Cybernetic Array God - Chapter 4 Blue And Red
The man immediately started working. He didn’t want to waste any time. Who knew when his biological body (Cyrus) would wake up and whisk his soul back to Earth.
He went to the body absorption array. Although he knew how this formation worked he didn’t want to take any chances. After all, he was going to modify his soul. If he messed up then he wouldn’t have anyone to cry to.
The body absorption array didn’t extract the flesh and blood of beasts despite its name (Although, that was its original purpose). It extracted the life force of physical bodies and used that as fuel.
The man paused and wondered whether he should switch to a more efficient energy source. Although life force was a good source it couldn’t compare to electricity or nuclear energy. Perhaps, even solar energy would work.
‘HmmI should definitely see if I can find a better energy source!’
‘But for now, I need to focus on making a prototype first.’
He summoned about a hundred spirit stones and crafted a mini-version of the array he was going to craft. It looked like an inverted triangle with various beast and human images drawn within.
‘Oh, wait I don’t need the beast images. As long as I can get life force from humans it would be enough and there’s only one kind of humans here. Earth doesn’t have beast-kin or bloodlines after all.’
While he was lost in his thoughts he was suddenly pulled away from his tomb and crammed back into that pitiful body.

Cyrus opened his eyes and looked around with surprise. The school nurse was sitting beside him. The vice-principal and Mr. Jensen were standing beside him as well.
The nurse helped him stand up and Cyrus was sent to the office. Saira came to pick him up and he went back home.
The man wasn’t even paying attention to his surroundings. He was trying to think of a way he could control his visits to the Array Tomb. One of the main reasons he wanted to do this was because he felt highly uncomfortable whenever he left his body completely defenseless.
‘I always faint whenever I have a seizure so, what if I just fainted again but on purpose this time?’ This was the theory he came up with.
What took place next would scare anybody to death if they saw what he was doing. He’d taken his phone chargers wire and was in the process of choking himself. His body gagged and choked for oxygen but he ignored and with the sheer strength of his will kept on going.
His eyelids started fluttering and silver dots started appearing in his vision and a few minutes later he fainted.
He woke up with a groan as he looked around hopefully. Unfortunately, he wasn’t in the Array tomb but he was lying on his bed. Choking himself obviously didn’t work. There wasn’t much he could do except wait for another seizure.
..
.
One Month Later
He was back in the Array Tomb and twelve feet high and eight feet wide circular formation prototype was suspended in the middle of the air. There were two people in a fetal position. A blue man on one side and a crimson woman on the other side. Both of the figures were rotating around each other. The distinguishing feature between the woman and the man were they’re bodies and the symbols on their foreheads.
Various glyphs floated inside the blue and red formation. This was the fourth time he’d come here during the last month.
On his first visit, he’d constructed a holding array which would prevent his prototype Array from dispersing when he was pulled back to Earth.
On his subsequent visits, he had been working on the life force absorption array and today was the day he’d finally finished making it.
This formations function was simple. It would form a connection with the physical body and allow the human body to absorb life force. The life force would be stored within the array and when he returned to the tomb he could transfer this into the QI Forming Array. It would be isolated from the rest of his soul and prevent contamination. The only downside was until the QI Forming Array was reconstructed the LF (life-force) array would be in a constant default mode.
Once the QI Forming Array was fixed he could have an almost unlimited supply of QI and work on his soul and physical body. His soul form had visibly ‘dimmed’ throughout the last month. He needed to somehow supply it with energy.
The way he was going to fix it was by cultivating his physical body. As his physical body grew stronger it would obviously be able to accommodate his soul. That was how it worked back home.
He wanted to construct a soul specific array and forcefully supply his soul with energy whether it was life force or his leftover QI stones but the problem was he had no idea how it would affect his soul. This was a matter of life and death to him. There was no way he was about to risk his life on a theory.
‘Hmmwho knows what will happen to my soul cause of this modification?’
‘As long as I can prevent contamination I should be fine’
For the next few minutes, he kept on revising the array. He wasn’t going to start his soul-modification right now but on his next ‘visit’. If he went back in the middle of his modification. Who knows what would happen?

Two Weeks Later
He was finally back. His previously radiant soul had obviously dimmed. He could ‘feel’ it. He needed to hurry up.
He observed the life absorption formation with his divine sense and made sure that he remembered each and every part of the formation. It was crucial that he didn’t make a mistake butdeep down, he still felt uneasy.
Why?
It was because he hadn’t tested the formation yet. Each of its individual components were obviously operational but who knows what would happen in real life.
‘I need to do this. Otherwise, I’m dead!’ He strengthened his resolve and started.
…

He reopened his eyes and looked around. J was crouching beside him. Cyrus’s eyes met with his and a faint red halo flashed. J couldn’t help turn his eyes away immediately. For some reason, he felt fatigued.
“C’mon.”J extended his hand and helped Cyrus get up. Cyrus didn’t have any particular opinion about this brother of his.
“Want some water?” asked J.
“Yeah, sure.” Cyrus couldn’t help but grin. It worked!
After almost two months of fear and panic, he’d done it! The guillotine hanging above his head was removed.
Cyrus picked up his phone and J came back with a glass of water. He drank it in two big gulps and told his brother he was going out. The leaves on the trees had fallen off. The crimson light of the setting sun cast a crimson shadow on his path and the man grinned.
It was time to find prey. He hadn’t killed for a long, long time now and boy, was he going to this…
