeating his very being.
A deep sense of excitement hit him as he finally realized the implications of this.
Qi!
He could finally see a path extending before him! He might just survive!
His excitement died down after a few minutes as he started to consider his options. He summoned the black control array and activated the inspection array. The entire was fixed by about roughly seventy percent. The most recent production was just a default run that the Array performed in order to a check and see if it was fully operational now.
He checked the number of Qi stones and he wanted to jump up and down with joy. Right now he had roughly twelve thousand Qi stones.
Twelve fricking thousand!
Finally, he could take a breath in peace. On top of that, the number of Qi stones would be innumerable now that it’d been fixed but the question was how the hell this had even happened. Was it the hunting trip he took through the ruins?
However, the number of creatures in that place couldn’t even heal two to three percent of the Array Tomb. Maybe, it was something else. Was it that weird turquoise gem?
He needed to find out the answer to this no matter what!
If he could somehow reuse this method or even upgrade this place then the net profit would be unimaginable!
‘I need to calm down and consider my options’
The world was about to be thrown into an upheaval
