Cybernetic Array God - Chapter 6 Fatiro And Pouch
Cyrus took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. This wasn’t the time to be distracted. The python was hissing as it probably prepared for a quick strike.
Cyrus stood there breathing calmly and assessed his options. He needed some sort of weapon. He swept his surroundings with his divine sense but there didn’t seem to be anything of note here. It was all rubble and junk.
‘Wait!’
He only had one viable weapon with him right now. It was his Life Force Absorption Array. He stared into the pythons eyes and his eyes started to glow with a golden halo and before he knew it the python was mesmerized by his vision.
Slowly, the intensity of the golden halo in his eyes increased and a feminine hand emerged from his eye!
—Maria’s POV—
It slowly enlarged as it extended towards the python and the arm coiled extended into the python’s body and a few moments later it reemerged. It was holding something in its fist which looked like a transparent baby green snake.
Maria looked with horror as the arm retracted disappearing into the depths of his pupils. Who the hell was he!?
‘Waitis he a contractor!?’ she wondered. ‘Shit! What do I do now? No but his clothes they’re the newbie set!’
‘How can somebody be so strong!?”
The pythons eyes dimmed as it immediately collapsed. It was dead. The man turned towards her and Maria shuddered as she let go. Her groin felt wet and coldfor some reason. She looked at the area between her legs. The area seemed unnaturally wet for some reason
—Cyrus’s POV—
Cyrus shuddered as he wondered what’d just happen. The Life Force Absorption Array wasn’t supposed to do that.
‘Whatever, I need to find out where I am first of all.’ He did a full sweep of the woman with his divine sense. He glanced at the python momentarily. Its flames had died down. He would check it out later.
“Please, plea-“Cyrus grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and punched her straight on her face. The woman groaned as she fell down. Tears flowed out of her eyes but Cyrus didn’t even bat an eye as he kicked her face. Blood started flowing out of her nose as she coughed.
Cyrus grabbed his pocket to take out his pocket knife but realized that there was no pocket. He looked down at his clothes and saw that he wasn’t wearing his normal outfit. Instead, he was wearing white pants and a pure white shirt.
‘What the heck?’ He shook his head as he picked up the girl and made her stand up despite her groans and whimpers.
“Now, listen to me very carefully. If you don’t answer my questions honestly I will break your fingers one by one and when I run out of fingers to break I’ll start moving up.” He stated platonically.
“O-okay, I’ll do whateve-”
He grabbed her left pinkie and broke it.
*Crack!*
“Ahhhh!!!” The woman wailed and begged as she grasped her hand. “Why!? Why did you do that!? ” She looked at him furiously. There was no way she would forgive him for this.
“Okay, question number 1: where is this?”
“I don’t know. Everybody just calls it the Fatiro Mountain” She replied hatefully.
Cyrus had never heard of this place before. Not on Earth or back home.
“and where is this Fatiro Mountain Range?” He didn’t want her to be aware of his cluelessness but he didn’t have much of a choice in this case.
“I-I don’t know.”
“You don’t know?” He asked threateningly.
“Nobody knows, except for maybe the contractors.”
“The contractors?” asked Cyrus.
“Yeah, they’re strong as hell. Most players think they work for sponsors from Earth.”
“Are you implying that this place isn’t Earth?”
“It’s called the Other Realm by the players.”
“You keep on talking about these players: are they humans from Earth?”
“Yes.”
“How many of them are there?”
“Nobody knows. The-there’s no census here or anything.”
“Alright, now how the f*ck do I get back?”
“You can’t.”
“I can’t?” He glared at her. If the humans on this side couldn’t go back then how come she was back there on Earth? It seemed like she was getting slightly cocky so Cyrus broke her right hand’s pinky.
“Ahhh!!! Why did you do that?”
“Cause you’re starting to forget the fact that I can kill you whenever I want. Now, how come you were on Earth back then? Did you bring me here, somehow?”
“I don’t know, it just happens. One moment you’re there and at the next moment, you’re here. You just go back by yourself back to the very second you came here.”
“So, time doesn’t travel back on Earth while we’re here?”
“Ye-yeah.”
He kept on questioning her for another twenty minutes. It turned out she didn’t know how come Cyrus had come here as well at the same place since the transfers were supposedly somewhat random.
Somewhat, being the key word here since you always ‘spawned’ in the vicinity of the city. You couldn’t control your spawn points until you went through some sort of awakening. She didn’t seem to know much about this awakening so, Cyrus decided to leave that for the moment.
Cyrus wanted to check out the city but first he wanted to deal with the python he’d killed. He didn’t have any tools but the girl was happy to let him ‘borrow’ her supplies.
Cyrus twisted the shabby knife in his hands. It could barely qualify as a knife. He skillfully skinned the python despite, the fact that he was a bit rusty.
It turned out that water and other supplies were pretty scarce here so he couldn’t wash the skin.
He cut off about three bowl sized portions of its meat and took a portion of the snakeskin and wrapped the meat in it.
As for the rest of the corpse, there wasn’t much he could do about the meat but he was still reluctant to leave it since meat seemed to be a scarce and expensive resource in these lands.
‘Wonder if I can access the Array Tomb from here?’
‘Can I get seizures as well?’ He inwardly groaned as he thought of the possibility. If he just fainted in a dangerous situation then he might be killed or worse. ‘Whatever, I’ll deal with one problem at a time!’
He did a sweep of his surroundings with his divine sense and decided to explore these ruins. Robbing and pillaging ruins had been one of his favorite past times back home.
He walked around and realized that despite the fact that he could use his divine sense in this world its range was a lot less than it was in the Array Tomb.
He slowly looked around when he stopped something buried under a huge rock. He pushed the rock off after a few minutes.
‘Hell! That was heavy!’
It turned out to be some sort of leather pouch. He opened the pouch and found three objects. One of them was a rusty ring. The other was a dull gray rock of some type and the last thing was an old book bound by dusty leather. He carefully took out the book and gently turned it around. An upside down five was carved on its leather cover.
‘Hmmm’
