Cybernetic Array God - Chapter 5 Torture And Python
Maria was browsing her IG while walking down the street. She looked at her ex-boyfriend’s post and frowned.
‘Why am I still following this asshole?’ She wondered but managed to convince herself that it wasn’t because she was jealous or anything.
Suddenly, she felt a chill crawl across the back of her neck and sped up. Her heels made click-clock sounds as she walked across the cement pavement.
As soon as she saw her door she heaved a sigh of relief and chastised herself for being so afraid. She still took a look behind her. Not out of fear but out of curiosity. Yes, it was curiosity.
The sidewalk was illuminated by the street lamps. The trees cast an eerie shadow on the sidewalk. The faint sound of leaves rustling unsettled her. She quickly unlocked her door and turned on the light.
She took off her shoes and went inside.
*Trrrrinnnngggg* She yelped as her phone started ringing.
“Oh for the love of God” She checked the caller ID and realized that it was her mom.
“Hey, mom.”
“Hi, honey…” she replied cheerfully.
*DING-DONG* the front doorbell rang.
“Eeek!” she yelped in fear. Why was she so jumpy tonight?
“What is it, Maria?” her mom asked worriedly.
“Oh, nothing haha it’s just the bell?” she replied with a chuckle. “I’ll check who it is.”
“Honey, be careful, alright.”
“Ma, relaxxx, I’ll call you back in a sec, alright.”
“Okay, be careful honey.”
She opened the front door and saw a man no, a boy would be more appropriate. He was wearing a black hoodie and a hat holding a duffel bag. However, the most captivating thing was his eyes. Oh, those sapphire blue eyes. They were irresistible. She couldn’t help but be drawn in by them. They were just so beautiful.
The boy grinned wickedly as he could almost feel the life force draining out of her. Her eyelids fluttered as she fell down with a thud.
Cyrus wasn’t as surprised by this because this wasn’t the first time he’d seen this happen. Once the person started at him for more than two minutes they would usually faint. It was perhaps, an internal protection mechanism.
He let go of his thoughts and stepped inside the house. He kicked her arm out of the doors way and cast a wary glance at the street before closing the door not before putting on some plastic gloves meant for washing dishes.
He picked the woman up by her arms and roughly carried her upstairs. He grabbed a chair from the dining table and bound her entire body using a rope. By the time he was done, it looked like some sort of hardcore BDSM play was about to take place.
He pulled a chair for himself and sat right in front of her before slapping her straight across the face.
*Thwack!*
“Oi, wake up!” It didn’t work.
*Thwack* He slapped her again.
The woman groaned and opened her eyes for a second before closing them again. He opened up his duffel bag and took out a home-made Taser and ‘poked’ her.
The woman’s eyes flew open as she tried to scream out loud but the tape on her face prevented her from doing so.
“Okay, listen up.” He lightly slapped her face making sure she was awake. “Look at me, look at my eyes.” She did as she was told fearfully.
“Now whenever you close your eyes or faint I’m going to zap you so you better not stop staring. Is that understood?” The woman was too engrossed by his pupils to notice. She passed out again after about ten minutes.
Cyrus zapped her again and coerced her into staring into his eyes again. Suddenly, there was a phone ring.
Cyrus jolted and looked around trying to determine where the sound was coming from. It wasn’t his phone since he didn’t bring his phone on these ‘trips’. It was most definitely hers. He looked around for a few minutes but couldn’t find it. The woman was sitting there was watching him with panic and fear.
Cyrus looked into her eyes again and she averted her gaze. He walked up to her and said: “Listen, to me very carefully. If you try and scream I will gut you. Is that understood?”
She nodded fiercely. She would’ve looked into the kidnapper’s eyes to make him trust her but she sure as hell wasn’t going to do it with this guy no, boy. It was obvious from his height, face, and voice that he was probably in high school.
Cyrus carefully tore off her tape and asked: “Where’s the phone?”
“Listen to me you don’t have to do this. Just let me go.” She asked.
Cyrus sighed, “Listen to me. Tell me where the phone is and I might just consider not cutting off your face. What do you think about that?” She was unknowingly talking to an age-old monster. How the hell would the man even consider giving in? Even death hadn’t been capable of doing him in, after all.
“I was holding it when I went to open the door.” She replied curtly.
“Good, act like that and I might just spare you by the end of this.”
“Alright, thank you.” Cyrus put the tape back on her mouth and walked downstairs. The situation got a bit on his nerves but Cyrus ignored it for the moment.
He found the phone beside the door. Cyrus somehow hadn’t noticed that even with his high perception.
‘Odd’
He checked the notification and it turned out that the woman’s mother had been calling her. He turned off the phone and took it back upstairs.
He sat back on his seat and forced her to stare into his eyes. After a few more she still couldn’t resist staring into his eyes but slowly she was beginning to develop more self-control.
Cyrus couldn’t help but feel intrigued. Usually, people would start resisting less and less as time passed but this girl was starting to develop some sort of resistance. If other people could develop this sort of resistance as well then that would be a problem.
Suddenly, lightheadedness hit him as he was staring into her eyes and he grasped his forehead failing to grasp his surroundings.
Maria had somehow changed her get-up. She was dressed in jeans and a torn up shirt. She was standing in a barren ruin.
She immediately tried to punch Cyrus straight in his face despite panicking on the inside. Cyrus dodged instinctively and punched her back. She stumbled and fell down. Cyrus got up on her and grabbed her neck. His did a sweep of his surroundings with his divine sense and ‘saw’ that some sort of object was aiming for his back. He turned back and saw that it was a massive green python with green flames covering its body.
He sneered and rushed up to the python. However, he’d forgotten the fact that he was no longer a cultivator. The python opened its massive maw and tried to swallow him. Cyrus rolled out of the way and backed off.
‘Where the hell am I!?’ He looked up at the gray overcast sky and a sense of dread hit him
