Cybernetic Array God - Chapter 9 Richard And Imprin
Cyrus slapped the boy’s face again and forced him to stare into his eyes. His name was Richard Curry, a classmate of Cyrus. Cyrus became friends with him for the sole reason of devouring his life force.
Richard looked at Cyrus with a horror-stricken look on his face while Cyrus devoured his life force. They were in Richards’s house right now. Cyrus hung out with Richard and when they came back to Richards’s house to play some video games he’d gotten a chance.
His mother had left urgently because of an emergency (her best friend had gotten in a car accident) and Cyrus decided to make the most of his time.
Suddenly, faint dizziness hit him as Cyrus’s vision blurred. ‘Fuck! Not right now” He had considered previously if he would faint in the middle of a ‘job’.
In order to deal with this problem, he’d decided to make sure that he chose prey that lived alone. If they did have acquaintances or relatives then, he made sure that they were on trips or something but what if this guy’s mother returned and saw his son tied up.
He tried to hold on to his consciousness but the heavens rarely heed the desires of mortals He fainted.
…
.
.
He was floating on the ground floor of the Array Tomb with a furious expression on his face.
‘I can’t control my visits to the Array Tomb, I can’t control my visits to the beyond, and I had no control or knowledge of how I ended up on Earth! What the fuck can I control!?’ After fuming for a few minutes he visibly calmed down and decided to address his immediate issues.
The LF Array was floating inside his body. He summoned it outside and a lump of Lifeforce flew out of it. It looked like a grayish blob of fog. The lump immediately flew up towards the roof, leaving his divine sense.
‘Now’ He rubbed his chin as he looked at his soul. Its feet had almost dispersed leaving behind a faint mist. This mist would also disperse in due time. There were two main reasons for this problem.
First of all, he hadn’t expected the LF Array to take such a long time to absorb life force. At the rate he was going he would be long gone before the Array Tomb could be fixed but there was an exception to this. When he absorbed Maria’s life force in the beyond it was almost instantaneous. He would consider this later.
The second reason was obviously the fact that he’d underestimated the speed of his soul’s dispersion. It was much faster than he’d anticipated.
‘I need to somehow enhance the LF Array’s capability.’ He floated around the Array Tomb trying to get a rough measure of how much more he needed.
He summoned the LF Array and looked at the array calmly and carefully. This array was a part of him now. It was a part of his soul. How fitting.
He extracted himself from his musings and wondered if there was a way he could change its activation conditions. Where instead of using his eyes he could just activate it by being in the vicinity of a human. After thinking for a while he groaned and thought:
‘If only I had my farm here. I wouldn’t have to go through this much trouble.’ The ‘farm’ he was referring to was an entire region under his control where he’d placed a massive formation which constantly extracted life force. That formation worked by placing a spiritual imprint on every human in its vicinity but what if he could modify this formation like that as well.
Instead, of his own personal imprint, he could place the LF Array’s imprint on the Humans!
An unlimited supply of Life Force!!
‘Now how should I approach this?’ His thoughts were interrupted as he was once again sent back to his mortal shell.
…
.
..
Cyrus opened his eyes and blinked. Shit had already hit the fan considering the fact that he was lying on a hospital bed and his right arm had been handcuffed to the bed.
A nurse was filling out something on her form when she noticed Cyrus’s gaze. She looked at him and went out immediately. She was probably going to inform the police that he was awake.
Unexpectedly, it wasn’t the doctor or the police who came in first it was his parents and a third man. He was a family friend judging from the original Cyrus’s memories. A family friend who happened to be in the same occupation as this body’s father: a lawyer.
Saira was obviously worried about him and immediately asked him how he was. Cyrus just replied with a curt: “I’m fine.”
The police had detained Cyrus for suspected kidnapping. Stan asked him what happened and Cyrus just replied that he didn’t remember anything after Richards’s mom went out. The lawyer asked him a few questions before going out with Stan to consult him.
Saira was just happy that he was well and kept on reassuring him that everything was going to be fine. He smiled and nodded in response but inwardly, ‘Fuck me’ he was cursing his abysmal luck.
About three hours later the police came back to the hospital room and put him under arrest. Richard’s mom had decided to press charges obviously and he had to stay in jail until his bail hearing.
….
….
.
.
Cyrus was sitting inside his cell calmly while he waited for the bail hearing. There wasn’t anybody in his cell because he was a minor. He wasn’t concerned about this imprisonment much. After all, it wasn’t the first time someone had tried to put him in a ‘cell’ or seal his body. A few old geezers even tried to banish him and all that buthe was standing here right now wasn’t he?
The more pressing matter was how he was going to increase the effectiveness of his LF Array. He was wracking his brains but he couldn’t think of any solution. He got up and started pacing around his cell.
Suddenly, the all-too-familiar lightheadedness hit him. He didn’t try to resist at all this time and let the darkness consume him.
….
.
He reappeared in the stone room with the angel and demon statues. He took a deep breath and looked around the room. There were only three people in the room right now. During his last visit into this realm, Cyrus had found out that he could much easily activate the facilities provided by his soul such as his divine sense.
It was Kaira, the manager and a woman in her mid-twenties. Her name was Hope. Cyrus looked at them and a predatory glint appeared in his eyes.
“Yo!” Kaira finally noticed him.
“Hi,” Cyrus smirked and moved in front of the hallway leading outside. As long as you walked into this hallway you would be deposited outside near the black hole for some reason.
‘Time for some tests’
His eyes met with Kaira’s and before she could even utter a word he activated the LF Array. A blue muscular hand emerged from the depths of his right pupil and extended towards her…
The angel and devil statues cast an ominous glint as their stone eyes opened…
